@Falcom Scott Hey man! Im good, just missing Japan. How about you? I probably would haha. Just because Im curious about the changes from the original stick. Stay safe, man!
Also went to that same Hobby Off at least 3-4 times a month when I was stationed at the same AF base. It made me nostalgic and a bit sad to see it again.
I cant wait to go back, I used to go once a year and I got hooked on filling a suitcase with retro stuff for cheap. I need to hit up this store next time I go, all the stuff in akiba got way too expensive
Thumbs up for giving Klaymen Klaymen/ The Neverhood some tme in the spotlight! That game has such great animations... and possibly my favourite soundtrack ever. This is your best gamehunting video of 2021, good range of games and nice finds. The PC Engine Gradius is absolutely a find, and 3300 yen for The Great Battle IV boxed has to be a good price! Obocchama Kun plays decently and has a pretty gross artstyle. Worth playing for the weirdness of the power ups.
Nice Rick and Morty reference dropped in there. I always remember seeing Yokai Dochuki referred to as Tales of the Monsterpath in UK game mags back the day. Thought it sounded better than the actual translation of Shadowlands.
that ranma 1/2 though! I have the other two already on SFC, definitely gotta keep an eye out for the third one! so much cool stuff every time we see a -off walkthrough.
COVID still not being under control enough to re-open the country is killing me, I haven't been back to Japan since 2018. Seeing Jim on the JR and going into the Tokyo suburbs makes me ache to return asap.
Must be nice to have space in the isles while you are looking for games. Some of those places you show in Tokyo are so cramped. Kiki kai kai really has gone up in price after the word got around that it is the prequel to Pocky and Rocky.
The Kof Nest saga got kof99, 00 and 01 in 1 package..neo geo and dc versions...i ll buy it...in a few months ^^ Skullmonkeys didnt have a real sequel...it was just ported to japan by Riverhill soft (the ones behind Doctor Hauzer on the 3do and Overblood 1-2 on the Ps1)...
ey idk how good your japanese is yet, but it's kinda hard for me to find recommendations for japanese games other than fighting, platformers, shooters, etc. know of any good story-driven japan-only games? im lookin for some obscure cool stuff that never made it out west. could you point me to a good place to find stuff like that, if you dont plan on covering it in vids? ty
Glad you're back at it Jim. Now I have a small backlog of your videos which is awesome!
Went to Homura on our trip to Japan in 2019 per your reccomendation and loaded up at those exact hobby/hard offs. Excellent selections👌
Great selection in this one!
That NEO-GEO stick for PS3 was a really good deal. Like half of the price of eBay listings.

Glad to see the retro games and systems aren't crazy expensive like they are in the West.

Another great video, love the vibe of just walking down the streets.
Thanks for Hamura Hobby tour!
I wish I could get that loose core graphix never got one back in the day but so jealous my friend had on.

Yes to ranma 1/2 !!
It's strange that when I hear the snes era Capcom jingle I think of Jim now.
That jingle used to mean quality.
(Although their RE remakes are good it's pretty much a testament to that)
Yeah, for the same reason I hear Batman on the Genesis I think Sega Lord X, and the Sega jingle for Sonic on the master system I think Sega Head.
I´m here thinking which of those awsome goodies gonna end here in my house. :-)
Great video. Love your channel.

Great game hunting video as always!
Its nice to hear that super mario world music . Really nostalgic
That model 2 to Hi Saturn 🍆💦

1:34 the school girl made me think of Ryōko Hirosue somehow...
Thx for the vidéo !
Alright!! More game hunting content from Jim. I'll get the popcorn and soda pop for this one bro. 8^)
Anthony..

When I look at all of these title games, I don't see any looney tune retro games at all in Japan
Anyone know the song at the very beginning of the video?

I need more Sega in my life.
I would love to go to Japan ❤
🎊🎊🎊
19.06...they gave trunks his own game???
Can you spot the hidden Jim? I know I can! What a beast!
330 for jump ultimate? WOW
I had thise Nintendos ,I remember playing Super Mario untill 3AM to win the game hh
Please tell me you picked up Klaymen Klaymen
Good stufffffffffffffff
Oh man, those "Simple 1500" budget PS1 games are so bad. But all these years later, they have a bit of charm to them.
The console price still make sense but the game is pricy
Grap the PS5 !😄
DS has recently become a pandemic in Japan.
The mario sound effect for the prices is a bit irritating to be honest.
