I’m 62 now and my health isn’t much worth anything anymore. I was once like you and your friends. My best friend and I wanted for hunting season to come in so we could go up to my grandpas and grandmas during Christmas to deer hunt during the doe season the two weeks of December. We’d camp out on this little creek, Turkey Creek was the name of it. In Silas Alabama. We sure had some wonderful times like you and your friends have. I’ve watched every show you’ve ever made and I’ve started watching them all over again. I got married to a gal I went to school with, my high school sweetheart. Her dad owed a western auto store in the little town we lived in in Pace Florida. He sold anything from bicycle bearings to guns of any kind. After being married a year my wife bought me my first pistol and after a year of having that sweet shooting smith and Wesson 22 cowboy pistol he got in a 357 police special and I fell in love with it. One Christmas my wife asked what I’d like to have for Christmas that year and all I could think of is that 357 smith and Wesson. Well, long story short, I let her trade my 22 in on it and I tell ya, that baby would hit a tin can at fifty yards if you could hold it still. I got pulled over in another town one evening coming from work. The officer asked about the pistol on my seat and he asked would I mind him running the number on it. I told him I didn’t mind at all. Next thing I knew I was in hand cuffs and was charged for being in possession of a stolen fire arm. I told the officer the story how I got it and next I knew I was being told that my father in law had reported it as stolen. My wife didn’t fill out new paperwork on it. Guessing she didn’t need to since she had already filled out paperwork on the other. I got out on bond and even though my wife told her dad it was a mistake and thought everything was fine he still thought I had stolen it. He wasn’t a very nice man come to find out. He wouldn’t believe either of us about the pistol and what she was thinking. I stood before the judge and got 5 years of probation and I lost my right to bare arms. I was never able to get my rights back so I started now hurting. It was really hard learning bow hunting since I hadn’t known any one who did. I learned by reading a lot of books and watched a lot of Fred bear hunting shows along with quirt gowdy , don’t know if that’s how you spell his name so forgive my spelling. After days and months of practice I finally hit the woods hunting for deer. I seen more deer than I ever did hunting with a gun and some monsters let me tell ya. I did my probation and come to find out that I still wasn’t able to get my citizens ship back. After really learning about this family I married into I packed my stuff and hit the road. I worked in Houston for years at Exxon and then went to merichem research and development. We tested chemicals from refineries around the world. When I turned forty I had a stroke, a year later I was rushed in for heart surgery. That surgery ruined my ability to pull a string back. Then they legalized using a cross bow if a person was disabled. I started hunting again. Till this day I have been denied my citizenship and I’m still using a cross bow. I really loved being able to go out shooting. I’ve missed out on duck, dove and pheasant hunts and missed out on some nice big racked bucks because of not being able to use a gun. My favorite is turkey season. Ive only killed two bucks in one gobbler in all these past years of hunting with a bow. I was brought up in the woods with my dad and grandpa as teachers. My dad got my first gun when I was seven, a little pump 22 ten a single shot 410. I killed my first turkey when I was eight with that 410. And since I’m not able too use a firearm, I’ve lost out on teaching my sons how to hunt with a firearm. I bought them pellet rifles when they was old enough and I taught them all about safety and how to be in the woods. I would take them squirrel hunting with their pellet guns and I’d teach them how to be quiet and how to slip along without being heard or seen. We had fun of course but when they got 10 and older they couldn’t figure out why other dads had bought real guns for their sons and how they would go on hunting trips. I tried to explain but a young child that age can’t really understand , why ? They do now because they are grown. But we missed out on a lot of great hunting trips because of 1 mistake and a grumpy old man who eventually went To prison for stealing his own products outta his store and collecting on insurance money. I often wonder why this happened to me and why I missed out so much in the outdoors with my children as I enjoyed the times in the woods with my dad. Hey, thanks for all the great shows and a big thanks for listening to a stranger. Thanks, I’m always waiting for the next video of yours.

These pod casts are ruining hunting. Can hardly draw an Elk tag in my home state now and the deer hunting is turning into the same. Stay out of AZ and hunt your own stat!!

This is why the hunting in AZ is being ruined. I can only hunt elk here now every 5 yrs if I’m luck, not the set hunting will be the same way. Just stay the hell out of AZ and learn to hunt your own state. These pod cast are commercializing all hunting!!
