I'm citing this for a paper about the conflict between energy development in Wyoming and the protection of sage grouse--for an undergraduate class in Natural Resource Decision Making. When I was younger, I used to support Sierra Club, other groups which always pushed for litigation against Forest Service and F&W service. this paper I'm writing and the class, help me to completely see things differently. The costs of litigation don't help either these government agencies nor wildlife, the lawsuits slow down economic initiatives and conservation efforts. they also piss people off, so you risk their support for whatever you're going to court for. I still don't know the right organizations to support but I'm figuring it out. I'm actually grateful for this podcast giving me new perspective. I don't have the same ideas about protection and preservation of natural resources as a lot of more conservative people, but we do both value wildlife. We just have to figure this out in this polarized political climate.

Steve brought up a good point, I will never go to wyoming because I don't know anyone and will not pay for a guide to be on public land. The governor just laughed hes denying 49 other states right to public land. Should all states follow suit to protect their public resources for profit??

Just watched the podcast. Steve sure let the governor avoid that issue. While the guide rule only applies to wilderness areas, which are over inflated to cover as much area as possible, they still are being set aside to benefit the states outfitter industry.
