Give Carlton a pat on the back, it’s tough to beat Freo when their at home, but the blues just showed who wants to make finals! I think they still have some belief Carlton, but Freo just aren’t clicking like they were last year. Great game tho! Carlton needed that.
Who is this Blues team? Their defensive pressure was outstanding!! Everything clicked. Front, middle, back, it was an all-round performance. I don't know if their system has finally come together, or they've made changes because of the flack they copped, but they were excellent. Crippa is back. Cerra had a game (and been doing so for weeks). This lineup is working. They also did it without one of their key rucks. I don't know if they can make the 8, but they are looking dangerous.
Next week against Port and two weeks later against the Pies will tell us plenty. If they win at least one and do well enough in the other then they deserve to have a berth in September: though they may need to win both.
Good sportsmanship by Carlton usually players rub it into other players but they took the win and had the sportsmanship to go straight over to the freo players and say good job 🤍💙
Everyone is saying we are going to get a reality check next week, but if we take it up to port adelaide and dont just get blown away then i might have some hope of us beating the st kildas or the melbournes of the competition
Freo were once the top rated defensive team in the comp but now that it’s gone they been exposed in the mid and forward of the ball. Their defensive pressure was non existent in this game and I’m not sure if it was an effort issue or a coaching issue.
It was frustrating to watch players stand back rather than tackling. I watched Johnson do it continuously. The disposal under pressure was poor too and there were far too many rushed kicks downfield instead of picking a teammate. The constant kick-ins to the congested side was frustrating too considering nobody was capable of taking mark.
I';;m say Blues are back when they beat Port next week, it's great to see them coming good again, lets hope they can keep it up, they should beat the Eagles the following week easily and get good percentage bonus.
This is almost like last year's West Coast v Carlton match. Carlton keep the home side goalless for two separate quarters. The slow starts are continuing to plague Fremantle and this is just the second of what is likely to transpire into a six-game losing streak, considering they have a tough run too. They couldn't take advantage of what should've been an easy start to the season until their four-game winning streak. And now, they are more than paying the price for it. In the next week or two, I'm going to be saying "f*** you, Longmuir", because his team is NOT destined for Finals this year. As for Carlton, three consecutive weeks of high scores keeps them in the Finals hunt. So they need a f***ton of results to go their way.
@@Ben_leonard750 Freo were flat slow uninterested with no aggression at all absolutely useless but the umpires sticking the boot in did not help at all once again Carlton are the only team to get home ground advantage from the umpires on the road absolute grubs dirty tactics all afternoon and the umps turn a blind eye wat a joke
One of the top contested ball teams went up against one of the lowest, freo couldn’t handle physicality. It’s no different to basketball, the team that drives more gets more fouls, the team that goes in for the ball more gets more calls.
Matthew Kennedy extremely underrated midfielder.
Yea but now he is probably our for 6 weeks with a knee injury
@@rebeccareed643 Looks like Hewitt not gonna be the sub anymore.
Cerra and Serong are valuable assets to these clubs rarely talked about
liam henry and hayden young also
Cerra is always talked about 😂

Happens literally in every AFL game I've ever watched
Gee Cerra has to be a chance to get in the all Australian this year
He's in the top 20 coaches' votes scoreboard, Carlton's top rated player there. Got a perfect 10 for this game.
Very disappointing result, but well played Carlton.
💜⚓️
How do you beat Melbourne in Melbourne and play Carlton at home and show nothing

too accurate mate
Let’s go Blues 🇺🇸
I am in USA too! Go, Blues!
@@clarkclements7204 awesome friend. At least no one can call us bandwagoners 😂
Well I was at the game and the funny thing was but disappointing as a Carlton fan, is that the song didn’t play until like 30 secs after the game
It was good to see a Carlton crowd at the game

maybe an age issue as well. They were 4th youngest team.

Three cheers for the umpires !!!!!!!
60 points isn’t the umpires and also freo got away with a lot in the first quarter

Fremantle can't complain about the umpiring. They got outplayed.

Freo are crap
Carlton won at home again
Was there a game because I didn’t hear a single freo fan?
