Gary Ablett's goal playing for Victoria against Sth Australia in 1994 really should be there; it defied physics.
The Daniel Rioli and Cyril Rioli goals are pretty similar. Even have the 1-2 pass before kicking the goal. So good. Rioli, Rioli, Franklin and - of course - Betts have all the best goals of the year.

I understand the theatre of it, but that backwards Lloyd goal was incorrect disposal. He literally threw the ball on the ground, then poked it backwards with his foot.

I'm an American and that 2018 goal was nuts and wonderful cuz as someone who follows soccer and (to a degree) our football, that's a maneuver you couldn't get away with in either of those games!
Awesome goals indeed. It was interesting to see the replay be brought into 2001, especially in slo mo and the log ochange in 200. There are already a few good contenders for this year's goal of the year.

I forget the year but Dustin Fletcher taking the mark handball receive into 60m running barrel goal of the year deserves a mention. If it was tried today with the current crop of kicktards, the barrel would have gone out of bounds on the full where the 50m arc meets the boundary.....

Rioli? Couldn't even win goal of the rd. So it's an insult to even have that here
Franklin? Well, was running too far and a complete replay of his first win. Though, it was Friday Night, so the commentary could've been epic.
Murphy? That's what I feel should've been goal of the year that year.
All 3 very different goals. But the fans voted Murphy over Rioli. So spitting in the face of the fans and having the experts go Rioli really pissed me off.

Sorry but Judd's goal of the year 2005 definitely wasn't that great. How Mihochek bicycle goal wasn't goal of the year this year compared to another goal of the year that had already happened is beyond me. First goal like it in the AFL can't wrap my head around that.😊
