- This one goes out to the ladies! Lady Bakugan, specifically. There aren't a lot of Bakugan girls, but there's enough to pick favorites so here we go! This Top Ten tier list features Bakugan toys and characters from Battle Brawlers to Evolutions, and everything in between!

Agreed, the idea she represents the love and protection of a dying mother surviving beyond the veil of death is a powerful thing. I like that kind of inherited will… also being a majestic Phoenix that I think might reference Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird or whatever else started the idea of becoming a flaming bird that crashes through the enemy, bonus points to her and bakugan for embracing making dozens upon dozens of references not just to the obvious

I like to imagine that Artulean was a spiritual successor to Elfin in a way. As Elfin is based on Sailor Moon, Artulean is seemingly based on Evangelion, with him filling the “Anime Reference” niche formerly occupied by our female froggy friend

I was pretty shocked when I heard Tigrerra is a male in the sub, literally couldn't accept that fact, until I started watch sub version and realised Tigress is a lot more likeable character than Tigrerra with his weird personality (also his crush on his "Ojou" hahahah).

Viloch was a xenophobic (or spieciest idk) Bakugan that hated humans because they have seen how humans abused Bakugan for selfish reasons and wanted to separate Earth and Vestroia to protect the Bakugan. But their hatred of humans grew to the point of extremism and turned from closing the nexus to destroying the Earth entirely.

Preyas and Elfin had me watching the show much longer than I should have. I knew Elfin's original voice had an off-putting quality to it but I still found it pretty amusing. I was happy and saddened when her voice changed. It does sound nicer but we lost something with the switch to something more typical. I do appreciate how much force her new voice has behind it.
I honestly preferred Elfin's original raspy voice rather than the cutesy girly voice. I appreciated the diversity

Personally I've always been fond of both Oberus and Lars Lion.
Their toys are so unique among the OG line, and their tests were some of the most brutally honest yet well-meaning fights in the whole show.
It's a shame Runo's writing kinda tosses Lars' lesson out after a while... But at least Oberus' gave us some massive character development for Shun.
So over the weekend my niece and nephew were down, and I was trying to clean out some of my storage space. As an Aquos collector, I was considering getting rid of a lot of my non-Aquos Bakugan to make some room, and I thought giving those to them would be a nice way of giving them a new home. While my nephew staked claim to most of them, my niece was immediately drawn to my three pink Nanogan, Ferascal, and Pegatrix. And darn it if this didn't feel like the best video to tell this story in :)
The thing with Tigrerra reminds me of Override in Transformers Cybertron. I seem to recall owning a Blade Tigrerra once.

I can see it, male originally then female in the states as well as basically being the main partner to the main female lead
Funny thing is, Override's character design was originally meant to be female because Cartoon Network asked Hasbro to make more female characters for the third act of the Unicron Trilogy. The character is designed after Minerva from Super Godmaster Force. Character and toy designs, as well as the original outline for all three entries in the trilogy, were headed by Aaron Archer at Hasbro. The Japanese animation studio that made Galaxy Force decided to make the character male because they thought boys wouldn't like having a female leader for the Speed Planet. When it came back to American and got dubbed as Transformers: Cybertron, they changed her BACK to female per CN's request but also because that's how the character was originally conceived.

I have a Ventus Blade Tigrerra in my living room with all my other Bakugan. I have not watched the series in years. Perhaps I'll go back and play the DS game that got me into the series in the first place.
Fenneka is probably one of my favorite bakugan of all time. I absolutely love the little fox marble, and I'm super happy to have diamonds of both the core and ultra in haos.

Honestly didnt have any ideia Bakugan still had an animated series, and im kinda glad that it does, just looked up on this bakugan evolutions and H-O-L-Y, the animations and the 3D look good as heck, also, im glad that Jett has finally evolved to adult form

I'm not a fan of the 3d designs but y'know everyone has relitives for Ms the 3d models just scrap all the charisma of the 2d designs and yeah I can see why they switched style 2d animation Is hard to create since you have to draw frame by frame not messing it up or maybe I'm an old head and there are easier ways to execute this type of animation
The Japanese voices for Harpus and Elfin definitely clears the performance of their English dubs imo

In the original version Skyress is female... And in the English dub is also a female
BUT in the DUTCH version is a male and in the Latin America dub is also a male
but in the Spanish from Spain is a man but also a woman it's weird
And later in New Vestroia Latin America dub is refered as a woman but later in the VS Volt is referred as a male
And the Spain version is refered as both a woman and as a male

The Brazilian Portuguese she is female.... And she was my favorite, even if my favorite element was Haos, she was powerful and so pretty
thank goodness she stayed a woman in the Indonesian & Tagalog dubs
the weird thing is in the Tagalog dub, Wyvern is voiced by a male (Jeff Utanes, best known as the Tagalog voice of Goku) yet is still refered as a woman. Utanes also voiced Tigrerra in the Tagalog dub cos they're basing off the Japanese RAW version at first before changing source to the English dub (the change happened around episode 10-19?)
The Wyvern male VA problem fortunately didnt happen to the Indonesian dub but they changed the VA from Winny Anwar (also voiced Skyress & Siren) in episode 23 to Leoni Mutiarza (also voiced Harpus) starting from episode 34. And Tigrerra is also a male in the Indonesian dub. He sounded like as he's Runo's personal butler there.

so er, harpus is actually my favourite female bakugan... yea her voice is nails on a chalk board but im very fond of her creature design, also if it wasn't for me wanting to get a ventus harpus to sit my with childhood el condor and bee striker i would have never gotten back into bakugan. i always loved kombas bakugan even if he was a tad annoying.
elfin is probably second on the list, monarus is probably third and skyress is maybe just scraping into fourth

i was finally able to get ventus monarus this month. she and drago are my favorite bakugans and i am so happy i have both of them now. also, i always appreciated how many female bakugan shun had in the og cartoon, especially in season 1 when he was rocking that long pony tail. very gnc of him

Sirenoid was my absolute favorite growing up and having a huge fascination with mermaids. I'm glad she made a few appearances after the first season and the unique ability to swim across cards was really cool! (I admit I also kept mine in my aquarium at one point-)
If they ever brought her back, or another rendition of her, I would be so down for that.
Elfin was also another neat one! I was defintely a sailor moon kid as well so I was 100% biased on that one.

Oh course I didn't know Elfin have connection to Sailor Moon because I didn't know about it when Bakugan was airing.
And maybe that's why seemed there's something I have seen but I couldn't put finger on it when I watched Sailor Moon.

I feel like there's a lot to be said for the G2 villains in concept, if not execution.
You've a well-meaning scientist who was basically corrupted by an alternate power source (and who even shows up in a later season to help the heroes), an interplanetary criminal shapeshifter who's just out to cause mayhem, a bureaucrat who believes separating Earth and Vestroia is in the best interests of bakugan as a whole and doesn't care for humans, and then someone from a season I haven't seen yet.
man, I'm disappointed we never got a physical Tico release. that said given the baphomet inspiration I can. definitely see why.
My Ventus Elfin was my favorite Bakugan when I was a kid. I loved playing with her and I used to take her everywhere I went, even sneaking her into my "no toys allowed" elementary school. In 2010 my area had a huge blizzard and I took her out with me to play and go sledding. I put her in my pocket, made a snow angel, and when I went to take her out she was nowhere to be found. I spent the rest of that day digging in the snow trying to find her, my tears almost freezing to my face. Eventually, I had to go inside to dry off. I was inconsolable. My 10-year-old self felt real loss, and for weeks I would go back to where I made that snow angel, hoping that once the snow melted I would be able to find her. After a while I gave up, accepting that she was gone and that I would never see her again.
Then my mother found her in my pants. Turns out my snow pants had two sets of pockets and I was checking the wrong ones. If I told you how loudly I screamed when she showed me you would not believe me. I still have that Ventus Elfin with me all those years later. I cherish those memories fondly.
All that is to say that if I was making this list, I'd probably switch Elfin and Skyrus.
Tigrerra to Viloch, Airazor to Override, one common weird trend in anime is that someone swaps genders when going overseas.
It’s usually always something airing daytime probably under the request of the network airing if they have a enough pull to change production

Those were all the ones I could find on the wiki pages that either have female pronouns in their descriptions or had a feminine voice/appearance at some point in the show that were immediately obvious. Ones marked with a * were ones I knew off the top of my head and the rest I had to look up. Also, don't flame me for forgetting Ferascal or Sairus. I didn't even remember Sairus and I forgot about Ferascal entirely and felt incredibly stupid for missing such an obvious pick. I also had to look up the Geogan ones as I KNEW there were more beyond the 12 previously mentioned before number 13, but I couldn't remember them or was unsure about their genders.
Also, the Geogan count as they were dubbed as "Ancient Bakugan" from like a REALLY long time ago in the actual show in Geogan Rising. Also Sky Horse is a part of Ultimate Viloch if anyone was wondering, as well as Insectra. The only independent Geogan in the series that's female as far as I know is Arachnia. Also also, I like how I remembered that one feminine version of Centipod that would probably go under most people's radar but forgot Ferascal of all characters. Like what is wrong with me? xD
Wilda and lumagrowl should have been female, that would’ve been more fitting
Emily also have female Webam as her main bakugan.
Monarus is my favorite, but I also like how Sirenoid fits in with her origin.
As sirens in mythology are known to drive sailors to shipwreck, same thing here. In a way, Sirenoid shipwrecked Preyas on the rocky coastline of Klaus’s collection
I wonder where you found the Japanese clips for Viloch. I haven’t been able to find lots of clips of the Battle Planet Japanese dub. Fenneca and Avior are tied for my favorite Bakugan. Fenneca is one of my favorites because of her rowdiness and her being a fox.
So…I’m weird. And I don’t have a lot of an explanation but uh…Harpus is one of my favorites? Like seriously, I adore her design and impish(not sure if that’s the right word for this) personality. I feel a lot of people’s issue with her is the ENG Voice, which yes, is a bit ear grating, I actually don’t mind it as it suits her overall personality.
Plus, as a small child watching the original series, the scene of her being sent to the Doom Dimension has always…stuck with me. That despite her personality, she meant something to Komba. Again, I don’t know why I like her so much, I just really do.
I'd say Twin Doubrew is my favorite bakugan that is female and a design as a whole.
We didnt see the Bakugans in Bakutech speak besides Dagger Odos and the spirit that took over Tatsuma's body temporarily that was female. Me presuming that the Twin Doubrew is the actual body for the female spirit.
I recently acquired an aquas Elfin from an antique mall for $5. She works perfectly fine, and is a nice addition to my collection considering I only had 2 aquas bakugan prior.

Tigrerra was likely changed cuz in most European languages, which are synthetic and concordant, female names grammatically have to end in a vowel. (Otherwise conjugation won't work right). In Japanese it was not a problem as it doesn't have grammatical gender.

The female bakugan not in should be harpess, overuss, lars lion, ingram at least before the evo, lumigrowl, Sairus or however you spell the name its leah's second partner bakugan the one that fuses with trox, phaedrus, pyravian, ferascal, and 3 of nagas soldiers i dont remember their names but its the 2 who are sisters and have haos and subterra attributes and the one with ventus and aquos attributes

A darkus Wayvern was one of the first bakugan i ever got and one of the few i still have left today. Whenever I’d play with my friends she was always in the battle party no matter what.
Also I know only One "Female" Bakugan you didn't add and that would be Avior from Gundalian Invaders
Avior is Female in the Japanese version of the series and if "She" had stayed Female in the English Dub... Avior theoretically would've been the first Female Subterra Bakugan...
I did actually include Avior in my list of 22!
