As I had said before Bakugan Brawlers for the DS was my jam when I was younger so I have a strong attachment to (Omega) Leonidas. Naga (or “Naga”/Nino) should have absolutely been (Omega) Leonidas!
Fun fact about the Naga toy, it originally wasn't even supposed to be Naga. Back when it released in the final wave from the first season of Bakugan way back in 2008, nobody knew what Bakugan it was supposed to be. Some people called it Naga, others called it Ultimate Dragonoid. I remember Bakugan reviewers back in the day being incredibly inconsistent about it. It was only recognized as Naga thanks to someone at Spin master seeing a review refer to it as Naga that it ended up being called Naga a year later when it was packed in with the limited edition DS game.

Nino's "horn" is actually the back spike that base Naga has in the show. But yeah, huge shame that the exclusive bakugan to the DS version of the game wasn't Leonidas. The closest thing we have to Legacy Leo in Legacy is the Infinity Drago toy
And then somehow it took until this year iirc until we got an actual one. Even then, it wasn't pyrus lol
Nah, closest thing to legacy Leo is the Armored Alliance Drago×Tret. Basically the exact same model

you've seen what original Leo and the reboots Drago×Tret look like, right? virtually the exact same model.
I always felt like the naga toy was a design for a version of dragoniod, more specifically an evolution of dragonoid but they instead went with delta dragonoid, then they had the it laying around, realized they needed a toy for naga, and used it.
My buddies and I recently got in to the Bakugan TCG. So far we're enjoying it, especially our one friend who decided he'd play "Oops! All Cubbo's" and refuses to play any other Bakugan.
i love cubbo tbh, his gremlin visage is what drew me back into the franchise, and i have collected as many of him as i can. sometimes it feels like the cubbo subline was made for me and me alone. spinmaster made a joke at everyone else’s expense, and i am laughing along with them.

I actually have both color ways of it somewhere lol. I used to collect the marvel ones like mad and 7 year old me thought the red skull ones looked cool as hell. Well looking back at them now knowing who red skull actually is makes them a lot less cool LMAO

Battle Planet Hydorous may have been the toughest to close and keep it closed, but I believe SpinMaster learned from their mistakes. Now, most if not all Bakugan have a level of complexity that even the kids can learn!
I can agree with the Cubbo Bakugan... I remember Bakugan coming back, going to the store to buy them again, opening the packs and boxes, and the moment I saw Cubbo my first thought was "What. Is. This??" 😭
I Think the horn on the naga toy is meant to be that big hooked spike on his back, not a horn on his head.

Honestly it wasn’t surprising that Cubbo was #1 but I actually don’t mind Cubbo. I feel like the cosplay wave was a really cute addition to Bakugan, considering the fact them being monsters. I enjoyed this video! Last few videos were exceptionally good. Jett is improving with his editing!
i think cubbo is bad for the game of bakugan cause they're clearly not competitive but they're good for toy collectors
You know a personal hate on a Bakugan that the Hydorous ultra brought me flashbacks? Fencer

You know, back at New Vestroia, when they released those clear plastic Bakugan? One of them is that weird round spider with 4 legs, that makes the hind legs from that combiner. It's whatever, but the one I had just *COULDN'T STAY CLOSE*, basically what was describe with Scaboid (which ironically is not an issue with my Ventus one lol). I try to close, following the right steps and for some reason, on the lightest gust of wind, it pops back open. It sucks.
And of course, this meant it was unplayable back when I played it!
God, I’ve never had a fencer that didn’t break. Clear plastic has to make that even worse.
Ahh, I remember Skytruss. Man that last year of classic Bakugan felt like such a whimper of an ending. Amazing video as always Jett! Glad to see you making content regularly again!
(Also, is there any possibility of you making a video about Bakugan pro and what led up to the hiatus? I am of those still holding out hope for its return. If just a little)
I have Skytruss and liked the design so I was confused why it was on the list, but after the explanation I can totally understand. A Bakugan that is not a perfect sphere (or whatever else it ends up being, mostly spheres) is heresy.

the most annoying thing about rubanoid is that even though hes super common hes only common in opaque plastic, which kinda defeats the point of rubanoid being a gem creature thing? hes clearly designed to be jewel-like so why did they make so many non see through versions of him??

I loved the original Bakugan, and always enjoyed playing it. The reboot looks like a lot of fun, but I've got no idea where to start or anything. Are there any resources you, or this community, could point me to to get back into Bakugan?

the naga spike isn’t a head spike, it’s his oversized back spike that blends in with the overall design. i was also very confused as to where the spike came from

I couldn't agree more that the Red Skull Bakugan could've been switched out for another villain who was less, um... evil. I do agree that it's pretty well designed and you can tell it's him, though! The fondest memory I have with mine is getting him in a double pack with Lumagrowl and thinking out scenarios of why they'd fight in the first place (and always imagine Lumagrowl winning mostly due to pure bias :P).
Overall an out of left field crossover but I'm happy it made some popular Bakugan easier to obtain!
Jeez this is so weirdly nostalgic. I was never even into this franchise, but as a kid I used to rescue the broken bakugan I’d find around my school playground. My classmates would just leave them in the grass and they’d get stepped on, and I’d feel bad for them. So I did have a few, mostly missing a piece or two.

These videos really refresh some memories. I remember having a number 7, it was fairly cool for me as a kid. Pretty sad that i lost all my 300+ bakugan collection when moving to another country.

I never had a White Naga and growing up I never thought the Naga toy looked like him, so i just got a Pyrus Naga and call him Ultimate Drago because my heart hurts and Battle Trainer gives me worth in this instance

I am genuinely surprised this video was in my recommended. I haven't thought about Bakugan in over a decade. I had a bunch of them as a kid... and had never seen the anime and didn't know how to play the game. I just thought they were neat little ball robots! That said, this video is very well made! It's neat that a franchize like this exists and I'm glad the toys are still around and being enjoyed.

20:56 That’s exactly how I feel about LEGOs. Even if I’m not the target audience for some of the Ninjago sets I buy, I still enjoy getting them. Some fans don’t realize that it was made for kids 1st, and adult collectors who care about all these little details 2nd.
i can understand why hydorous ultra is at #5 (as i have one aswell) and its so hard to keep its legs and hands from popping out and when you do end up keeping the limbs in, they pop back out 2 seconds later

This video got me to take out some of my old bakugan I had from back in the gundalion Invader days and before. I have a few with the Alto Brontes disease. Might need to buy some tins to keep them in a new home and area. (You know what I should use to clean them. God knows what my kid self did to them and I want them to be shiny clean)
I bought the Bakugan Battle Brawlers game, and I didn't get White Naga. I instead got a Haos Faction Naga (it's stats were pretty good, but not what I was expecting).

I mean the whole point of Leonidas was that you could choose the element you want him to be. That would be a bit difficult if you make him an exclusive for a game. Don't get me wrong I am waiting for a Leonidas Toy since the game came out but the Naga one is still fine and a favorite one in my collection. Looking at the whole franchise it's a wonder that the exclusive Bakugan wasn't just some sort of Dragonoid.

For real though, this was fun. I don't think I've laughed this hard at one of your videos. I think I'll put in my two cents about Leonidas though: I'm willing to bet that they didn't produce a Leonidas toy mainly because of the fact that Leo didn't have just one attribute in the games, his attribute was the choice of the player. If they had released Leo as a single attribute, like Haos as he is depicted on his cards, they would have cause some backlash. And if they had produced Leonidas toys of all attributes, some would have probably sold out faster than others and people might have missed out on their favorite attribute. There could have been a lot of things at play that stopped SM from making Leonidas a reality, but that's just my opinion.
I think SM just saw Leonidas as "that one model we made for that one game" and didn't expect the fans to love him as much as they did, kinda like how Transformers did with Optimus back at the beginning
That and idk if they'd make a whole new mold just for one release with a game, it'd be a lot more feasible to throw in a redeco

I completely agree with the cubbocalypse. I'm just in the store looking at toys, and I just find this weird bear in the Bakugan section, and not just the weird bear, but his 700+ cousins! I thought that the golden King Cubbo being a larger one did kind of make sense, but why the heck were there ZOOBLES in the toy line for mostly people who like cool monsters?
Question: in old bakugan battles, what would happen if 2 players used all of there abbility cards and those 2 diffrent bakugan jave same G-power?

I actually have been able to close BP Hydrous Ultra without clicking something. The trick is to only push his mane about halfway down, which is just enough to let the arms and head fall into position. You then need to hold those in place wile dealing with the legs. I also haven’t had any trouble with mine opening unintentionally. It’s definitely not the most stylish Hydrous, and can be a challenge to close sometimes, but the Bakugan I have the most trouble closing is Nobillious Ultra.

Hi, quick question about the Bakugan TCG. How do the take core mechanics work? Can Platinum Sectanoid gain both abilities if I land on a magic shield and then select a shield so I can also take a core from the opponent? Or does it only get the ability by picking up the core with the Bakugan? Which means you only get one ability at a time. I'm very grateful for helpful answers
I recently got a darkus nillious, what are your thoughts on it? A mythically accurate Naga is a snake person.
