      One other thing, thanks for adding a different color, so much nicer than how I was doing it.

    Love this. I'm working on it now. The next one I make I may turn my work to see if the square doesn't look twisted... thanks for the great, easy to follow tutorial!

      Marla P yes that’s what I’m going to do because I do not care for the twisting distorted look.
      I do think turning the work will fix that because the same rule applies for a regular granny square
      Good luck to you ❤️

      Yes it does get a bit twisted look. It is because we are working in one direction. I will have to do a tutorial on how to join the rows without having an obvious seam. i have a baby blanket I made where I join and turn and the seam is invisible, but the blanket it's self is super complex so there is no pattern.

    Just started this video & you said here's a chart to make this easier & I'm like uhhhhh no I have zero idea what I'm looking at 😂 Maybe I need to save this & come back to it after I have more experience... 😁 Looks beautiful, though, I will definitely try it at some point!

      Charts are more advanced but sometimes it helps people see where stitches are supposed to be placed. I wouldn't call this a beginner technique.

    Thank you for this video! I like the idea of changing colour in the corner but not sure how to get there when you turn your work each row which keeps it from skewing as it gets bigger. My slip stitch where i turn is in the middle of a row, would i just keep working moss stitch till i get to the next corner rather than the usual turn mid row?

  • @barbaraward9601
    @barbaraward9601 4 месяца назад

    If we were to turn the piece over after each row would that take away that line that runs through the piece?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  3 месяца назад

      We are working in continuous rounds. There shouldn't be a line that runs through the piece because we are not joining the rows.

    Do you carry the previous yarn throughout the project or do you snip it if an work it back in?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  3 года назад

      I did not carry my yarn. I just cut it at the color change leaving a long enough yarn end to weave in later.

    If I wanted to use the Moss Stitch for a circular blanket, would I skip the ch2 for the corners and just chain one in between each sc?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  3 года назад +1

      No. If you skip the corners you would not be increasing every row. You need the increases to make the blanket get bigger. What you would actually do is work 6 corners in each row to give it a more circular appearance.

    Is there a way to do this without the square twisting?

    • @masuganut2082
      @masuganut2082 4 года назад +1

      Mary Alison try turning your work after each round. A lady in the comments here is going to try it, as am I when I work through my other wips

      Joining and turning your work will get rid of the twist. It have a lot to do with working all in one direction. I haven't tried it yet, but when you make your SC, pull up a loop, then Yarn UNDER, then finish the stitch. This may minimize the twist if you want to work in all one direction. They do this with the tapestry single crochet and I use it for the knit stitch (aka waistcoat stitch or center single crochet) and it gets rid of the slanted stitch look.

    How long it take getting big

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  4 года назад

      Center out patterns can be deceiving. They start growing very very quickly but each row gets a bit bigger and bigger and then it starts taking forever to work a row.
