That's something that I find about her video. The practicallity. Don't get me wrong, I like her videos and tips, and they actually help me tremendously to build my capsule wardrobe. However, her shoes recommendation is always a miss for me since we have different lifestyles and climates. I love my ballet flats and heels, but at the end of the day I will always opt for my trainers because they are more comfortable to wear 3 - 4 hours of walking and constantly have to move. And it will not ruin our feet. The examples on this video are not meant to wear when you have to rush to catch the earliest commute and stand all day in your workplace. I just wish that she incorporates it more and take it into consideration of her styling because someone in my job would also like to look stylish without missing the practicality. I hope you can understand what I mean since English is not my first language.
@kaphy - I so agree! When Uggs were in style, the Toronto salty slush destroyed them & when Hunter (rubber) boots were in style, they were slippery and my feet were always freezing. Meanwhile, my docs have been workhorses. Practicality trumps fashion sometimes, eh?
Exactly! I think I've bought a lot of the "avoids" (white stitching, wrong toe shape") and couldn't figure out why it didn't look quite right. You have a gift, Lydia!
Life hack: you can go over contrasting stitching on a shoe with a black permanent marker pen. I’ve done it on shoes, bags and a leather jacket and it works well if you’re careful x
Or you just have to polish them from time to time with same color shoe-polish. I've used to change the color of entire boots by using simple polish in desired color, if I couldn't get a pair in a shade I wanted - i.e.oxblood booties became dark brown after one application of brown shoe polish. Light stitching stands no chance against it. Polish polish, polish. ;)
@@ninav1522 Hi! Well, it depends on various factors - type of leather and polish you use. Do you have experience with shoe polish? They usually come as cream polish that you need to live in for a while and then polish with a brush or cloth - or as more liquid instant polish with sponge applicator ant the top that you use in between two 'proper' polishes to refresh your shoes and to give them quick, instant polished look. Those polishes dry fast, are not very nourishing for the leather and don't need polishing once they set. Both will do the same job - they'll dye contrasting stitching. Now, if you want to change the color of the entire shoe, you can go only the same color value (lightness/darkness) of darker. For example, you can't shoe polish for light shoes to make dark shoes lighter. You can do what I did - change the shade of equal value (from oxblood to brown) or make shoes darker. Depending on type of leather or faux/vegan leather used, the effect might vary I presume. Mine were from genuine calf. Once you treat your shoes with darker polish they will become darker and darker each time you apply the polish until they become the shade of the polish itself (for example, if you have green, tan or brown shoes and you use black polish on them, eventually, depending on leather, they will become rather dark or even fully black. You can't go back, I'm afraid. Regarding staining, if you used shoe polish before, you know it might be sticky if you touch it before it's set or absorbed and polished. They can stain your fingers or clothes if you don't let it set/dry or absorb/polish - depending which type of polish you use. Most shoe polishes nourish or/and give shoes a polished look while offering slight protection from the elements. However, if you need waterproof effect, you might want to look for a shoe product that has such properties. They usually come in form of thick, greasy, neutral shade and do decent job making your shoes waterproof. Perhaps you might find waterproof polish where you live. If you can't find neither, just use thick layer of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) let it sit, take off the excess and you should be good to go. Best of luck! Edit: If you just need to cover/blend in contrasting stitching you can use a marker in the same shade.
Docs will always be a fan favourite and timeless classic piece. Disagreed with a few of the styles you mentioned on the don't's list. Interesting video.
I love this format. Details to avoid and particularly those to specifically seek that separate and elevate were terrific . Soooo helpful. More like this, please.
Lydia Style Personality is clearly a ‘Classic’ - however this isn’t everyone’s style type; for those of us who suit more ‘Dramatic’ styles, the constant neutrals would be bland and boring … but on Lydia they look timeless and elegant. You can have brighter & bolder colour & styles which are not cheap and tacky!
So true! I was almost offended when she knocked on the Doc Martens. IMO this "industrial" type of style looks great on Natural and Gamine types and probably some others too
Completely agree. Not everyone wants to wear things that don't stand out. I am so bored of boucle jackets and neutrals. Dont get me started on blazers.
Totally agree! Bright & bold, “dramatic”( I will never (🤘🏼😜) stop weaving a touch or two of “punk”into my outfits, even on my most “classic/elegant/timeless attire” days😉), is not only great fun, but if done right, it can look both “expensive” and elegant (as opposed to “cheap and tacky”😉). But I do feel that getting the wrong “hue” for your skin tone - especially with bright colours, as well as “settling” for certain types of reeeally synthetic fabric, that are often used for bright & bold clothes, can quickly take things from “dramatic” to “decidedly dodgy”. It’s not easy getting it “right”, especially when shopping online or in shops with bad lighting😏.
I like a do's and don't presentation. It is also very useful when you put the do and don't side by side. Would love to see styling videos with using outfits with loafers and ankle boots.
I absolutely loved the format of this video! For us who's working on building our wardrobe staples, its so easy to not really notice those details and end up not happy with our buy. And for me, as someone who moved from a country with hot weather to a country with cold weather, those deeper inputs are really new and being all learned now. Thank you so much!
Love a platform, edgy look. As you get older , looking typical to me ages you. Karen Britchick wears lots of chunky shoes and has for years, they look great on us taller ladies. Platforms as also good if you don’t want to wear heels ( perfect for those longer flare pants)
I bought a pair of combat boots with laces and zips. I did it because I was tired of coming home and struggling to get my boots off. Getting them on wasn’t a walk in the park either. The leather is gorgeous too. (They cost an arm and a leg at net-a-Porter.) They style up with just about anything. On AND off in seconds, and so edgy. I’m not giving these up. I can see the attraction to a minimalist plain pair of Chelsea boots, but I’d get a classic style in brown. Other than that I love your videos Lydia. You’re really helping me with a number of style conundrums and this one has been helpful too.
Cowboy boots will always speak to Americans. They are part of our heritage. I can't wait for Fall season so I can get mine out. We live in Arizona and it's a way of life.
I got hooked on your videos a year ago and have learned so much. You have truly helped me develope my style and curate my new closet. I'm 60 years old and finally feel polished, sophisticated and more myself. I retired so I needed to go into new phase in my wardrobe and you have certainly helped me get there. Keep up the great work and I loved this fall shoe video!
Love this!! Slightly disagree about avoiding the doc martens, though I agree about the style you showed being a little much. I have them in the regular (less chunky) soles and love wearing them with tights and some skirts, or with black skinny jeans and a slightly chunky sweater (jumper)!
Yes I think maybe it depends on the exact style! Also this is just my opinion and that’s the beauty of style, we all love different things and wear them differently! ❤️
I’ve been watching deconstructing videos of famous makers. A better boot without the yellow stitching can be had for less money. You’re paying for the name…these are not your mother’s Doc Martins…which she probably still has from the 80s. I have a pair of Timberlands that I’ve had since the late 80s and the soles are flat but the upper is still great…still waterproof. The newer ones mostly made in China just don’t compare. This is true of Docs as well. Even the Made in England variety don’t compare.
From what I can see here, mainly this is what you are personally attracted to, or not. You make a couple of good points but mainly this is just your personal opinion! Many of the items would be perfectly fine for someone else’s taste. You don’t mention that at all during this video.
As a country American girl living in the south, we absolutely adore western boots and they are a staple in our wardrobes. Ankle, mid calf and tall cow girl boots! Are must haves!!!!
I have seen western boots coming in hard as a trend or micro trend… But I understand what you’re saying… Western cowboy boots will never be out of style, depending on where you live, and what you love!
I'm Parisian, and trust me, its when peopne do what they want that they have a real style. From far you look much more industrial with too classic clothes. When they are rules, there is no style anymore.
Interesting ideas. My younger son bought me a pair of Docs for Christmas two years ago after I said I liked his (not platform soles). They have been perfect for the rainy west coast winters here in Canada. Four years ago my older son bought me black leather Van loafers, again great for our rainy fall and winter. In the spring and summer I wear a pink or black ballet flat with criss cross ankle detailing (I have skinny ankles). I don’t like heels of any kind so the ankle detail is nice. It all comes down to what works for your feet…and your climate 😊
Thank you, Lydia. This kind of video is extremely informative to me. Sometimes when I am cleaning out my closet, I ask myself "Why did I purchase this?" It is so helpful to know what a quality is basic, so that you don't go out and waste your money on so many trends that you might not have thought was a trend at the time. Even some of the embellishments I am guilty of purchasing. I think I have a pair of dress shoes with a Diamonte square buckle on it, thank God they are black, and it is a more subtle dark stone on the toe. I like good quality clothing and am so over trend clothing. I feel better in neutrals and basics. But as I get older, I am interested in keeping modern (not younger) but it is so hard to know modern from trendy.
I also love this community here.. esp when I hear ppl talking abt their must haves whether it be Western Cowboy boots, Dr Marten’s or Chelsea boots! I think it’s such a reflection of our environments and even cultural influences! I also respect how Lydia stands her ground on no Barbie core and no red 🙂. For me pockets of red and animal prints are neutrals! 😊 And so are delicate print blouses. That’s where I feel me!! No Manolos for me as well. Sling back kitten heels with socks..it’s dope! 👌 Much love Lydia…❤
I found an affordable ballet flat with the Mary Jane strap at Old Navy for $24. It doesn’t have the little bow and has the square toe. They’re comfortable with cushioning
Unfortunately if you are a size 42.5 or 43 you just don't have the luxury of choosing something that you like. You just have to put up with whatever you can find that fits you. Unfortunately more and more shops seem to have made the decision lately to only stock up to size 41. I love those Other Stories slingbacks, especially as they have a low heel. Unfortunately they only go up to size 41, despite OS stocking other styles in a 42. And as they are a pointed toe I'd probably need a 43. I'm so jealous of people that are able to buy shoes based on what they like! Luckily trainers are fashionable at the moment so I can live in mens trainers.
Love your videos..First one I’ve really been - nope! disagreed with over 50% of the content especially around white trainers…it’s a bit ‘general’. What goes around comes around in fashion and it’s how you style things. Apart from this do love your videos Lydia. Said with love x
Great advice. My big issue is my bad feet. I just can’t do the sling back shoes anymore. No more pointed toes at age 70 years old. Agony comes to mind.
I have taken to Frye Harness boots….good arch support and lots of toe room. The black ones can go from garden to the theater…with a bit of shoe cream. And when looking down at your feet the toe design makes your feet look slim….and mine are not…Flintstone Feet….not Wilma but Fred.
I feel that your style is classic and timeless, which means that what you buy is an investment that will stand the test of time, saving money in the long run. It’s also ok to buy something trendy every now and again if you love it. Very useful advice in your video, enjoyed it.
Great formula for a very informative post! Please continue this way: coats, jackets, pullovers etc just everything😁 Your arguments against are more Important than you can imagine. You are teaching us to choose a good style. Thank you!
You are my "go to" stylist on RUclips. I love your style and presentation. At 54yr old, i dont want faddy trends that last a few month, i much prefer simple ageless outfits that look stylish rather than trendy. 🤗🥰 thankyou
Love this style of video Lydia! You were clear these are simply your opinions about certain items, so I do not understand the negative comments and I hope it doesn’t put you off this type of video in the future. This is a style channel, not a political campaign one, you do not need to please all of the people all of the time 😂. I for one prefer honest opinions versus “nice” ones when it comes to style and the beauty of an opinion is I can consider it and still make my own mind up about my preference 🙌🏻❤️
Interesting I never paid much attention to what "looks" cheap or not vs what actually is. I guess I assumed that if an item costs alot if money it won't look cheap. Thanks for calling my attention to these details.
Great video. I would love to see one on how to pair footware to clothes. For example, the ankle boots with a few different bottoms that work with them etc..
yes I absolutely love this format Lydia! Please give us more ! also when you are decluttering some of your pieces, maybe you could show us what didn't work for you and why and some alternatives? Thank you 💜
Your detailed explanation of what to avoid and why, followed by suitable replacements, was super helpful especially when you explained the reasons behind your recommendations. Looking forward for similar videos ❤
The really chunky loafers and the platform trainers are really practical though. The thicker the sole is, the warmer ( or less cold!) your foot will stay as theres more material netween your foot and the ground. If it's really cold out or snowing then the thicker soles won't be quite as cold on your feet as a more delicate sole. I suffer really badly with cold feet in the winter so I'd rather sacrifice the look a bit to keep my feet warmer! Also the chunkier loafers look better with thick chunky socks.
Your shoe examples and explanations are so helpful! I agreed with everything you said, but needed your help to know what details to avoid and what styles to look for. Shoes are especially difficult because comfort is a real issue for me. I find that my feet do best in quality shoes made with 100% leather. Synthetic linings make my feet sweat and they don’t have enough give. Please, please, please do more videos like this!
This is very helpful Lydia. You did a similar one a few years ago showing the difference between black versus navy trousers that I’ve never forgotten. Happy to see more examples contrasting what doesn’t work with what does. Maybe something on knit outfits as I find them hard to put together properly.
I loved this video! 💕 Great criteria to evaluate or build a fall shoe wardrobe. The elegance and timelessness of simplicity was right on point. I would love to see a video on blazers in the same format. Thank you!
I had a feeling the dr.martens highlighted would be a little controversial for some haha BUT I decided to sell a few pairs of mine (the platform ones) as they have been in a box for a year, i try them on, create an outfit and then won’t go out in them.. but I like the look of them! Instead I’ve ordered a simple, plain leather pair of Chelsea boots from M&S after watching this and I feel better that the wardrobe is minimising and I’ll have a daily pair of Chelsea boots I won’t have to ‘work’ so hard to make work for me in my wardrobe x thank you Lydia
Good video for the differences in styles, but I tend to avoid pointed heels due to having bunions and "problem feet". Also, the larger one's feet are pointed shoes are not the best choice. I agree about "fussy" shoes whether it be color or adornment.
This is what it's like to watch the younger generations fawning over something old that died hard! I am watching Gen z go crazy over the early 2000s styles that are too hilarious for us millennials to take seriously. In the early 2000s, my mom asked me why I was wearing old fashioned "pedal pushers" and I said "ma, these are capri pants!" Now they are called "cropped kick flare" pants.
Thank you, very interesting! I would have liked to have pictures, exemples of how you wear them. Jeans or pants out or in, because I’m not that good in this. 😂
I appreciate hearing your thoughts on a very detailed level. Helpful to consider these specific elements when shopping for similar styles. Sometimes these types of “fall shoe trend” videos are too generic. Thank you!
💯 spot on about everything EXCEPT.. my Dr Martens AND my western boots ! Will never ever EVER give them up 💯 I do, however update them regularly ! Docs are a must for any concert 😉 (Btw.. the long chic pony is very cute !) Try the Moroccan Serum- in a small square pump bottle for flyaways.. You're welcome 😊
Love love love my docs. They are their Chelsea version with yellow stitching. Totally not an issue. I wear them on cold rainy/snowy days. I care far more that the quality is absolute top notch than if there is stiching details personally.
Very good segment, would definitely like more of these. Now I have details to think about while purchasing shoes. I would also love a video showing how to pair boots with skirts, pants etc. I’m especially having trouble figuring out what to wear with fuller midi skirts for fall and winter
Often times it seems I am the only one who lives in a place (Oulu Northern Finland) where the weather during Autums is cold (0-15 Celcius degrees) and rainy. I like loafers but most of those are far to flat to walk with in rain and sleet. Ballet flats and sling backs are downright ridiculous here.
This video was very helpful. I watched it yesterday, and today purchased several pair of shoes according to the guidelines and they honestly look so good . This video saved me a lot of time . I want to see other similar guiding video about bags, knits, pants, jeans and outwear
Lydia, your style regarding classic shoes can be summed up by the statement: "Less is More". Also, the front of the shoe is called the Vamp. You were right on about how many of those shoes looked cheap and I found your descriptions to be excellent.
This was really helpful. I’d love a video on which boots and shoes to wear with different shaped/coloured trousers and jeans for autumn and winter. With a limited budget I struggle to find the most versatile pieces when I need them to keep me warm and when walking distances. Thank you!
So happy to see Mango penny loafers were included in your 'good' list. I've been wearing those like almost every second day since the end of the summer, keep getting a ton of compliments. Even a few people thought they were legit Le Loafer Penny by Saint Laurent.. I'm not complaining about that at all 😉
It's sooo useful to me, explains what I could not get before. Thanks to you it's been a while since I started changing, minimalizing my word robe and as I age I look better, thanks to you and your channel!
It's all about context. I live in New Mexico (US) and the cowboy look never goes out of style here, so it might look like a caricature in London, but where I live I'm going to keep my short cowboy boots. I still like to know what the trends are and incorporate them into my wardrobe as they fit my taste and lifestyle.
I have a pair of cowboy ankle boots in black leather and suede by U.S. designer Ann Mashburn. They are perfection for going to visit my parents on their farm and any other rural outings. There are times when we need to feel chic but look down to earth. Its a tricky line to walk but a fun challenge.
One of my favorite videos, thanks Lydia! This was incredibly useful for people like me who are looking to elevate their wardrobe. It is very important for me to invest in pieces that I know I will be able to wear a lot. Please make more videos like this 🤍 looking to invest in a coat this season so I would love your recommendations.
I like how you have added what to replace instead - very helpful. I was looking for a boot that would last year without going “out of style” and chose Dr. Martens however these have the black stitching as I wanted something minimal.
Currently I am stalking a pair of pointed toe slingbacks with a medium height block heel. Pretty specific, huh? But I will keep looking until I find them! Thank you, Lydia, for putting me onto this idea. I know it's something I will wear for years once I find them. ❤
Dear Lydia! This is unbelievable! I was about to head over to your channel and search for a video on fall loafer advice!!! My feed served your video right when I needed it!! Such great content!! Love your channel!
enjoyed hearing your opinions as usual, but this was an interesting watch for someone who picks shoes specifically to stand out and be the focal point of the outfit😂
Agreed! I think the shape and size of a persons foot and one's height play a huge part in the style of a shoe. I agreed about shade of shoe though some colours just make certain items looks cheaper. Only thing I don't agree with her is the jimmy choos they always look elegant and Dr Martens are timeless!
This was a very interesting chat about the “what looks cheap” of various shoe trends. I think I am most excited about your promotion of the “plain white” trainer. I watch other influencers telling me these are “so out of style”. I think the plain white look the best and most versatile, if one is going to wear them in street style! The nuances of the other styles (ballet flats, loafers, boots) are definitely something I will be considering as I move into fall!
Can't wait for trainers with jeans and trousers to go away. I guess it will be over ten years like ripped jeans. So glad that went away. I can just not wear them though.
@@tamikaleeryker Okey dokey. To each their own. I think the comfort and practicality of white trainers with a variety of styles has been refreshing. I am with you on the ripped jeans.
I think this is always helpful to look at different styles and yes, these are your opinions and you have a great style! I think what’s great is that people just need to find things that look fabulous and they feel fabulous in… For instance, I think the ballet flats that you really like feel a bit trendy, and I don’t think they’ll be in style years from now… I perfectly also understand that you are a fashion RUclipsr, and do incorporate and infuse many trends, because that’s part of what you do! And you do it so so well! I’ve always wanted to tell you that you have always stayed really true to your style and I’ve seen that over the years! What I have tended to go for, and they’ve been in style for so long, are just a nice pair of pointy black flats, or camel flats… I think they’re just so timeless… As a woman who has long, natrow feet, I like to show as much of my foot as possible, and these newfangled styles of ballet flats really cover up a lot of your top foot, which I found not flattering at all on me…. They look great on you, though!
As a woman w foot issues (neuropathic pain, lack of balance, high pain in winter) Love my Docs, Taos, bos combats). I adore heels, short & high, but life no longer allows. I'm 60 & fall to spring I'm in combats with thick socks. Love your vids though, and I still want Manolo's slingbacks!
Very interesting format of video, Lydia, thank you🙂, of course everything depends on a personal style, but I can relate to everything you said here and I will agree with many others who asked for more of these videos for different types of pieces, for me it is about coats and in general about autumn winter jackets, thank you❤
Yay 🎉 totally agree 👍..too many times loafers have been touted as the go to shoe, but they can age you, and in middle age please don't add on any more years. Also can cheapen very easily. However get the right pair and you have a very versatile wearable shoe...thank you for your styling advice...❤ thoroughly enjoy your take on style 🦋👌🌿🐨 also..always been a lover of docs ❤❤ the heavy lifters of 😎 💗💗
Lydia, I thought this video was brilliant! To me, the most helpful parts of it were where you broke down the really subtle details - like the vamp of the ballet flats, the toe of the suede boots - which make one pair of shoes a much better purchase than another. I preferred that to the sections where you put up for example those metallic pink slingbacks or rhinestone ballet flats - which hopefully most of us already know to avoid...! 😂For future videos I would love to see you do the same with knee high boots, jackets (leather/cropped/utility), knitwear, and jewellery. Love your content - keep it coming!
Love your video & the ideas you present! The only problem with loafers is they often have no arch support, though the ones you like are very cute. Personally I think Ballet flats are totally out and look like slippers--you never look dressed up with them. Pinky beige/dusty rose was "in" for walls 30 years ago. Once this colour goes out, this colour will look completely dated--plus I don't think I have seen anyone that looks good in it. The pointed sling back looks great on anyone. Luv them all.
I love my Docs, never giving those up!
I was thinking the exact same thing!!
Just bought the Audrick Mary janes ❤

Out in the ruggedness of the rest of America, these frilly shoes get eaten up quick. I’m gonna hang on to my boots.
Doc Martens started as an industrial boot, however, fashion history shows us there are no boundaries in style. 😎💅

Completely agree, it had to do with personal style, plus I think black does not suit her, she should look to adding more colors
And the trainers , only white and minimal no way
I like a do's and don't presentation. It is also very useful when you put the do and don't side by side. Would love to see styling videos with using outfits with loafers and ankle boots.
Love the video but I have to disagree with the Docs. They’re timeless and always cool.
I agree 100%, your body and personality dictate your style, not your age. I just bought a pair of chunky white sneakers and I'm 37.
@@oldtimesongFlats just look horrid on me.
This Alberta girl is never giving up her cowboy boots! ‘berta proud❤
Ballet flats are great for those with ballerina legs! If you've got cankles or a fuller calf, best to be avoided I think .Great content always ❤
Yes we were ours year round in Northern California but everyone here usually lives on a ranch except for the SF folks moving in.
I so agree...
Agree.
Agree Completely! Exactly how I like to style them too. And so comfy once broken in.
Exactly 😊
Same! From a PNW girl!
Immediately had the same thought.
I have seen western boots coming in hard as a trend or micro trend… But I understand what you’re saying… Western cowboy boots will never be out of style, depending on where you live, and what you love!
I recently bought an embroidered western boot. It’s lovely and I don’t feel like a caricature. But I live in America so maybe that helps.
Right on
I'm Parisian, and trust me, its when peopne do what they want that they have a real style.
This sounds like your personal opinion not “fashion” guidelines
There are no laws in fashion, so it is her opinion
I love the old classic penny loafer and ballet flat. I really like the oxblood color for loafers. Goes with everything.
What makes your loafers so cool is the overall design of the vamp. Little details are what makes them so special. 👍🏼
Much love Lydia…❤
I cannot do ballet flats. They just look out of place on my feet. Love a good loafer
Really like this kind of detailed explanation of the nuances. Super helpful. Thank you!
So VERY helpful! By showing the "no" and the "go", you definitely teach great lessons! Thank You!
Thank you!
A great new format! Sooo helpful 🔥 Please, include knee- high boots next time 🙏
Noted! 🥰🥰
Too late. Already bought my chunky loafers 😆
Enjoy ! I love chunky loafers
Always look forward to your videos. I believe the term is "vamp," which is the top portion of the ballet flat that covers the toes.
Oooh I’ve never heard that before! You learn something new everyday! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you 💜
Ohh I so second this! Love that idea for a video!
Your detailed explanation of what to avoid and why, followed by suitable replacements, was super helpful especially when you explained the reasons behind your recommendations. Looking forward for similar videos ❤
I really loved this video, so doable and no clicking other places ti find where you bought items from. Yes, more of this thanks
Disagreed with some styles on the “dont’s” list. Docs are a classic item, timeless, edgy.
Lydia is a little more on classic style and quiet luxury. Maybe this isn’t your type of fashion?
Lydia, you wear your clothes so well and I do agree with you about this video.
Thank you ❤
The really chunky loafers and the platform trainers are really practical though.
I love hearing different style opinions, I live in Canada so this is refreshing.😅 Love your jacket!!🩷
Omg yes the exact video I needed! For the last couple of months I’ve thought about what to get to update my shoes
Yay so pleased to hear that this will be useful! ❤
Very useful, also because you mentioned cheaper alternatives, will be good to do on boots ( knee ones) and also handbags
Thank you! Noted on next topics!🥰
I found this video very helpful and I would love a series like this. One suggestion would be to do one about handbags. Thank you!
I just purchased platform white sneakers 👟…I’m very short and need extra height 😊. They were not cheap sneakers.
Good video for the differences in styles, but I tend to avoid pointed heels due to having bunions and "problem feet". Also, the larger one's feet are pointed shoes are not the best choice. I agree about "fussy" shoes whether it be color or adornment.
Had both of my bunions repaired. Best thing I did. Wearing shoes more comfortably but no high heels
@@janethurlbrink4753 Was that a painful operation? I've wondered about that. Miss those days of heels but that likely added to my issues.
Your black ballet flat with the strap remind me of the ballet shoes I wore for square dancing 60 years ago. They cost between $3-$6.
Will never ever EVER give them up 💯
I do, however update them regularly !
Docs are a must for any concert 😉
(Btw.. the long chic pony is very cute !)
Try the Moroccan Serum- in a small square pump bottle for flyaways.. You're welcome 😊
… ALWAYS avoid shoes that make you look like you are wearing spare tires on your feet ! … regardless of whether they are trending or not … !
Touche!
😂😂😂 you nailed it!
Oh no! I have a pair of trainers with gold detail. 😮 I do love them and they are too comfy to give up. 😅
Your autumn is my mid winter here in south eastern Australia
Very helpful video! Thank you! Wait for the series =)
The term you are looking for is vamp. The part of the loafer that covers the top of the foot moving toward the ankle is the vamp of the shoe.
Your videos are the best ever ❤ the way u introduce ur topic is so much interesting and ur content is inspiring 😊
Thank you so much 🥰 that’s so lovely of you to say and very much appreciated!
Lydia,
PLEASE write a quick guide/book for those of us with no fashion sense!!!❤❤❤
I would love a video on how to style these types of boots, I always find boot season really tricky to figure out.
I will paint the stitching
Dear Lydia! This is unbelievable! I was about to head over to your channel and search for a video on fall loafer advice!!! My feed served your video right when I needed it!! Such great content!! Love your channel!
Love this new twist of video with more specifics of why certain style doesn't and does work. Very educational. Thanks
"Vamp" Lydia....the top of the shoe is the vamp! Great video - agree with ALL (now to find a great ballet flat )
enjoyed hearing your opinions as usual, but this was an interesting watch for someone who picks shoes specifically to stand out and be the focal point of the outfit😂
I've been debating about buying a loafer, and after this I know i'll feel more confident about my final choice :)
Those chunky white trainers would work great for arthritic feet.
Controversial one but love it!
Haha do you think? 🙈 Hopefully more useful than controversial 😅 but glad you like it!❤❤
… I DO BELIEVE that a nice updated classic Oxford will be making the scenes as well … 👍🏻
Please share the details of what you are wearing. That top is fantastic! Thank you!
