@@arcane6144 I think with the money you pay for G-5600, it's worth the buy over DW5600. Not to say that the DW5600 is not good, but it's a no brainer purchase if you appreciate the solar charging functionality, world time, auto light & power saving. I mentioned those things because those are the features that should get ticked in my personal checklist when buying a G-Shock.
If I was a billionaire, this would still be my main watch. Comfortable, reliable, beautiful (I think), and tough as nails. I upgraded from my 7-year old non-solar to this one yesterday. So happy

I own a DW-5200 from 1984 and that was the ‘hero’, of the hockey puck video fame, that boosted the sales of the first G-Shock, DW-5000, which did not sell well, almost killing of the G-Shock before it started. The hero look has endured through the DW-5600C and E ever since. The dash of blue just works.

Just got this one! I now have almost every “U” variant. Love them so much. Such fantastic daily watches. My only complaint is that for costing almost $100 and being a 3496 module it uses the same stamped back plate as the DW-5600E rather than the machined one of the GW-M5610U to which it is more similar.

I had my Rangeman for about 4-5 years, great watch. Problem with the triple sensor, watched a repair video, then ended up bricking it after taking it apart. So bought the G-5600ue-1, felt quite small, especially the strap, not as comfortable. Ended up looking around at different options and landed back on the same Rangeman 9400-1 black with red accents and positive display. Had it for about a year now, great tough watch. Gifted th G-5600ue to a friend who loves it. Sticking with my Rangeman for now, although tempted to get a smaller G-Shock like the one in the video or a Casioak.
I bought GW-B5600-1B only for chain-like bracelet. But I can not stand its reverse black display 🥶 Now plan is to get this model ans swap bracelet. Hope color and surface match. Thank you for review!
Hello! I just ordered this model and am very excited for it to arrive! I already have the classic GWM5610-1(older version) and it's awesome in itself especially the legendary EL backlight. I'm happy about the new features of the updated model but LED backlight doesn't matter much to me. Why would I need to worry about a backlight supposedly being more efficient when the watch is tough solar? LED backlighting would more than likely be more efficient for a regular battery powered gshock, that I can understand. My uncle(now deceased) gave me a GW-M850 back in 2007 and I've used that EL backlight constantly and after 15 years still working like a champ but battery replacement may be needed soon🤷🏾♂️😂? Really looking forward to my G-5600UE!
Good point. However, some of us tend to work indoors. So the battery on solar may not always be charged to the maximum level. Also, LED is easier on the eyes (personally).
@@juliandl7983 Sure thing, that was my personal opinion. I don't wear mine outside a lot but some but I make sure that they're in a decent window area of sunlight or near a bright led lamp source. This will keep them sufficiently charged at a decent level. Any light is better than no light. Gshocks, they're all still great!

I left it in the sunlight for abt 15 minutes and it went to 'H' for like about 10minutes and thereafter returned to 'm'. What could be the problem, should I return back to Amazon?
The 5610u has the 3495 module this has the 3496 module...difference being multiband 6 on 5610u ...oh 5610u slightly smaller too...subjective i guess....The 5610u in my opinion is the very best square still to date for the money...Saying that this G-5600ue has that awesome DW5600 look still...

Just an observation i also have the 3160 module G5600 about the "power saving" mode it should be a Default feature bec who would want their Watch to "Waste power" everyday right? ofcourse there shouldnt be an option whether you want to Save Power or Not bec thats the Point of saving power, obviously is to SAVE or minimize the power usage😆
Hello i have the same watch and when i check the name of the module through the diagnostic menu it says 3495 but on the stainless steel case it says 3496. Should this be a concern?
@@juliandl7983 the distance between buttons on each side looks like in the 5610 series.. too big of a gap, compared to the 5600 and 5000 series. I understand they have the same dimensions, but I was referring to the distance between buttons on the sides.
@@juliandl7983 you can still go for the GW-B5600 series. they have the same gap as the g-5600E. I'm not very sure about the 5000 series, but from what I've see, they have a smaller gap then the 5610. Love these watches.
The atomic timekeeping is restricted to a handful of countries, all in the northern hemisphere only. My opinion is that, it is not really worth the money, but that's up to you.

GW-M5610U has the module 3495. The only difference between 3495 and 3496 is 3495 has radio signal receiver. 0:19

You have to wait 11 hrs in H to get it charged fully in indirect sunlight (50k lux)
How long is the auto light? 3s? 1s? Can you set that?
Is the LCD screen easier to see than the older model? Some say the LCD on the DW-5600 is easier to view in sunlight or on angles than the G5600.
Dw5600’s display is a tad more crisp.
Module 3496 no longer has the alert flash. When the alarm went off, the light blinked too. At least I didn't find how to activate...does anyone know?

They should have kept the proportions of the G-5600E - the buttons are to far apart. That is why I would go for a 5000 model.
G5600UE and older G5600E have the same dimensions.
