I have big wrists and access to multiband signals, and i still went with this watch. Ive had mine for about 2 years now and its definitely my most worn watch, and possibly my favorite. Theres something so endearing about a piece of kit thats so simple, practical and effective. Hope yours has treated you as well.
I have this watch and it's great. Sold my Samsung smartwatch as i got sick of charging it and it running out of charge half way through the day when i forgot. Now I just wear this thing, sleep with it on, shower with it, get it covered in mud when I'm pressure washing...it's just a no-maintenance thing that tells the time.
I bought one of these a few months ago. It is too smart for an old guy like me. Amazing what technological advances have delivered - especially solar! I miss the classical old analog watch where you just looked at the hands and wound it up daily while drinking your tea. Time moves on and waits for no man. An excellent watch with precise timekeeping....but what about your soul?
You can still buy new automatic movement watches like that, i own a Seiko one thats waterproof and costs about $150. Lots of brands still make them but Seiko seems to be the only brand making cheap tough ones good for work, rather than for display. The "Seiko 5" is a good one, or the "Seiko 5 Sports" if you need a waterproof outdoor one. You can find plenty of them new or used on ebay
If you are outside the atomic time signal, this is the best value watch. I did buy a GW-6900 for $58 USD in Oct. '23, but that is slightly bigger and not as subtle design.
👌👌Now how is your G5600 working ? 🙏 ... .and now in 2022 ..is there any other G-Shock solar watch better than this watch within same price range with same features. please reply🙏
Hello! After how long should we have to change battery? Is that expensive, I mean the battery? Someone told me that this strap is better than the DW one. Is that true? Do you think it’s worth to buy a solar one? Congratulations and thanks a lot for the review and your attention.
So far I have not changed the battery but as I read on some forum, it should last between 7-10 years. I don't think the battery is very expensive. Around $10 a piece.
Thanks for the video! I would really like this model for the solar option. The radio signal in the other model doesn’t interest me as it is not usually available where I live. The problem is that this reviewed model doesn’t seem to be available in Europe and import prices can be around €90.
After wearing mine for a few months, I notice that the reading of power supply has gone from high to medium. It is getting plenty of sunlight. Why is this happening? Anyone else have noticed the same?
It is normal. If you are an OCD person (like me) and you want your watch power indicator to appear in high capacity, you may have to leave the watch exposed to the sunlight (50,000 lux) for 2 full hours...and your watch will be scary hot. So not worth it, make peace, and don't look at the power indicator bar so much. LOL
Can one set interval timers on this watch. I had a timex watch which could. I mean if I need to do 4 work sets of 3 min and 2 min rest between them. Can that be set in this watch? If not, can you suggest a watch which can?
Even to have ordered this watch from Amazon after seeing your video clip. But I'm facing issue with day and time settings. Can u plzzz help me out with the another video how to set day and time ??????
Should be quite straight forward. Just press and hold the adjust button. Unlike regular square G-Shock, you will need to hold it for a few second to get into the the adjustment mode.
i think the ctl1616 inside this watch can easily last for 10 years. the replacement is quite expensive i think around rm60 or so. i still like g5600e even though my current daily wear is the gw5000. it's lighter and you don't have to wear it tight because it doesn't wobble as much as heavier watches.
Can confirm, i got one around 2011 and its still going with the same battery, nothing beats being able to turn on the light as many times as you want without having to think of depleting the battery :)
I recently purchased this watch online after unboxing I noticed watch strap it mentioned "Casio China". Can someone please tell, is the watch original??
I'm kind of confused. In my country this watch DOES NOT have a solar option. I assume it's a European thing :( Even if you click on the BUY THIS WATCH link in the article posted in the description it will take you to a product without the solar function. So what's the exact model number for the watch ion the video? Thanks for the review btw. Edit: I've found it. Do you think that this having no multiband is a deal breaker? I’m really debating whether to get this since it is cheaper and I already have the money to purchase it or should I save more for the GW- M5610 for its atomic time feature?
@@GFWatch I’m from the Philippines and we also don’t have any towers so yeah, the atomic feature is basically useless here. Thank you for your response, I’ve made the decision to go for G5600e now. 🙌
How durable are they because i have a DW - 5600E and i got it because it has been crushed by a truck but since this has solar power im wondering on which is best can you tell me please
Depending on where you live, atomic timekeeping may not be a useful feature to have. Unless you live close to the radio towers used to synchronize your G-Shock’s time, it will behave strangely or not work at all (towers located in US, UK, Germany, China and 2 in Japan). In the US there was talk about defunding our radio clock tower in Fort Collins, Colorado and if that were to happen, atomic timekeeping would be useless in my country. Thankfully we still have access to the signals, but who knows for how long. The model shown in this video is probably the best choice for me for the reason stated above, as well as the simplicity/functionality this timepiece still offers.
I just bought the 5600UE, main differences (I) can display ddmm or mmdd, 5600E can only display mmdd (ii) 5600UE is having white LED, selectable time of 1.5 or 3secs, 5600E has the classic blue green EL, fixed display time 1.5 secs (iii) the 5600UE 5 selectable languages of days of the week, in German, Spanish, english, Russian , French and Italian (iv) local time is displayed in the stopwatch and the timer functions, 5600E does not show local time in the 2 functions. But the 5600UE looses the 1/100 sec reading after the first hour of stop watch run (v) the local time is easily swapped with one of the world time zones , no need to reprogramme to the new time zone when travelling (vi) different watch modules between the 2, 5600UE introduced on July 2021 I think. Hope these info helps.
Where I live, there's no towers here. I went for this and saved money. It's the exact watch except the atomic function. It's a quartz watch so the time is accurate enough just need manual adjusting once a month but that hardly takes a min
So it's the same as the GW-M5610 (I believe GW-M5600 is out of production) but for people who live far away from the atomic towers, and without the iconic red strap. And its cheaper. This watch is a good option
I have owned dozens and dozens of G-Shocks and now I have gone back to this model.
