Cat 740 Rock Truck Brake Rebuild

This Cat 740 40 tom articulated rock truck was having a problem with the low brake pressure warning buzzer and light coming on while pressing the brake pedal, we tested the pump, the pressure relief valve and the brake oil accumulators, they were all checking out ok. We then disconnected and capped the brake pressure line at each wheel, one at a time, until we found the wheel that we determined to have the issue, as with that line capped the rest of the braking system worked correctly,
So here is a video of us disassembling and reassembling the wheel, planetary and brake unit.

1800 for that stupid ring? Buy some low alloy steel round stock like T1 and make your own on a lathe. I can't imagine it would be harder than 40 rockwell.

It’s not just the ring it is the whole seal assembly. And yes that is way too much money for it.

I must have lost my white gloves and lab coat, I have been installing duo-cone seals for 35 years like this and it seems to work for me.
