Thanks Darren, good to see you active with these video's again and looking and sounding well, which I hope you are. A great video, cheers, all the best.🍷🍷
Yay Dazza's back! You look really healthy - I'm really hoping I'm right about that. Thanks for your new ace videos! It made my day to see you back Darren :)
well... as a Cubase user literally from day 1 I wouldn't subscribe to that 😁 Steinberg came up with loads of innovations in their early days and the piano roll and VST were probably the most impactful concepts and ideas, but all I see in recent years is them trying to keep up. I for one didn't had the urge to upgrade since 2007.
@@CirTap I've been using cuabse profesionally since the first version came out. Our production house also has Protools, and Sonar, and I have used Ableton, Reaper, and Mixbus, and I stand by my previous statement as a working professional with my DAW useage spanning back to when Cakewalk and Cubase were strictly midi. By your own admission you have not upgraded since 2007, and perhaps your needs are more limited and that path suits you, but I produce content for income, write music, orchestrate and arrange for others, and Cubase has been the leader in most areas for decades.
Good morning Sir. I just want to thank you for sharing the information about Cubase 14. I appreciate you telling us beginners your views & knowledge on or about upgrading to Cubase 14. As a matter of fact I just found out about Cubase 14 this morning and (it was a very pleasant distraction from hearing about that Ass Hole Trump this morning). Anyway thank you an again for sharing your knowledge on the upgrade. I wish you continued success with all of your future musical videos and endeavors and I also wish you continued success financially as well. Have a wonderful day.
A bunch of old men complaining. I for one, think it's the best update in years. And I'm not an EDM or beatmaker. For gods sake, just being able to reorder mixer channels is a god send. And modulators and probability features are a fantastic addition.
Same here….. I’m an old guy who has loved every Cubase upgrade or release since Cubase 5 VST32 (Pre SX version) released in 2000. I record rock music but love using some of the other features to record some cool songs I’ve written…
And like Kontakt 8 can now doI might add! And yes, as a long time KK user, I can say that I largely avoided mediabay because of this. I got spoiled. What can I say.
The good news is that all the DAW makers are taking turns stealing the best features from each other and by way of osmosis, all of them are getting better and better! I use Studio One and Cubase, and the feature on this update that actually first sold me was the implementation of DAWPROJECT support which means I can swaps projects back and forth. At first blush, it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped but I think it will improve over time and we all should be able to traverse mutiple daw's (with one project format) in a world where creators record their own product on all number of platforms. So good on Steinberg for having the foresight to do that. It might end up being a tipping point for others to get on board and then we all win. Bitwig, S1 and now Cubase is a good start.
I had to laugh when you said "the worlds mist boring drum pattern" because my brain had literally heard it and added "Billie Jean's" bass riff! Might be boring but it made money!😂
some more info to my previous question: Balcan Tunes are not just simply oriental overall but sometimes a mix of two different styles : some chords f.e are wetsren while the melody playd is a very oriental and Presonus is simply unable to recognise there are two different melodies that are to be quantised to the same beat. You have ZERO way in Presonus to change anything : it just quantises all the same way and the Oreintal Sounding melody is gone ... this is the main thing i wanna know whether Cubase 14 has a Feature that allows me to set it up how to quantise things so that the oriental melody keeps being orental ( i was working on a beat resently and it just doesnt allow me to quantise it the way it shall be but it simply turnes it into something i wanna flea from it ) Please tell me how this is set up in Cubase and feel free to even school me " you need to do this or that " . I am not a proffesional but maybe a medioscre if at all so any new stuff i learn or can learn is more then welcomed Thank you PS: one mo sub and a like allready done
Haven't been recording in my studio for awhile. Thought I'd try Cubase. Usually I use PT or Logic. Cubase 14 trial was kind of clunky to install and I was using Tonex pedal as interface so kind of unusual setup. After investing 2 hours, I was not digging the install and it was difficult to get devices to work. Soooo I tried the newest version of PT trial version also. Installed super fast and worked straight away. Just going to keep going with PT and Logic.
Hi and Thank you for sharing but i have a question which i sort of cant get my head around. Currently i am a Studio One user but for the last 2 years i am thinkin of changing to Cubase. Now here is what i want to know: i play Balcan Tunes beside Rap and the like ( not that i am that good of a singer but i can make music if i have time ). Now under Studio one there is absolutly no way to quintise more Turkish sounding melodies and beat and i wanna know is this different in Cubase ? In studio one i tried all the possible Quantisation modes and none of them does the job and instead of Turkish or Oriental soundig songs, it just quantises everything differently from how they were playd and this is for me a sbolute no ! because my music is Balcan and we have beside Typical Western Music styles also that Oriental sound. So can you tell me how the Quantisation in Cubase is gonna work for me and this purpous i need it to ? please feel even free to school me if and how i can do that on Cubase Thank you Greedings from germany
Since when cubase stepped down from being a top gun? Studio One founders were Cubase programmers way back then from when Yamaha acquired Steinberg, These group of programmers went their way to later make their own version of Cubase. None of the features that people complain about that they want to add to Cubase, I've never needed for me to do any type of production since 1994. All "DAWS" after Cubase, are to be thanking Steinberg for their innovations and for having VST as an open source tool.
@@BenCaesar there is a difference between vst effect and instrument. the mix console shortcuts for undo and redo work with vst effects including 3rd party plugins. Currently you can tweak a knob in Valhalla Vintage verb and revert it back to its previous position but you can't tweak a knob in xfer serum or any other synth / instrument and then revert it back to its previous position (in cubase 13 and 14 so far). You can only do. this if the plugin offers that function. VST instrument undo / redo is no longer a native cubase function. You could do this easily in cubase 12. For some reason they decided to remove this (they claimed it was a bug). Instead of fixing that issue they removed it entirely.

to be honest i lost cubase pro upgrades from 11pro, i have been upgrading 1 by 1 since cubase pro 5 and now looking the amount i have spent is just crazy, if i want to upgrade to 14 pro i have to pay almost 300 bucks that's very dishonest and greedy from the developers, they know they are targeting the users who had support them since the beginning, they have all the data of users like me and everyone, and users that have spent so much on cubase pro upgrades surely should had some benefits of low prices at most 100 bucks, if you buy a full version of cubase pro 14 will cost you exactly the same i have paid decades ago with cubase pro 5, im done upgrading cubase because of these price practicises. Looks nice tho, but the fact i wont be able to use literally hundreds of VST2 plugins that i bought and use on regular basis is surely a deal breaker to me....Jezzz whats going on with Steinberg, who are making these decisions?..they went full woke and progressive? calm down and good luck

Hmmm, all in all a pretty crappy update if you're not a 'beat maker' or 'EDM producer'! Let's hope there's plenty of efficiency tweaks and bug fixes under the hood. BY FAR the best thing they could do for us with colour vision issues would be to just bring back the old colour selector which they screwed up a few versions ago. I use an old project which contains the colours i've been using for decades now, by saving it as a default template. Certainly won't be paying £85 for this and most likely will skip this one. Great to see you're back though Darren! Hope things are fully on the mend for you now mate!
Programátori v Cubase nepočúvajú, čo inžinieri v štúdiu potrebujú. Môžem vám dať aspoň 10 typov, ktoré mi v Cubase chýbajú, a najmenej 10 typov, ktoré robia Cubase zbytočným. Ľudia na Kube nechcú robiť to, čo je potrebné, nekomunikujú, neodpovedajú, neexistuje priamy kontakt zo štúdia. Cubase by mohol byť dokonalý, ale nechcú.
It's a bit of a dreary and expensive update for users of Cubase 13.5, more maintenance than anything and, as you say many times "it's only a small thing"... A bit rubbish and expensive.
No not at all. Dev team once again out of touch with end users. The media bay - explorer in 2024 is a joke that you can't drag anything into it - studio one 7 does just about everything from this release. I left this daw way back because the management of the dev team is a joke.
@ believe what you want I don’t care but as someone who’s used them both quite extensively they have similar but different feature sets and any feature set can be better or worse than the other. Cube base is a great music production tool. All I’m saying is the management of the development team is out of touch with the end. User Steinberg has gotten too big too many products.
@franksaraceno1171 I don't care of what you say man. I've used both Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, Studio One. I still own them because of my clients, but Cubase is more than enough " it's the best Draw out there!".
I wish the very best for your health Darren. You always make my day, hope to see you soon!
