Nice tip on the duplicated lanes and the prioritized parameter change. I would otherwise have assumed the sound would simply get doubled with a new lane. Nice one
Very good video! I just installed 14 so I plan on playing with this. Cakewalk Sonar had something like this years ago, which I used, so I am glad to see it in Cubase.
🤯🤯🤯🤯 This is the bomb! I just watched it and I'm absolutely loving it! 🤯🤯🤯 I've been wanting to figure this thing out for a while now, but kept failing to figure out how it worked. And here - such a detailed and accessible explanation! 🤩 He's a genius! I can now create my own patterns and it's so cool! 🎉 Thank you so much to the author for this video! 🙏
Thanks for this video. I've been watching quite a few videos on C14, but so far nobody has really used the new pattern sequencer on a melodic instrument. Most of the features, except for probabilities, have been living inside Cubase for a very long time within the beat designer.
I spent time on this today, its great.. but they REALLY need to add the ability to load and save patterns, even more so as the undo isn't working. The first thing i did was load a kit, then look for preset patterns. Fun making my own, but loading and saving patterns should be default, like pretty much every other beat / pattern device out there.
Wonderful. I love it. This is something I have wanted for along time. Really hope the make a better integration with key/chords so it gets easier to move thing back and forth from midi lanes. One question. What version of Mac OS are you on? Sonoma? Seqoia?
fine fine breakdown. one thing i've been stumped by is that inability to zoom view on longer samples. it's one feature of ableton's drum racks that makes it so much easier to fine tune samples. unless i'm not getting it right, there's no way you can zoom sample view.
Hello @musictechtuition Do you know if there is a way in the pattern editor to "snap to scale". Like in your melodic example here, could you say maybe only show notes in the c minor scale (like you can in the piano roll) within the pattern editor? Or some sort of scale assistant within there? Thanks
Is it possible to use this pattern sequencer also in standard midi tracks? I'd like to use it to control an external hardware drum machine via a midi channel. Thanks.
Only thing I'm not liking about the editor is that when you have a pattern down into the arrange window you can't preview your other patterns anymore. The workaround is to duplicate the track before putting anything in the arrange window so you can use the duplicate track to audition new patterns. Maybe I'm missing something but seems how it is right now.
It is so broken... can't even save patterns (for future projects)? No proper undo? I mean come on, these are just basic features, and they don't even work...
Oh it's so great to see you back for a bit. I hope your health improves...
Thanks for a very good and informative video. 😊👍

Yeah looks to be like the cakewalk step sequencer +studio one which took inspiration from the Cakewalk one too

no undo on randomization drove me crazy last night. accidentally randomized my whole pattern
Super unlock of the pattern editors 🔥🔥🔥
Comprehensive review as expected!
Cubase is the BEST !!!!!!!!!!
That multiple probability is amazing. I wonder if its intentional but I hope they keep it!
Thank you!!!! Very helpful
How can the parameters in the parameter track be reset to the default values?
Thanks for the mention! I am always "home to mr cockup"!😂
Cubase is a king. One question, Can we convert midi event to pattern? I couldn't find it.

Where's the undo? I keep trying to hit undo and it's changing my arrangement window. Even though the Pattern Editor is focused.
There’s no undo for the pattern editor. Really unfortunate. Hopefully we get it as an update during the 14 life cycle.
Can you have different track lengths that get out of synch - like the pattern editor with the old FXpansion Tremor?

How do you assign a 3rd party drum vst to everything ? How would it know what key is a hi hat etc? Also, can this be used with midi tracks?
Это очень интересно. Я понял, что offset это сдвиг относительно сетки, а что такое swing не могу понять. Подскажите, пожалуйста.
i have laptop, i dont know how tue GUI looks, i triedcubase 13 and it was hard to work on laptop, any GUi uptates?

Steinberg like always introduces limited new features 😂 and then it takes 2 updates to actually make them useful
also by then, it will go on sale half off lmao
downloaded 14 elements trial....lmao nothing new here...
...just like all commercial software.
Have you ever seen UlIMITED new features from software vie. Let's get reel here.
Guys! Can't I make Bounce Selection on a Drum Machine?
Cubase14 is one of the best software bt it is difficult to hi light vocal and Ballance as i do in cubase 5 and 12
Why on earth would anyone care if there was a similar feature in GarageBand
Nice to see so many high end updates r coming but music industries has gone way down after the pandemic...
Pathetic !

Cubase didn't copy from Garage Band, but from itself: Beat Designer
