It depends what you plan on doing with oil. If drissling on pasta after it’s cooked then extra virgin olive oil if you plan on cooking a meat sauce for a pasta then probably sunflower/coconut oil or rapeseed if you a fan. My granny who lived to 98 with excellent heart health used lard………yeah lard and use to eat beef dripping from Sunday roast beef at tea time with bread. She also use to home cook most foods and ate lots of veg and fish……plus she never owned a car so walked everywhere or ran for bus….different times we now have central heating and a much easier life where we need far fewer calories than out grandparents but oddly we consume on average more because of all the hyper processed addictive foods such as Pringles

That said its not as bad as other methods but its not cold pressed which is the gold standard for seed oil production. Furthermore, most avocado oil is produced in or with Mexican avocados. The choice of the best cooking oil depends on various factors, including the type of cooking you are doing, your health preferences, and the flavor you want to achieve. Here are some commonly recommended cooking oils and their characteristics:
    1. **Olive Oil**:
    - Extra virgin olive oil is a popular choice for its rich flavor and health benefits.
    - It is high in monounsaturated fats, which are considered heart-healthy.
    - Best for low to medium heat cooking, salad dressings, and drizzling over cooked dishes.
    2. **Coconut Oil**:
    - Coconut oil has a high smoke point and is suitable for high-heat cooking.
    - It contains medium-chain triglycerides, which are believed to have various health benefits.
    - Ideal for baking, stir-frying, and sautéing.
    3. **Avocado Oil**:
    - Avocado oil has a high smoke point and a mild flavor.
    - It is rich in monounsaturated fats and vitamin E.
    - Suitable for high-heat cooking, grilling, and roasting.
    4. **Canola Oil**:
    - Canola oil has a neutral flavor and a high smoke point.
    - It is low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fats.
    - Suitable for baking, sautéing, and frying.
    5. **Grapeseed Oil**:
    - Grapeseed oil has a high smoke point and a neutral flavor.
    - It is rich in polyunsaturated fats and vitamin E.
    - Ideal for high-heat cooking methods like stir-frying and grilling.
    6. **Sunflower Oil**:
    - Sunflower oil has a mild flavor and a high smoke point.
    - It is high in polyunsaturated fats and vitamin E.
    - Suitable for frying, baking, and salad dressings.
When choosing a cooking oil, consider factors such as smoke point (the temperature at which the oil begins to break down and produce smoke), flavor, nutritional profile, and intended use. It's also important to use oils in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
Ultimately, the best cooking oil for you will depend on your personal preferences, dietary needs, and cooking methods. Experiment with different oils to find the ones that work best for your cooking style and taste preferences. 🤷‍♂️

Olive oil is used here in Sicily for frying, it is much healthier than other oils. I used to fry with seed oils because I grew up in the USA, now I don't even buy them ever. We have olive trees we harvest and get our oil cold pressed and this way we are sure of what we are getting. I use delicate olive oil even for baking cakes. I don't understand this idea that it's bad for frying, just don't let it burn and change the oil often.
