Okay before even watching, Robb Flynn and Corey Taylor sound nothing alike
I can kinda hear it during the first couple lines of the verse, barely, I’ve never noticed it in the last 13 years but now that he said something it’s there a little
My thought exactly as soon as I saw this.
He's talking about the back-up vocals.
Even so, if that's what he meant you still don't get that from the title of the video. Coming across the video title first how is one supposed to know its the back up vocals he's talking about?
As far as vocal range goes, I think they are fairly comparable, soft singing and Epiglotal growls/screams etc. are both up there, but yeah, you're right, they dont sound the same
The Blackening is a straight masterpiece. One of the greatest metal albums ever made.
Preach brother ✊
Definitely a perfect album, not a single track on that album that isn’t damn good
Hell, yeah !!!
I saw them on this tour and was in the pit. Total killer vibes.
This whole album is a masterpiece!!!!!
It was voted the best metal album of the '00 if I'm not mistaken 👍🏻🤘🏻
Agreed
It really is a masterpiece. When I got it, I slammed it straight in the car and was floored. Halo followed by Wolves?! Holy shit...
A farewell to arms. One of their best songs. Definitely one of the best metal albums ever made
Still my favorite album by them
Machine Head - Davidian, Imperium, Aesthetics of Hate
He made allreday an Imperium video 🙂
@@Peter-yn9yd then the other two...btw, your grammar is atrocious
Sorry for that. My german is much better 😄
I never get sick of Davidian. Amazing song.
Now we die aswell.
“Clenching the Fists of Dissent”
“Aesthetics of Hate” (Dimebag related)
“I Am Hell”
“Game Over”
Its crazy that there's really no reactions to "game over", that song is badass
Michael Mignone incredible song. Underrated song and album.
Game Over fuckin rules
Chad Blackhawks 81 fuck yeah it fucken rules.
*You should react to the first track "Clenching The Fists Of Dissent" from the album "The Blackening" (2007).*
Probably my favorite machine head album
Halo is off that same album..lmao
@Dutch van der Linde id agree with that! 🤘 I remember seeing them on the lamb of God sacrament tour. Gojira opened! Insane show
@@kyleg-rover7707 *Sarcasm mode ON |: Good Lord, really....| Sarcasm mode OFF......every Machine Fucking Head fan as me knows that. My recommendation went in Alex' direction. Not in yours...*
@@NicholasCorvin hence: "lmao" my guy. If you're so understanding of sarcasm, you shoulda been able to catch that lol
Machine Head is one of the best live bands I have ever seen. This song especially is insane in a live setting.
vanguard102 Dude, especially when they do confetti in that last chorus? Fuck man, I was going to see them in February but I didn’t get to because we had a huge snowstorm here in NY. And now Covid, I won’t be seeing them for a while. Bummer
@@The_JustJoshing I got to see them a few years back at a place called Strummers in Fresno, CA. The place was on 50 people and was on the first run of the Night With tours. So fucking good.
vanguard102 damn
I saw them when this album came out it was amazing!!!
Could not agree more. I saw them on both "Evening with Machine Head" tours and they are hands down the best shows I have ever been to in my entire life.
You`ve gotta do Davidian or Locust now man , MH classics
Yes to this comment!
Definitely Locust..love that solo intro
This whole album is a complete boooomb, so good to hear
If you're going to do Machine Head, Davidian is a must. Start at the beginning.
This is true - not in a gatekeeping way - but to appreciate how far they came and how expanded they became as musicians its such a contrast!
LET FREEDOM RING WITH THE SHOTGUN BLASSTTT
Their hardest song by far makes you want to fight people
I saw that tour when they opened for Slayer. Robb makes people want to fight.
With a shotgun blast!!!
One of my favorite songs ever. Cant gonwrong with any song off The Blackening. Now I Lay Thee Down tells a killer story. Familiar to a degree, but really well written song.
Prefer Unto The Locust. But yeah... Awesome.
@@nickarmitt4722 also a good album. Didnt click with me as much as Blackening. Oh well, different strokes.
Machine Head is on my short list of fave live bands. So crunchy dirty rahhhhh
The last show I caught from them was burn my eyes anniversary in Chicago and it was unbelievable. To top it off rob was sick as hell and I think it was the best show I've seen from them
Lee Winemiller I saw them on that tour in London when some fool fried the mixing desk with a beer, thankfully there was a spare. Love the live, first saw them in ‘97 touring The More Thing Change, have seen them live more than any other band.
I've seen them live twice in Ft. Lauderdale and they put on the best show you can see for 3 hours straight! I last saw them in January for the BURN MY EYES anniversary tour and it was an experience I'll never forget. Halo is my favorite song of all time.
Just do The Blackening in full man. It's a modern masterpiece.
Man you need to do machine head- locust
That song doesn't even need lyrics to tell a story
*yes*
Same band, same album: "Clenching The Fist Dissent"
Best song on the Album
Their best song..
Asthetics of hate is up there too imo
@@mtat5261 Definitely
Best song they've ever done
Do darkness within, you just must... Like this so he can see it
Renato Valent I’m partial to the acoustic version myself
Love the Darkness Within!
This song means so much to me man..... Took me out of depression. I just wish it gets the recognition it deserves....
You MUST react to Aesthetics of hate, 'cause it's a song devoted to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera!!!
Holy shit! Finally someone reacts to Machine Head!! And this is my favorite song by these guys
If you didn’t noticed, this album won almost everything. Best metal album of the year and many others. It’s a masterpiece.
Here are some other cool songs by Machine Head you should check out
-Locust
-Davidian
-Is there anybody out there?
-Now I Lay thee down
-Be still and know
-Ghosts will haunt my Bones
-Old
or the latest release
Wolves!!
I love beautiful mourning
We need whole "Burn my eyes" album reaction
One of the best albums to see live. There's no let down in the pits for that album.
NO WE DON'T!
@@KeithDaviesMusic why? I don't really understand what you want to say
I wonder when he will finish his reaction to ”.5: The Gray Chapter” 😂 if he ever will. . .
@Big Homie Steve The Metal Head hes finally getting back to it lmfao
Darkness Within, Is Anybody Out There?, Descend The Shades Of Night, Circle The Drain...just please.
Davidian, block
In the presence of my enemies
I agree. Darkness Within and Descend the shades of night are very good choices for Alex to do next
Oh man, Darkness Within stands out to me, although I admit I'm not familiar with a couple of the others. I need to dive back into Machine Head. My brother introduced them to me years ago but I never listened to everything there was. Then I heard Darkness Within randomly and fell in love with the energy.
There's so many good songs dude, Machine Head is definitely one of my favorites since Supercharger when I found them, but Darkness Within is definitely one of my favorite songs ever made.
Neeeeeeed to listen to
Machine Head - Aesthetics of Hate
Fromthis album as well!
Do it for Dimebag!! 😭
So I had to watch this twice because the first time I was to busy heading banging I missed his reacting.
Machine Head - Imperium
Trivium - Shogun
He did react to Imperium. That was the first and only Machine Head song he'd reacted to up until this video.
I almost had the same problem 😂 😂 🤘
Vile course he did hahah cheers dude
you was headbanging to it, i was twerking to it 🤣 🖤 me some machine head
This is my all time favorite band man. Machine Head is just raw anger.
As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left. Then a follow up reaction of As I Lay Dying: The Sound of Truth. The videos go together and are amazing!
One of these days it’ll happen lol
Dude yes!!!!
Just do it Alex... poor guy has been commenting this for months!
Yess
I think maybe we should boycott Alex until he listens to As I Lay Dying just for Ryan's sake. I mean I understand Tim Lambesis is a fucking idiot but that doesn't change Nothing Left's place as a great metal song.
FINALLY he's done some more machine head!!!
MH deserves more reactions, at least for the songs from Burn My Eyes, Through the ashes of empires and The Blackening albums, legendary albums.
One of my favourite songs. So happy you did a reaction of it, you have to check more songs by Machine Head, they're a great band
Robb does NOT sound like Corey hahahaha. He’s a sick vocalist though
No he don't lol but i get why he put it in the title.
Why are you everywhere lmao
XCryptopsyX I don’t know haha.
Finally! Machine Head is an experience on technical music! Any song you grab whether it be Davidian, Asthetics of Hate, Old, Imperium, Blood Sweat and Tears, From this day, Locusts, Now We Die.... .... will fill you with power
Machine Head - "Sail Into the Black" and "A Farewell to Arms" are definitely worth checking out as well.
Honestly Sail into the Bkack is my favorite track by Machine Head.
Only complaint is the intro
With sail into the black is Nice, but long af. Sometimes i skip to the insane drumming/part Where the Song actualy starts.
React to "locust" "be still and now" "now we die" and my favorite song of all history of music "darkness within"
I am so fortunate. I saw them in Tampa for their 25th Anniversary Burn my Eyes tour in Feb before the world went to hell. F’ING AMAZING.
If you like Trivium, you're gonna love this. It's basically a heavier, groovier thrash band. You can react to :
Clenching the Fists of Dissent
Aesthetics of Hate (video featuring Trivium, Gojira, and many more)
Now I lay Thee Down
A Farewell to Arms
Imperium
I Am Hell
Locust
Darkness Within
Game Over
Now we Die
And from their 90s Pantera-like era :
Davidian
Old
Ten Ton Hammer
The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears
Yes!!!!
This is a modern metal masterpiece!!!!
Yes!! 🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻 their first album Burn my Eyes really changed metal music imo. You need to check out Davidian from that album. That’s the song that started it all! MH 🤘🏻
YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! He finally did this reaction. Alex, this was my song suggestion during one of your last livestreams and your reaction was totally what I expected. Coincidentally, I was listening to this album on my way to work last night and then happened to see this video pop up in my notifications. Damn glad you loved it and you definitely need to check out more Machine Head. In particular, any and/or all of the songs from when Phil Demmel and Dave McClain (now former guitarist and drummer who were on this song) were members of the band. I was lucky enough the first time I saw Machine Head live was during their tour on this album. And they absolutely destroyed the stage and the crowd.
This song really showed off Adam Duce's abilities as a bassist, thoughtful and intricate parts but also straight up blasting it when needed.
You should react to "Wintersun - Time" (Live Rehearsal from Sonic Pump Studios)!!
you should react to "beautiful mourning" and "old" by machine head next... they're fire 🔥 maybe "now we die" too
I saw these guys on this tour. Kicked it backstage with them. Got to watch them sound check for an hour, then saw the show. What a night.
I've only been requesting this for 2 years and of course you do it when I'm out of service
Ahhh finally, loved that you've finally got round to MH and especially the Blackening. It's the gold standard of Metal albums. You can't go wrong with anything else off the album. As good as it gets in the past 20 years of metal
10:47
"He really sounds like Corey Taylor"
Nope.
So glad you reacted to this song, and THANKS for the 9 minutes version 🙏
Machine Head is really one of my favorite bands. Please do more from Machine Head!!!!!!
This is such an amazing song and I was luck to see Machine Head play this live three times when they came to the UK. Also, a fun little story, when a mate of mine was over he said “ I’m gonna learn that by midnight. The solo resulted in him going through five sets of guitar strings because he would get near to it and they would snap lol.
"The older bands"... well shit Alex. Make a guy feel old over here...
Wanna really feel old? The 90s were 30 years ago...
Would be awesome to see you do a full album reaction to "The Blackening" it is a genuine masterpiece
Your face throughout the whole solo was priceless. I love it too though don't worry lol.
Woohoo gladto see Alex react to Machinehead! Finally.. i can have a dope ass day!
I seen this band live ten years ago and I think this was one of the songs they played that night.
I recommend you listen to the entirety of The Blackening album, maybe do a reaction video of that or alternatively just do a reaction video to the song Aesthetics of Hate if you haven't done that already.
Or the whole album! 🤘🏻
You should have said that Cory Taylor sounds like Robb Flynn front man of Machinehead seeing that these guys were around way before Slipknot. Just saying.
Not true, MH debuted in 1995, around same time as Slipknots Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat album as Corey Taylor was shifting over. CT did a lot of vocal work before that too, just like Rob Flynn from MH.
Yeah sure, Slipknot only really went anywhere a couple years later with the Self titled album in '99, but regardless, this guys are the mid 90s og's.
And anyway, MH had most of their respect lost in the late 90s and early 2000's when Rob took them really far into the Nu Metal realm with The Burning Red album.
Soz for the bible btw lol, I just know a hell of a lot about these bands, MH and Slipknot are og's to me, both side by side cemented my love for metal when i was a young teen
@@desantos1234 fair enough, I'm a metalhead from the 80s and only really listened to Machine Head because of the killer guitar riffs. Slipknot is okay for me,just not my thing. I give everything a chance and have even been into pagan folk music recently.
Each to their own.🤘🤘
I don't think they sound alike at all personally.
@@rodneypayne4827 yeah, thats fair enough dude, I understand why a lot of metalheads wouldn't like slipknot, in all honesty their music isn't really one of my favourites in terms of metal. Im only really a fan still because they are og's to me and I stay loyal, but I most definitely prefer music from bands like Sepultura, especially their late 80s and early 90s stuff, probably the band with music I consistently enjoy and am ever impressed with.
@@STR8CLAPPINCHEEKS yeah, totally different metal genre's tbh. MHs original stuff was solid dirty Groove Metal, more comparable to Pantera than Slipknot
So glad I persevered with badgering you to react to Halo, it is a masterpiece of musicianship, a true piece of magic by a truly talented band. Halo is the jewel in the crown of The Blackening, the opus from their crowning glory. So stoked you finally found it.
I'm so happy you finally reacted to this song. I've been requesting this since you started reacting to metal. I'm glad you really liked this song, and I hope you check out more of their catalogue.
Uhhh sounds NOTHING like Corey... Good day sir.... I SAID GOOD DAY!
But fez
I congree
Nothing like corey
Please check out Imminence--"Infectious" !! I'll suggest for a year if I have to, I've done it twice already. Please don't make us wait for this one alex!
be still and know, darkness within, and locust.....MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!
Takes me back! Birmingham rock clubs, end of night, stuck to the floor just waiting for soad to end the night out
Machine Head - Darkness Within! It's basically about finding peace through music when religion and faith don't come through. It's something I can relate to a lot since music is one of my main gateways for stress.
On another note, Trivium's Shogun album would be my personal recommendation. That album really has no weak points and generally just has a special place in my heart.
There's a lot of meat on the Machine Head bone. Check out "Imperium"
So good to watch that. Makes me wish I could go back and listen to it for the first time again. The whole album is an absolute masterpiece.
Beneath The Silt and Here Comes The Flood are pretty solid songs from Machine Head
Love Machine Head. I wanna see you react to Beyond The Pale or Now We Die,
" Ashes To Ashes , The ocean crashes. Louder and louder it cries. Over and over the sands wash over . Facing , embracing the tides"
Beyond the pale is soooo good
Now I Lay Thee Down, is good too
Alex it’s sherbert, but you definitely need to check out “Darkness Within” by Machine Head
Love your videos man I find them very entertaining 👍
They definitely subscribe to old school songwriting styles- epic riffs, duelling guitar sections, solos, breakdowns. It’s a throwback in the best sense.
Yup, the twin leads are a good example, definetely a nod to maiden and Metallica and so on
You should really check out some fear Factory. The industrialists, power shifter, mechanized. Just to name a few of their many fantastic songs. Also love so much machine head and that’s how they ended up as my shoulder tattoo. Please check out machine head’s “in the presence of my enemies “
You e got to check out the first album “Burn my eyes”. Everything after that is so-so at best
Alex: that drumming thing you were trying to describe? Drum fill. (The last fill starts with a military snare drum roll.) The drummer is killing it on blast beat double kick drums. (Drummer myself.)
"That song was a goddamn rainforest" I love it.
You will go crazy of you React to "Now We die" from them!
That song is sooo good!!
Do Davidian or Beautiful Mourning by Machine Head
Magnificent suggestion !
Hahaha...and again an awesome and funny reaction. Me and my daughter are enjoying it ...once again🤘🏽😅
Having seen this song live at download, it hits different
Amazing album overall, up there with the best of them, looking forward to this 🤙
Cuz you mentioned corey, if you didn't know. He released another track from his solo album, the song call Hwy 666
You should react to some Sepultura songs 🤘🏼
I second that motion gotta go with Roots
I third that great band all around
I fourth that
Dude! Finally! I asked you to do this tune a looooooong time ago. Machine Head is killer. Thank, Brother.
My favorite thing about Machine Head is most of they're songs have so much diversity.
Hey Alex, I saw you reacted to Uprising by Muse, will you react to Knights pf Cydonia?
You need to react to Not Falling by Mudvayne and Remedy by Seether. You need more Mudvayne, Seether, and Shinedown.
Seether just released a new album too. That first song...
No one. Literally no one needs more seether. Or shine down. Ish.
@@billstowing9942 The first Seether was great, second one good but too many poppy songs. Once they dropped the radio friendly shit they got better and the last one before this new one was amazing.
Man I still love your fucking reactions. Best reaction channel deadass
MADE MY DAY THANK YOU
Where owls know my name by Rivers of nihil pleeeease
Ahh man react to Darkness Within from Machine Head, it's absolutely magnificent as well!
Dude! I was just thinking after I watched a different reaction to a song that you would love Machine Head... and BAM!
Absolutely love it alex!! Fucking brutal.
Its so awesome to see you reacting to the stuff I grew up on bro..
Chimaira are worthy of your time mate
Too many songs to recommend bro but my personal favorite is pure hatred.
React to ,,Metalingus". You should do reaction to this song
Alex!! Please react to Disturbed’s Droppin’ Plates. Or maybe the Sickness album for a monthly album reaction.
I second this notion.
I can’t imagine not listening to this the day it came out! Guess I’m a fan....
🤘🏻
Robb is the voice you'd want to lead you into battle knowing you might not make it back, but he made you feel like nothing can stop you.
Another “halo” you need to react to is Halo - soil, it’s up there with the definitive nu metal tracks
That song and Redefine are like..their only "hits"
Just like Thornley's "Easy Comes"
Kyle G-Rover some of the best tunes are one hit wonders, I love them. Sunna-powerstruggle was another.
Loads of them being played out in the metal clubs still to this day
@@BurpleRX7 I agree 100 with ya my rx7 guy lol
Hi Alex.
Please react to Avantasia: the scarecrow or the raven child.
Greetings from Gremany
Hi from France Alex, (I am a metal head for sure) it's about few month I follow you on RUclips and you finally react to one of the best Machine Head song ever... I used to watch them 3 years ago in gig in Geneva (Switzerland) next to my place, and it was f..ckin awesome. I really appreciate your work, your open mind and hability to enjoy "spontaneously" (not sure this word exists) the sounds you're listening to. But I mean you are learning more and more in your metal journey it's enjoyable and the way you share is admirable. Like another comments, I advice you to react to the 1st songs of Blackening album : Clenching the Fist of Dissent "mind blowing". And next time if you would like to react a French metal band, it will be my pleasure to share you a song from the best French bands. Keep up the good work and receive my best positives vibrations... Up the Iron...
I forgot how sick this was, cheers msn.
React to halestorm uncomfortable
👍
DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS WITHIN DARKNESS WITHIN
At the 1st Mayhem Fest in Chicago I shook Rob Flynn's hand whilst crowd surfing to this song and lost my shoes in the process hahaha
Bro these dudes came through and during this song an older cat in the pit fell and hit his head so hard on the floor he passed out for a bit. The band noticed right away and stopped the show so the guy can get hauled out. Thankfully the dude ended up being good. He actually came back to the show lol
Mad respect for Machine Head these guys are badass. Incredible live as well😁
