    This dude is freaking great! He's the MacGyver of FX! I've seen videos of legit mask makers using crazy expensive foams to fill their masks and stressing out the entire time because the foam can collapse if the conditions aren't right, Allen runs to Walmart and grabs the Locktite gap foam and does a perfect job and fast! I'm certainly not hating on those other artists they are amazing and super generous with their time and knowledge. Allen just seems to know how to get shit done fast and still really good.

    I have some masks that i want to turn into the display foam filled head. I have seen you use both locktite spray foam as well as the home depot sika post fix. What is the better application for someone just starting out. I took some of my old masks and turned them into life sized props this year for Halloween. I just used the foam head. Unfortunately the head is small and does not fill in the mask properly. Then i came across your videos.

    Would it be possible to use this foam head as a means to remake an old mold that is exhausted, by covering the foam filled mask with plaster? If so, would i need to spray pledge onto the latex mask before applying plaster, and how difficult would it be to remove during once the plaster has cured? As always, thanks for sharing.

    What effect does the water spray have on the process? I would've thought it would cause foam collapse.

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  4 года назад +5

      It helps the cure time- the foam uses water vapor in the air to cure- this foam is more dense- so it has less collapse in general.

      latex molds are pretty common still and they hold great detail, just make it thick enough that it does not distort from the pressure of the foam.

      Seems it would work to build layered or heavily built up masks-like your scarecrow mask or maybe a zombie. Inserting a pole or PVC section would make it mountable. I think I just figured out how to do a bunch of heads on posts like in TWD finale from the Whisperers season.

    • @StiltbeastStudios

      much less, its three times as dense as great stuff so there is inherently less collapse.
