these long term reviews are so useful. Most of the time I see reviews that are made right after the first try or first week, but that doesn't really mean much, especially compared to long term reviews. The cracking case is a bit of a disappointment. Even if it's half the price of a MacBook and it still performs well, I still want a good solid laptop for that price
That one spooked me a bit. It's just a bummer that YT kinda punishes long term reviews. If people don't share these kinds of videos, then your channel suffers for not being trendy and popular.
@@SomeGadgetGuy true.. while it's actually way better info than those 1 day/week reviews.. same with creating amazing short films. I see some of the best short films on this platform and they are not promoted because they don't meet RUclips's wishes.

Your script is well written, your positive tone and vibe in this vid and past ones( not all) make me want to watch more but the overall setting/editing maybe? Feels less professional or clean dare i say than dave2d for example. Love the honesty and detailed content though 👌
Yeah desktop mode in Android Q is a really intriguing idea. Samsung Dex is fine for what it is but I hate proprietary crap, I want a desktop mode for my phone I can activate at will with just a normal HDMI connector or something. Then, as you say, a "docking station" that mimics a laptop experience, perhaps, or just a desktop dock so you can do stuff like dual screen and full keyboard and mouse, driven by the phone. There have been attempts at that for years now that have never been wildly successful but there's a case that can be made for it I think. Especially with the way phones are powering up from generation to generation.
It's actually not bad, but if you were working content hard, I'd recommend going with a bigger, heavier machine with better room for cooling and more powerful guts.
@@SomeGadgetGuy he killed his English videos because he said he didn't get any support or feedback from the English speaking community but he would get a lot from his German speaking community, so he decided to focus on them.
So, it's working just by left port? I looking to by Matebook 13, and i would like to use some kind of dock with hdmi, ethernet and power just by one port(left port?).
What do you think about watching movies (like on Netflix) on this matebook? Is that okay? Does this 3:2 display doesn't look weird while watching movies? Cause I think that if movies are in 16:9, it can be hard to watch movies on screen 3:2. 🙋♀️🤔
Great long term review. I like how it is honest together with the tone and pace. Nice to look at. I just wanted to ask if you checked the quality of both rendered videos of the phone and the laptop. Is there a noticeable difference? The difference in rendering time is surprising. Thanks!
I could have explained that a little better. The comparison was conducted by first rendering the video on the phone at the best possible quality PowerDirector can manage, and then trying to match that bitrate and render quality on the MateBook. The MateBook is totally capable of even higher quality renders, but that of course takes even longer, where the compromises of using a mobile app to edit and render aren't as severe as you would think.
I think people should understand that a tablet is that, a tablet ... and a laptop is a laptop. I mean, I know you can use a desktop mode on the iPad with a keyboard too, but that doesn't replace 100% of the work of a laptop, at least in the in the current 2021, it's still not possible on these tablets.
Sounds like the cpu is throttling if it took that long to render. If the fan got loud that's probably what happened. It can also happen depending on the 4k you're rendering to. Not all 4k codecs are the same and you won't necessarily tell the difference by watching on a small screen. Face facts, if mobile phones could render and edit 4k better than a PC, Hollywood would be using iPhones to produce their movies. They don't simply because there's too much detail lost while rendering on a phone.
No. That's taking my argument here to an absurd characterization. That's "debating" in bad faith, when there's no real debate here. I'm OBVIOUSLY not claiming Hollywood should switch to phones. I'm pointing out a consumer tier of video editing, and talking about phone horsepower that consumers will have access to. Especially considering the recent move by Apple to move to ARM SOCs on their products, the conversation we currently have about compute power is ludicrously lopsided. Consumers have a TON of power on tap, and they're not using it. Just because a computer is in a laptop form factor, doesn't mean it will be more powerful than a phone.
