Don Logan is the best most realistic scary baddie of any gangster movie in my opinion (in fact probably any genre). Better than Scarface, better than anyone in Godfather, better than BrickTop, better than Joe Pesci in Goodfellas. The laugh at 0:18 is brilliant and the fact the same guy played Gandhi is incredible.
This was a brilliant film and the many dialogues between Sir Ben Kingsley and Ray Winston reminded me of watching a Harold Pinter Play. It was just like watching live tennis with each other bouncing off each other!
It because he never blinks when on screen. I have watched this film loads of times and I don't see McShane blink once! I may be wrong, but in two critical scenes, the first when he visits Gal at breakfast and the second when he kills tha banker in his home, Teddy doesn't blink.

A fackin toilet
one of the best movies since 2000
The great Jonathan Glazer.
Real dialogue, accurate accents, none of Guy Ritchies mockney bullshit.
@00 Spool Your joking right? Guy Ritchie is a genius!
@@TONYMal-ee3vk ... innit
Guy Ritchie is a genius. End of
@@zedell1233 Geniuses don't make one terrible film for every good one. End of.
Brad pitt and Benicio do a great job in snatch though.
One of the most quotable films ever. I know it word for word. Stunning. Kingsley at his best, and stellar performances from everyone
Kingsley as Don reminds me of a guy I worked with in construction. He was released on permanent parole after doing an 18year stretch. That jerky, unpredictable way, that insane laugh.
I won't mention names in case he ends up on my doorstep like Don ended up on Ray Winstone's door. 🥺😀
He might turn up. Just for the sheer fuckoffness of it!
What a great movie with amazing performance from fantastic actors.
Ben Kingsley is INCREDIBLE - its the most unsettling character I've ever seen in a movie
This is such an underrated movie. Simply amazing.
‘Peaches’ great tune, man. 👌🏼
I’ve watched it several times and will watch it some more.
“I find this astonishing, your amazing, this is astounding”

Two brilliant actors; a beauty of a movie.
I saw this again on DVD recently and it is still a fantastic film. It is surely underrated and is ripe for rediscovery.
The photography of this film Is very well done
Bumflufferies should be in the dictionary
There's time yet man. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's in the urban dictionary. At least it's a start 😂

The acting is this scene is astonishing
Watched it must be 50 odd times xx
Me also and sooon to be again 9n afew hours. Kingsley is the king Midas of film wirld. 📼👑👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎥
FINALLY GOT TO WATCH THIS THE OTHER MONTH (BEEN WANTING TO WATCH IT FOR SO LONG)... AN EL CLASSICO!!!!!!!!
This was a brilliant film and the many dialogues between Sir Ben Kingsley and Ray Winston reminded me of watching a Harold Pinter Play. It was just like watching live tennis with each other bouncing off each other!
Ben’s performance in the film Betrayal was based on a Pinter play. Also a fantastic movie.
Kingsly, Winstone & McShane - that's a no-fail recipe for a magnificent film!
that slight change in his expression at 0:46-0:47, immense
Glazer doesn’t make many films but they all are amazingly shot.
Wow I have been looking for this movie since seeing it on TV in early 2000s! OMG!
One of my FAVORITE movies; Kingsley was an absolute pitbull in this role!
It's to Ian McShane's credit that he actually makes Teddy seem even more deranged than Don...
It because he never blinks when on screen. I have watched this film loads of times and I don't see McShane blink once! I may be wrong, but in two critical scenes, the first when he visits Gal at breakfast and the second when he kills tha banker in his home, Teddy doesn't blink.
Don is more impulsive and quick to react to things but Teddy is quiet and more methodical, they’re the type you want to look out for.
Yes, Kingsley is magnificent as Logan. But great credit should certainly go to Ray Winstone and Ian McShane for their stellar work.
@@floppabingussled There is not a weak performance in the entire film. Even the young spanish kid is believable. What I think is hilarious is th assortment of thieves they managed to cast. I recognise some of the faces from other movies and shows, but it must have been a lark casting the gang carrying out the raid. Every one of them looks like they have done porridge, as the Brits say!
"What are you staring at?" "The back of your head"
I saw this when it came out (on VHS) and I couldn't get into it. Now I watch it and it looks like a masterpiece at every turn. I honestly think it was just too ahead of it's time
Loved when Ben said a monkey can do it thats why I thought of you. Then without missing a beat he retorted "cheers Don"
So brilliant. Freakin love this movie.
Omg I forgot about this amazing film!!!!! Can’t wait to rewatch this it’s been decades
Ben Kingsley as Don Logan and David Proval as Ritchie Aprile in the Sopranos are two of the most genuinely unhinged lunatics on screen. They make you forget you are watching actors. Proper characters. It's also great how they aren't main characters, just enough, never too much.
Cant beat Provals "Manson lamps"🤣
It's da Jackeeet.
Definitely. The acting is so good that you forget it's Ben Kingsley. No make-up to hide the fact it's Ben, just amazing work
A great film with Oscar winning performances from both guys. Brilliantly written and directed.
"Fenks for all that. Fenk you for finking of me"
Fanks 😂
This is amazing. Ben Kingsley is terrifying but it is Ray Winstone's barely surpressed fear (even though the man is physically a lot bigger than Kingsley) that makes the audience believe what Don Logan is capable of.
The build-up to meeting Don was one of the best build-ups to a character in cinematic history. THAT"S what made Don so terrifying
Clever touch by the director /producer when aitch and jackie ask gal if he is definitely retired cos they got a phone call, and gal laughs it off and says yes. But as soon as she says it was Don Logan, Gal and Deedee look sick to their stomach. Immediately the audience think "this don logan guy must be serious"
Big part of it, but not as strong as you suggest.
It's the way he walks and moves that clinches it.
I'm so glad I was a part of this movie.
The writing, the directing, the production.
Working with old friends. It was beautiful.
were you the young boy who "helps him round the house"?
@@JonnyCooper which part of "the writing, the directing and the production" didn't you understand.
@@Billy_Bull_SheeterI understood it, just don't believe it
@@JonnyCooper why not.

I met Ben Kingsley in the street a few years ago. Such a nice guy, we had a little chat about he's films and sexy beast come up as one of my favourites.
One of my all time favorite movies. Do the job
