joel klatt deserves his own show, this dude is a joy to listen to
He has a weekly Podcast called “Breaking the Huddle”! Would recommend watching
He has one lol... how about u look em up
He’s a beast no doubt
Agreed, his arguments are great but I think he’s wrong on this one. Teams can’t lose consistently and getting upset and still be ranked or be ranked over inferior teams
Michigan lost to a top 10 team then Michigan state gets waxed by an unranked team lol I get they beat them and ranked higher then lost to lesser competition
These guys have unreal chemistry. Love watching them every week
Joel is great at articulating the common criticisms we have of College Football especially the playoff
As long as Norte dame and OU are not in the top 4 then got it right.
Yeah, he knows the score. Meanwhile Cowherd ruining Christmas.
I agree, but at the same time he seems to put too much emphasis on head-to-head. You end up with circular references. Penn St beat Wisconsin who beat Iowa who beat Penn State. Auburn is being propped up simply from losing to good teams, they should not be the highest ranked 3 loss team.
In my opinion he has great critiques of CFB, but pretty poor critiques specific to the CFP. There's no win concerning the rankings, and he doesn't provide objective criteria improvements.
Not saying Auburn isn’t good. But they’re being used as a tool in the way a number of sec teams dependably are every year as the season winds down, to help prop up other sec teams who are actual contenders for the highest stakes.
Good ol' Joel Klatt. Him and Cowherd are great together.
God is good

great television
Klatt is great, Colin is just there.
They should call game together 😂

It's true
(c) Joel Klatt, to his kid Colin
My favourite, take your kid to work day. What a great father Klatt is.
I don't even watch college football regularly but this is my favorite weekly segment.
the exact same
this and the Nick Wright segment. Wednesday for the Herd is elite
The exact same.
This...
Well y’all need too watch it regularly to times better than the NFL.
Joel for Colin’s CFB Commissioner.
Joel’s idea for a new college football playoff bracket makes so much sense
Sure does - FCS pretty much already does it
6 team works. We all know any team ranked outside the top 6 will get demolished. You risk injury to top players from teams that deserved 1-2 by having them play garbage teams
@@fabioj- you would be surprised look at all bowl games being played and how many so called trash teams beat other teams
@@kejonamcfarlin4205 there's reasons for that other than parody in college football. A lot of of the better teams outside the olactual playoffs lose because they mail it in and play down to the level of their competition for whatever sh*tty bowl game they've been selected to.
I don’t agree until the 4th seed can actually compete with the 1 seed there’s no reason to expand
Klatt is one of the only ones who is real all the time. Whether he’s being critical of my Buckeyes at the time or not, I know he’s stating his real unbiased football opinion. So many of the fans agree with Joel Klatt. When it comes to CFB ideas he is the best of the best & deserves much more credit
I like Klatt when moves off the network bias he has to have working for Fox. During the season he has to talk up Big 10 amd 12 teams bcuz it’s a part of the job but outside of that I love his analysis
Being from Nebraska At the end of the video Joel and Colin were spot on with Nebraska. I definitely see improvement and hope that eventually turns into wins.
They barely lost to Oklahoma by 6, Michigan State by 3 and if the QB sees the RB wide open on the left in the red zone on 3rd and 3 they probably beat Ohio State
Still not the best team OSU has faced
@@justinbrosious6601 wow what a take… so glad you commented…
Nebraska needs to guarantee frost 3 more years his team is just now competing and winning in the trenches he switched the entire offense and the fans want him not some random who's gonna make you start over
@@KALICOE but we're to impatient cuz we think we should be winning constantly like the old days when in reality we were only good cuz we were grabbing players that were ineligible for other conferences besides the big 12
It’s crazy saying Nebraska is a good team this year when you look at there record, but damn they compete hard against the best teams
they’re not the big ten is just extremely overrated and nobody seems to notice
@@jesuschrist-mc4uc are you sure that’s not the SEC? I don’t see anything that is overrated about the BIG 10
As a Nebraska fan, I'm just happy to be here
Colin blushing hard over Klatt’s compliments
God is good
I keep going over Colin's stocking gifts, modifying them 😂: "You got a Kit kat, a single battery, a broken Battlefield earth dvd, and a used tube of travel toothpaste. Enjoy life."
All I learned is Colin is throwing batteries in stockings.
⁰
I totally agree with their take on Nebraska
My week is complete now that I've seen this.
Thanks guys! A husker fan who really appreciates your point of view about Nebraska! We are razor thin close Joel!
It just hurts to be razor thin for so long. On top of that, it doesn't mean as much to be close to the top ten teams if you're going to lose to Minnesota, Purdue, and Illinois.
But, I do really think we'll turn the corner soon.
It’s hard to watch lol
I was 2 seconds into my first ad on this video and gave it a like. I just love Joel Klatt
Nebraska comments gave me goosebumps. Thank you. We have been waiting and waiting so long. It’s been corn and beef for so long, it’s about time the obsession turns more positive with Nebraska football.
10:53
Joel : a maze of intellect
Colin: fingerpaint
Sums it up right there 😂
Basically my own two personalities 💯
Colin "You got a kit kat, you got a battery." Cowherd 😂
The one thing I have to take away from conversations about Scott Frost is that people thought he would make an immediate improvement. Everyone saw what he did with Central Florida and many assumed he’d come here and automatically do the same. But our program has been driven into the mud for so long that it isn’t a simple fix. Rather, it takes time.
The best way I can sum it up is this. Nebraska has taken these three years and learned how to fight. Now, we need to focus these next three years on how to win.
It’s father and son time. Joel always making time like a good Dad should lol.
FS1 literally does everything better than ESPN. This segment is the perfect example of why.
Klatt is so right when it comes to the playoff and what his expansion would do I love all of his points
@Gary Matthew Mackenzie it really is though like he’s even thought about the TV partners…the point he made about the nfl networks all building to the super bowl bc they know their gonna get it is true, I don’t see many cfp ads on non-espn/Disney channels
Easily “The Herd’s” best weekly segment
Damn Colin closing in on a million subscribers
lmaooo he’s been 5k off for months bruh
Sheeeesh
Klatts idea for playoff expansion is amazing and it would be so much more entertaining, and I’m a Alabama fan saying this lol
As a Husker fan I think we made the right move. Go get Holmon Wiggins as OC and build from that point.
I have no idea who we pick up as our OC but I do agree that keeping Frost is a good idea. This team has potential and I know there is no such thing as a moral victory but man, they are so damn close.
You think Mark Whipple is a good choice?
Keep Frost, Husker Mania will rise once again and run wild brother 💪🏾
If this was Mike Riley putting up 4-8's every year you would want him fired
@@cornhuskerfever Riley was a revenge hire with no legitimate reason to be selected but for as a placeholder until the real coach was hired. Basically daddy daycare.
@@cornhuskerfever Riley was losing every game by 30. Big difference buddy
@@ianfink5744 fr we wasn't even competing w these teams
The greatest conversation in sports every week! I swear Colin's wife must have said Joel was handsome years ago and now his divorce analogy minded subconscious can't stand it.
I like this man. Thank you so much for supporting our decision.
Klatt really provided some good stuff. I liked his point about the non conference scheduling. The idea that Alabama would have to play tough out of conference opponents because they are good and won the conference like the nfl would be awesome. It would do so much to add parity and more tough ooc matchups. Really good point I hadn’t heard before
Seems to me ,they keep big 10 teams close to the top where, the champ will be ranked 2,or 3,where they won't have to play the 1 team in playoff 1st game. And when it comes to bowl games Big 10 play Pac 12 opp.Why don't they play some Sec opp. The top half, the only way Big 10 gets in is keep them at top.Are they that deserving. Look at there strength of schedules,Come on Man
klatt is so cunning, play into cowherd's ego and he can't argue against your point
Best segment in all of sports
This was best sports commentary vid I've seen in awhile
I would love Cowherd and Klatt as a whole show
I completely agree w/ Klatt every time he shows up, and totally disagree with Colin. In fact Joel really highlights the weaknesses in much of Colin's thought process. Specifically downplaying the importance of ranking to teams beyond the top 4.
Joel Klatt really is such a good dad to Colin, always educating and always willing to show why Colin is wrong.
They could also select the CFP top 4 after playing the New Years 6 matches. I think that would solve a lot.
It kills me to click on a Cowherd video but I like to hear what Joel Klatt has to say
It is a pleasure listening to these two in these segment.
6-8 teams for the playoffs would be perfect. The home field advantage and the top 2 teams having a bye is a great idea as well.
no byes. why gift a team a free pass for a round? the rankings are arbitrary; highly subjective.
I am with Jim. I have always, before they ever announced a playoff, been for an 8 team playoff. The big conferences each get to send a champion, and you get a few at large teams. The incentive to be the No. 1 team playing the No. 8 is enough incentive for Georgia and Alabama to really want to win the SEC title, instead of losing it and playing a 4-6 seed or higher. With more than 8 teams, you add a month to the schedule. When you make it 8 teams, the each can play one in December, before Christmas, then the current normal schedule can be followed, with Semi-final games near New Year's Day, and the Chanpionship as it is now.
And, when was the last time a team outside the Top 8 at the end of the regular season made it into the Top 3 final rankings. 8 teams is enough.
The best segment I've seen u guys do together!!!
The committee believes that Michigan would beat Michigan State in every scenario that doesn't involve B1G officials in East Lansing. And they are CORRECT
This is my favorite segment each week. So good every time
The rankings by the committee are a joke destroying college football
Its all bull$hit
I'm telling you. Nebraska took giant steps forward this year even though their record doesn't indicate it. I think with an easier schedule next year, Nebraska may make a little noise in the Big Ten
Actually agree with Colin for once in this segment. Yes head to head should matter a lot. But not every head to head win is equal. Michigan blew the game yes but there were multiple officiating mistakes including a called back touchdown that the big ten has agreed was wrong. I think that has a big say in the weight of this head to head win
I think the way they have found it would be right only if they would make the rules for it
Sorry I hit the button before I was done
Where I think they messed up was where 1 of 2 places and that's Buckeyes/Ducks or Spartans/Ducks what the did to 1 they should have done to both.
It's never too late to celebrate Father's Day! 😍
We need more of these 2... always great.
We need more Joel Klatt on the herd!
the nebraska assessment is spot on by both. joel klatt is also one of the most unbiased announcers that ive heard do a game. that man needs more tv time
Klatt is one of my favorite guys to listen to about college football
I wait for this every week
I do agree that the “when Collin is right when Collin is wrong” segment is important. It’s easy for RUclips commenters like myself to make bold claims, boast when we are right (or lie) and hide in anonymity when we’re wrong. Collin is one face with a public set of opinions
I am once again asking for The Colin and Klatt Show
Klatt is the voice of College Football for me. Always measured and always funny. No one does it better than him.
8 teams
5 Power 5 champs
Best group of 5 team
2 at large
Still have your precious playoff rankings because the higher ranked team gets a first round home game
Not a big college guy…however…..Klatts ideas are spot on✊🏾
Best segment on the show
I look forward to this every week!
Best segment every week
Joel Klatt is the man, man!
#1...."kids are stupid" lmfao I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The dynamic of these two are great
I see Joel I Click
Gotta love that nickel store
I really really hope that the "powers that be" listen to all of Klatt's suggestions for the college playoff!! All of his ideas were perfect. 12 teams, homefield advantage and byes in the 1st round, expanding the criteria for the rankings... All of his ideas hopefully happen sooner rather then later 🤞🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
Joel Klatts literally one of the few people I can actual stand listening to
I agree, I’m a Bama fan and I wish we would play teams from all conferences. I usually don’t watch the games where they pay teams to come in and play. For example with an SEC west schedule you play all of the western teams, your crossover east rival and another sec east team. Then play someone from the Big 10, Big 12, ACC and PAC 12. Play two of those games on the road and two at home or a neutral field (like a destination season opener.) Alternate your home and away games every season, one year you play the ACC on the road the next you play them at home.
Love these two
great segment, id love for them to have a radio show together or a PTi set up
My favorite father and son combo.
Joel Klatt should be on the committee.... Js
Best segment every week with Joel
Joel Klatt is the best. He genuinely loves and cares about the sport and just wants to make it the best it can be. Voice of the people.
I think Colin actually hits the nail on the head with the comment about the lack of big-time matchups. It's not a coincidence that of the 20 most watched games in college football this season, 7 of them are Power 5 vs Power 5 non-con games:
(2nd) Georgia vs. Clemson* - ABC - 8,863,000
(5th) Notre Dame @ Florida State - ABC - 7,751,000
(6th) Auburn @ Penn State - ABC - 7,606,000
(7th) Oregon @ Ohio State - FOX - 7,730,000
(14th)Alabama vs. Miami* - ABC - 5,674,000
(16th) Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin* - FOX - 5,369,000
(20th) Washington @ Michigan - ABC - 4,748,000
Of all the sport talk shows out there this is the best segment every week and it ain't even close!
When Klatt gave a compliment to Uncle Colin :')
Honestly I love Joe, I agree with most the points he says.
Really enjoy and appreciate the Nebraska+ rebuild insight.
Joel is a man of the people. Just giving Colin the facts
Can we just make Klatt the commissioner?
I agree that Nebraska is a six-year rebuild. The constant coaching carousel has killed their program. They are finally playing top-ranked teams without getting utterly blown out. Glad Frost is back for year five, and I wish him all the success in the world.
Colin in the background 3:55 "great anology" haha never change
I would love to see playoff games on campus, way too many Bowl games already
Always enjoy having Klatt come on the show. His argument makes sense in my head most of the time.
Can we give this man his own show or podcast or radio?
I love this !! Why not put you guys on the committee. The voice of reason and and intellect.
Joel’s comments about non conference is perfect!
Joel Klatt = Good vibes
These guys are so correct about Scott Frost NU is making strides compared to where we were and thank goodness!
The godfather of CFB Big J
Got to agree with Klatt. Michigan being higher then Michigan St is ridiculous and does hurt credibility.
A 6 team playoff is the sweet spot imo. no auto bids for conference winners, just the best 6 overall, with byes for 1 and 2
After you get your 6 team playoff: "How can you tell the kids sitting at 7 that they don't deserve to be in? ". ... Two years after you get the 8 team playoff. "How can you tell the kids sitting at 9 that they don't deserve to be in?" .. Ad infinitum
@@candlercando no, then it'll be the seeding. Seeding should have hard and fast rules.
Ridiculous Michigan is ranked over Michigan State when they got beat.
And whenever you need to examine the level at which you won or lost is ridiculous.
The result should be considered the same no matter how much or how little you won or lost by
@@4realjacob637 Go back to the 1980s when there was a simple 64 team NCAA basketball bracket. The exact things were said by the 65th team. So just as we had BCS 1+2, now it's 4 teams, if it goes to 6, the 7th team will complain. The end result will be players will have to opt out of postseason or "get a concussion" because they will have a better chance of getting drafted if they are not hurt vs playing 14 or 15 games a year.
@@candlercando simple shorten the non-conference game schedule.
The good teams are only playing like one good non-conference opponent anyways.
OMG...Cowherd begins rebuttal and Klatt checks his watch. Message sent!!
Klatt for President, sheesh. this man out here preaching truth and spittin facts and everything in between.
Klatt's main argument is so right. The main problem with CFB is that teams can go undefeated and not make the playoff over teams with one loss. One might still say they should not make it because of the SOS but htat is the main problem. Anyone who goes undfeeated should make the playoff if there are not 4 other undefeated teams. Period.
