If we get to a NY6 and win and then go undefeated next year. I would say we deserve a playoff spot. Zach Wilson would have to come back though. Which probably won’t happen.

This is not a hard argument. If BYU played the same schedule Georgia had to this point, they would be 4-4 whereas Georgia is 6-2, a la Georgia is a better team. BYU is probably ranked too high at 13 honestly.

I have a hard time taking the opinion seriously of someone who says the games matter “50%”. The whole point about sports is the game. That’s why we watch it. If you win the right games you get rewarded. When he says “games matter 50%” he’s saying that he doesn’t care who wins or loses, the best team is the team that can catch his eye with recruiting. If you were honest about your team, you'd have to admit BYU is ranked about right if not too high. Georgia is absolutely a better team than BYU and the Cougars would be lucky to keep that game within 20 if they played right now on a neutral field.

They beat up on terrible competition but if they played a best of 5 series against any team in the top 20, they'd be lucky to push 3-4 teams to 5 games, they'd get swept by every team in the top 10 and they would lose every one of those games by an average of 20 points.
Recruiting shouldn't play a factor in whether or not a team is good. Recruiting doesn't portray how good the team is at the moment, but how good each individual player was when they were recruited rather than how good they are right now, and how good they team is with all of these players.

If you do a hybrid, you can get vastly different rankings depending on the degree to which you emphasize one or the other. Another issue that Klatt brings up is that BYU had scheduled P5 schools. I don’t care about that at all. That gets into the territory of “do they deserve to be that low?” I don’t care about deserve in that sense.

I like Joel, but he clearly hasn’t watched a snap from UGAs past two games. JT Daniels CLEARLY is the answer at QB and is the sole reason they beat Mississippi State. As a Georgia fan, I’d rather have Daniels than Wilson because Daniels will come back and become a first rounder. Joel doesn’t mention Daniels once.

Byu is playing coastal this week. Which is good since its a ranked team. But that ain't gonna do it for byu. They needed to schedule a power 5 team.
How exactly could they have done that? They are an independent, and the Power 5 aren't b scheduling out of conference opponents, and even if they did, do you really think that they would risk an L against BYU..?
