I love my current 116d, it's not fast at all but it's my first rear wheel drive car. When it's a bit wet outside it can be so much fun to turn traction completely off and behave like an ideot. The car then can just drift for hours without any problems.
Love my 2017 M140i, nothing could replace it. You get used to the power, but thankfully the B58 engine is so tuneable it's easy to get ridiculous power increases. I'm tempted to take mine further (currently 455bhp/634nm) but it really is enough to have fun every time you take it down the road.
Such a magnificent review of this lovely M140. Greetings from Argentina, keep it up Lucas :) Pd: manejas un nivel de inglés increíble, si antes te admiraba ahora mi admiración se duplica
No worthy mention of the amazing N52 130i? Isn't that where it all started? It was the first BMW hatch to have such an amazing engine, and RWD. I own both a 130i N52 and a 340i B58, both amazing engines but I pick the 130i everytime when I just want to drive and experience connection.
Both the B48 and the B58 are extremely reliable engines. I used to own a 220i with the B48 and it was quite fun to drive. However, if you can afford the B58 I think it's far more special (and powerful).
Great car but I’m too old for rwd, only because of the drivetrain kills the rear seat space for my kids 😂 I just can’t trust these cars out of warranty, everything around the bulletproof engine will just need constant expensive maintenance, or maybe it’s just my uninformed perception
This car in particular is an xDrive, but most M140is are RWD. xDrive in these cars is rear biased, with at least 60% of the power going to the rear wheels
Both are true, but, to be fair, I've only seen ring failure in cars with fairly aggressive setups (500 WHP+/Stage 2+). Water pump failure rarely leads to catastrophic failure (unless you're totally oblivious to what your car is telling you). Cheers!
No he doesn't. He gives an honest and fair review, which is spot on. It's flawed in many ways, but the amazing engine & gearbox, in such a sleeper, means it is unique, there will never be anything like it ever again.
It’s not contradictory. The RWD 1 Series makes absolutely no sense from a commercial standpoint, a FWD hatchback (like the current gen) would’ve been much more reasonable. But for us petrolheads, this is simply an amazing hatchback which is unlikely to be repeated in the future.
@@abriatus But it's not as good as the RS3... then suddenly it is? Oh, and the AMG45 is only quicker off the line being 4WD. Which strangely the RS3 is as well.

The M140i is still the best hot hatch ever
Classic Swiss spec, no badge, silver, completely OEM, perfect condition.
Oh you talk about it in the video lol
I once almost bought a Golf 6R DSG, also in silver, fully loaded. Was also a Swiss car.

Pense que era un canal en ingles que te robaba videos pero en efecto sos vos, asi que felicitaciones!.
I am here for the background music.
Awesome my friend! RUclips hizo su magia y me recomendo este video👌
Great to see you here ;)
Always had a sweet spot for the 140i. Too bad we never got the 1 series hatch over here on North America shores
Tremendo nivel de inglés. Muy crack Lucas.
Gracias!

Thank you! Publishing my videos in both languages helps me reach a much broader audience :)

Such an amazing car, it´s a shame that the one series ditched it´s BMW heritage and switched to FWD. Greetings from comuna Quattro
Hahaha, great to see you here!
Niceeeeeeeeeee
Yo tengo el 335i e93 pero casi por poco iba a tnere un 135i,lo malo es que aqui es USA no lleva el series 1 moderno.

I love mine. Will destroy 90% of the cars on the road and scares me every day wet or dry!
Absolutely agree!
@@abriatus true, this is a beast!
Contemplating geting the 125i B48 engined one instead, what's your opinion of that car?

Me too scott. Mine 'only' 455bhp/634nm but I pulled away from an aston martin the other day and just laughed out loud.

Nice video. What’s your camera set up ? Thanks!
Thank you! It’s a fairly simple setup, iPhone 13 Pro + GoPro Hero 10 Black and a Zoom H1 connected to a lav mic for audio
Buena luquitasss

Oil change every 8-10 tkm and that's it 💪
I wish they brought the xdrive to the uk, it would make the rs3/s3/45s look silly
Wow, I thought it had been sold there

Yes! Makes it even more incredible

debatable, no manual box..
There is! Just not this unit
I have one and its manual. Only the X-Drive models were auto only IIRC.
