Like any high powered rear wheel drive car you need to respect it in the wet or when pushing on but it's a hugely capable car. I am 44 but still need to fight the urge to put it in Sports+ and throw the back out at any given opportunity. The Mrs just sighs when she sees the display change to S+. I should know better :D
I got an m135i lci mineral grey and I don’t think there’s much in it with that and the m140i, the N55 engine does sound better for me and revs out well, But the B58 is a bit more torquey low end, both amazing cars 👌🏻
@@keithw4920 also I've just had a message from Marc at Williams Performance saying it's DCT fluid for the manuals. Quite hard locating this info online tbh. Spent a while searching and hit a dead end... That's why I love the comment section 🙌
@@keithw4920 technically you can use the following; LL01, LL01FE, LL04, LL12FE, LL14FE+. LL04 is just the most common, believe LL01 is the old LL04. Oil specs are a nightmare as they change as the years go by 🤣
The "Gummi Pflege Stift" is german, if you translate it word for word, in english it would be called "rubber care pen". Also if there is an "E" at the end of a german word, it's not silent like in french. :)
The oil filter problem isn't just a manufacturing problem its because the filter housing lid has lugs which the filter locks into before inserting it into the housing. The disintegrated ones is where the filter has been dropped into the housing then the lugs on the lid crush the filter causing it to disintegrate in the housing. Correct replacement and installation is far more important than frequency mate.
@@henzopereira5308 The car has so many nets attached that you really have to be dumb in order to crash one of these. I mean, try hard enough and you'll succeed but it's a really good daily car that doesn't step out in the wet or snow if you drive it sensibly. That said, press your foot hard enough and if you're not ready for it, it'll spit you out the other end into a tree.

Don’t stab the throttle mid corner (or be prepared to add opposite lock if you do), drive cautiously in the cold until the tyres are warm and don’t cheap out on the tyres themselves. Respect the car and it’s capabilities and it’ll look after you well 😊

Had a look on the forums before I bought mine to stake out what the previous owner had asked (crafty af, I know...) and the only thing was the coolant issue, which was sorted by topping up the level. Been spot on for me for 8 months now 👌 How many times you been to the petrol station? 😆

Very entertaining Video as always, Here is the least imporant thing but knowing some German, I could not help noticing, that the product you recommended is in German "Gummi Pflege Stift" and you made it sound as if it was the brand name but Pflege simply means care, so that kind of translates to rubber pen applicator to care for your car. If there is no English on the tube, then that is probably not going to be cheap, some import, not sure where you found that. Anyway, really not important, really nice summary of all the features about the car, I hardly drive mine because of those restrictions ,no longer need to drive to work and I have this OCD to open the bonnet and check the coolant level even I don't drive the car, plain ridiculous. Seriously, that will probably be the best petrol car I will ever own.

Huh, didn't know they made the m140i with frameless doors. I've got the 5-door xDrive m140i and it's super nice to have the frames during winter. Previously had a frameless 4 series and it's a nightmare during winter.
@@bimmertony of course :) The glass freezes to the rubber really easily and can be a real PITA to get the door open. Feels really bad trying to tear the door open and seeing the glass bend.
I want an m140i sooo bad but cannot afford one x.x the car is cheap for a car of its caliber but it'll take me too long to save for it and then insurance in my area too is probably the worst in the UK it'll cost me anyweher between 4k-6k to insure the car ridiculous.
Very useful, thank you, sorry I'm a bit late but my 140 only arrived yesterday afternoon after a spur of the moment decision inspired by my brother "stop remembering your youth & get on & relive it (that was the p.c. version) so had a quick mooch around & decided it was 'hot hatch' time again. As an old fart who's had a driving license since gas lighting was still available Ive got used to reading dials as normally when a warning light comes on its often too late. So driving her home yesterday & being caught up in Fri tea time traffic I found myself hunting for water coolant & or oil temperature gauges without much success, then to be told there arent any & the car will monitor it & tell you if its overheating,, The very same reason Im always aware of my cars normal opperating temperatures, cars dont always tell the truth... What do you guy do ? Ive seen some aftermarket solutions but is this true & that BMW saw fit to not to overload its drivers with at least one temp gauge?? HELP
I believe there are aftermarket gauges that replace the drivers side vents to monitor things like that, but it's a pretty expensive piece of kit. I'm old skool too. Just check levels manually every other weekend when I'm washing the car 🙂
So this week I’ve got the dreaded exhaust rattle on the m135. I’ve gone to remove the pin only to find it’s snapped so right now the left exhaust has nothing holding the flap shut, sounds horrendous. I’ve ordered the new pin with it arrives tomorrow, and it’s in for an mot on Monday, so I’m hoping they’ll just put the new one back In without any issues. It seems to happen to them all
They seem to be pretty solid cars. Mines not had any coolant issues and I escaped the oil filter fiasco on my first service. Apparently there’s a new cap for the coolant tank that may or may not help with it loosing it’s coolant.

PPF removal is tampering with factory fitted emitions hardware and you cannot remove them legally. But id be more concerned about the warranty as removing PPF will require a remap.
@@ryancox3834 Thanks man! I had a feeling this was the case, If I ever considered making a mod it would be after the warranty expired, so my guess is that backbox mods is the only legal option for cars fitted with PPF's?
Change the oil and filter every 12 months or 8000 miles, don't leave it until the service light comes on. The M140i has the same problem as every other BMW I have owned (five of them), the filters on the washer pumps get blocked, and it's a pita to clean them.
@@ljdash9144 The B58 engine has very good reliability, plenty of them fine after 80k with the standard service intervals. Mine will be in great health, worry about your own car. I bet you don't even know anything about the B58 engine.

I checked my coolant and was not impressed by the colour of the coolant, it was a brown almost rusty looking mixture. Although I've had no warning lights and it seems to be working fine it's just a little odd that it looked this way....is that normal,
Ps4 or 4s are the only sensible option on this car. Martini tyres in Wolverhampton if you're anywhere near there I got supplied and fitted all round for £364 which youll be hard pressed to even buy for that price.

the first mlight ewg n55 is a great hot hatch second best ever made, they improved the mlight with the b58 engine m140i the best hot hatch ever made.

8000 miles is waaaaaaaay tooo much, maybe every 5 - 6k miles
