High handicapper here and i just got the cobra forged tec set and absolutely love them. Theyre so forgiving i might actually move into mid handicap within this summer. Lol.
Just purchased the cobra forged tec irons 2020. Can't speak highly enough. Great looks, superb feel and so forgiving. Also decent value compared to a few manufacturers
Great review for mid handicapper irons...one that you could add would be the Hogan PTx pro irons these work for both the mid handicappers and scratch irons...Smooth, soft and also giving ..Oh another thing, at a price that is less then your woman would let you spend on clubs.... ....Thanks....Ali
I have a set of Wilson staff di7s for my less than adequate ball striking days and just got a set of 2020 forged tecs that are great for the rest lol. FYI: PXG is offering their 0811x drivers for $220 free shipping right now!!! Lots of shaft and grip options as well upcharge or not.
Ryan having played the wilson c300 forged for 2 year and loved them what would be your choice between cobra tech and wilson d7 forged? Can't overlook the wilson as the price is unbelievable and I do love the Wilson brand but them cobra look good too.
Hmm... yeh, we loved the C300 too. Re Cobra / Wilson - all depends which performs best for you. Go to a good custom fitter who can spec you in both and see which you prefer 👍
Some very nice options shown here for this category. The Wilson D7 forged & Titelist T200 really pique my interest. I'm a high handicapper by trade- will I get arrested for getting much better irons than my game calls for? These irons all look awesome-well most of them do anyways.
I'm gaming wilson d7 forged had the cobra forged tec but just couldn't get on with the cobra hollow body feel. I've just had a fitting with the strong lofted cobra speedzone and they blew me away so I'm waiting for these to arrive 😁 I've always had a couple of sets of irons on standby in case i go off with one set so the cobra sz should do just fine
Is a mid-handicap player someone who would shoot 10-15 over par? I'd consider low to be 10 and lower. At my home course by mid season I'm down around 6-8 over par from the Blues. And still consider myself a "mid" handicap player. At the beginning of the season I suck and the first 20 rounds I'd be in the 12-15 over par until I get things sorted.
let me know how it goes, i’m still using my Ping G series irons i got back in 2007/8 , and been looking at the 790s as well as the AP2s and a few others but can’t decide

What do you consider a mid handicapper, I break it down like this 0-10 low, 11-20 mid and above 20 is high, so if I follow this guideline I would say most mid handicappers could not hit these irons
20 handicap is not 'mid',to qualify and play in 'Rabbits' golf alliances you need to be 16 handicap or above, they are all considered 'high' handicappers and anyone who receives more than one stroke per ho;e is definitely not mid-handicap. Plus to 8 is low,9 to 15 is mid and 16+ is high.
Average score published by several publications including golf digest is 100. USGA - R&A have both published the average handicap is 18. Easy to google
@@RA-bw2wp Handicap categories are 5 or less Cat 1,6-12 Cat 2,13-20 Cat 3,21-28 Cat 4,which can vary depending on the number of golfers within a given category, the vague term 'average handicap' is an irrelevance as it doesn't define or distinguish between high and low.
Christopher Franklin - not sure where you got those numbers from. Again I have been a member of the PGA for 40 years. Teaching, coaching and playing a lot. There are no such categories. The PGA, R&A, etc that you register your handicap with (so yes they have all of them that are legit) have no such categories. They do put out numbers now and then and are easy to research. Once you take the time to research this, and have 40 years of experience you will find that 85% of golfers can’t break 100. From all the data a good average for a mid-handicap is 15-19 world wide. The irons in this review are NOT for this group. It is bad information. These are more player profile irons with some forgiveness built in and jacked lofts for more carry. As a practice most “mid” handicap irons fit into irons like Mizuno Hot Metal, Ping G410, Callaway Rogue or Mavrik, etc. I would say the exception is the TM P790’s, more of a player profile but very easy to hit.

There isn't a specific definition but somewhere around 9-18. Feel free to read other comments in this post on the subject about what is deemed mid handicap and what is an average golfer.
Mid Handicap irons? World wide stats collected by different groups (pga, etc>) a mid handicap golfer is 17-18. None of these irons are for a mid handicap golfer, except the P790. But even the P790 size wise can be a little scary for an 18. I have hit all these irons, and I am a 12 handicap. I play 4-6 days a week, with many different golfers. A good mid handicap iron would be - Callaway Mavrik (standard head), Ping G410, Mizuno Hot Metal, TM Sim, etc. All of these have larger sized game improvement irons for higher handicaps. Sorry but really bad info for an true mid handicap golfer.
Golfshake.com - ever heard of Google ? It is so easy to find! I'm a mid handicap (17) golfer and just purchased the Ping i210. I loved the feel and accuracy. Nice video.
Good choice!
Not a regular. Just saw the thumbnail and decided to say it was a good thing you picked more than 4 iron heads to show. 👀

Thought the same myself haha

Its open to interpretation but 'mid' is seen as in the middle so generally you are looking at someone in the low teens.
