    I am a 58 year old female, 11-13 handicap, and have been playing a set of PXG 0311P Gen 5, Project X Cypher 50i shafts (A flex) for a few months now (dad ordered them for himself and did not like them). I must say, I love the feel of the clubs! I am hitting my 6 iron 165-180 yards consistently with great control. Never thought I would be able to truly "feel" a club as it strikes the ball. Just picked up an A wedge from PXG to complete my set.

    I'm a 5 handicap and have owned PXG Gen 1 & most recently Gen 3 irons and have always loved them. I had plans to get the Gen6 next season when they'd likely then be replaced by something new and as a result be priced reduced, but the deal killer for me was that ridge along the sole of the club. It's enough to be cleaning grooves after each shot, but now having to clean that groove along the bottom was too much maintenance for me. Others I know that now own then have dirt and grass in them constantly (something not obvious when getting fitted off a mat in the store!). I just recently took delivery of the new Titleist T150s (blended to T200 in 6 & 5 iron) and after a couple rounds am already in love! The narrow sole and fairly small head at first intimidated me, but I consistently striped them during fitting, so the technology in them is very impressive. My 1st set of Titleist irons and I could not be more excited!

    Hi Peter, I'm a 65 year old man, and I use the PXG gen 3 0311 XF and love them. I used to play Callaway big bertha's, and there is no comparison. My game has improved drastically from it too. I'm going to play them another year then go get professional fit for a new set, and they will be the PXG. Thanks for your show, I recently found your RUclips channel and find it very entertaining. Keep up the good content. Dan

    Hi Pete,
    I'm playing off 14 at the moment. I went for a club fitting a couple weeks ago and tried P-790, T200 and mizuno 223. For me best feeling was T200 and mizuno 223 and then it came down to how it looked behind the ball and the T200 got the vote for me.
    T200 look and feel amazing.
    Keep up the great work 💪💪

    I've played more golf this year than i have in the past 5 years combined... I finally got myself into a Mizuno set. 919 hot metal. I was using a taylormade burner set prior. 90 is the best i shot this year and i hope to hit mid 80's next season. Best of luck with the channel. Looking forward to future vids.

    Nice to see PXG make the list. I'm a fan and play the Gen 3 P. Those are slightly weaker loft than current Gen 6 P. Agree that the feel is very unique. I can see a set of the 0317 T irons going in my bag next year. Also playing around with the Takomo 201 CB irons.

    Enjoyed the video as always. I play of 14 handicap and this is my second year of taking up golf again (played a bit when I was a kid but stopped when I got into my teens). When I went to get fitted into a set of irons the t200s was certainly a contender, I didn't like the p790s at all and I still have a hard time explaining why tbh. But after I tried the Mizuno 923 forged something just clicked and I'm still very happy with my choice.

    Pete, I am 59 yrs and started Golf 3 yrs ago. I am now somewhere around bogey golf on avg., I did shoot a 14 over though (best round, 2 birdies). I currently play the Takomo 101, I do leave the 4i at home though, I very much prefer my Ping 425 7w. The Takomo's have given me shot length, consistency (i.e. forgivemess) and feel. Honestly, the looks are unbelievable. Numerous times people ask me how I manage to play blades.....

    Great job Peter! I'm a 10 handicap, been playing an old set of Ping S55s for a while now, but my new fitted T100s should be here today! I tried the T200 and just didn't like the inconsistent distance. Every once in a while I'd nuke one 20+ yards longer, while the T100 were bang on every time. Still it's a great video, thanks!

    I've ground my way down to a 7.6 hdcp from a 14.9 to start the season. I was gaming Srixon ZX5 irons up until I crossed the single digit barrier. I'm currently gaming the ZX7 irons. I strongly recommend both for the respective hdcp ranges. I'm an Assistant Pro and my Pro is contracted with Srixon. I have to say they weren't on my radar prior ,but it would be hard to knock them out of the bag now! Much love, Peter! ⛳️ 🏌️‍♂️ 👊

    I'm currently playing around 9.2 handicap and been using the Titleist T300 for more than 1 1/2 years. This set gave me great confidence mainly by the results on miss hits, they are long but good amount of spin and peak height, landing soft and short on most greens with scoring irons.

    Actually went and got fitted for the first time a couple months ago, and ended up with the Callaway Paradyms. Was actually surprised how well I liked them after hitting all the new irons from the other major brands. Honestly figured I’d end up with the T200’s myself but just didn’t link as well with me. Honestly had no idea how much different irons feel to different players. Everyone needs to have a fitting for sure. Interesting process as well. Enjoyed your review Pete.

    I am a currently an 11.5 handicap and last season played the P790's when I was at a 14.2 handicap. It was suggested that I check out the Titleist T200's and haven't regretted my decision to make that change this season. I have found significant consistency in yardage and accuracy, which has allowed me to lower my handicap this season. I have absolutely LOVED the irons!! By far the best decision I have ever made for my golf game!! With all this said I can't suggest enough to know your game and how you play. Then relay that information to fitter to get an accurate fitting.

    Currently an 8.3 handicap and I've been hitting the P770s for a few months now, with a P790 (2021 model) in the 4i slot. An argument could be made that I might score better right now with a full P790 set, but having irons designed for a bit better player is motivating for me to improve, and when I do find the center of the face with a P770, it's incredible.

    I am playing Cobra t-rail hybrid irons (as I was a 30+ handicap about a year ago), but am now down to a 16.1 and have definitely been eyeing all three of these sets as a possible upgrade. Absolutely love them and glad I didn't go P790 route as I think I'd have outgrown them very quickly. For someone wanting to improve I think 790's have a limited shelf life before you need something better

      Yeah you got a long long way to go before you’d outgrow p790. P770 would be for low single digit handicappers but P790 could be for low single too. Perhaps your swing is just improving at that level.

    hey pete, I currently play Apex 21's and have enjoyed them since they came out. typically shoot between 80-85, and feel like my ball striking is one part of my game which needs improvement to lower my handicap. started to look at new irons and I've hit both the t200 and p790, between the 2 I like the 790 a touch better, but will try the pxg now. thanks for the help pete.

    I just purchased a set of Srixon ZX5 Mark II. I had a fitting for the Titleist 200 irons as well as the Srixons.
    Both are forged irons Srixon, forged in Japan.
    Both feel great be the Srixon were better value... I was able to save about $70 US per iron...
    I am 67 years old and playing off 10...
    Srixon irons really perform and price point is a winner for me.

    Nice video, Peter. I gamed the 2021 T200s for a season and a half and I think they are great. Looks wise, just stunning. I fawn over them every time I am on the course. The feel and distance is impressive as well. However, I do find the P790s to be a touch more forgiving without losing out on the feel and distance which makes them the preferred iron for me as I consistently look to score in the 80s. Not much in it between the two of them though. Class leaders. As for the PXGs, I really dislike the way they look which makes me dismiss them off the bat.

    I play around a 10-12 handicap and I’m gaming the X2 Hot Pro irons from 2014. I am always tempted to upgrade, but they are very forgiving and still have all the “player” attributes that im seeing in modern day sets. Smaller blade length, minimal offset, weight bar and support behind the sweet spot. I don’t play enough to warrant an $800+ purchase and they give me everything I’d need from an iron

    • @kakimotoK20
      @kakimotoK20 9 месяцев назад +1

      $800? T200s are $1400 new. I'm playing 2014 ap2 and the only reason I'm in the market is because I want +1" with a lightened head to correct the swing weight. If my clubs fit me I'd keep them and it sounds like you should keep yours

    • @alexswmr
      @alexswmr 9 месяцев назад

      @@kakimotoK20 yeah that is my thought process. I used $800 as a reference point for a lightly used set, to my recollection I have never purchased a new set of irons. I dont see the need when there is such an immediate depreciation in value with used sets.

      This is something that, as a new golfer, I struggle to wrap my head around. When picking my first set of clubs I did a lot of research about what clubs were suitable. A lot would be considered to hard for me to use, but my thought there is as I improve, why would I want to upgrade to a set of clubs that are harder to hit?
      Why would anyone want to make a difficult game harder by using clubs that are much less forgiving? I know there’s the workability argument, but that surely exists in most clubs bar something extremely GI like the Wilson Launch Pads, which is basically a full set of hybrids. There’s the classic story about the Rickie Fowler blades, even he didn’t game them for long because of how hard they were to hit, what’s the point in that? Just get a set of irons that gap well for you and are easy to hit how you want! 😅

      @@reczyyou are absolutly right but there is a difference between a blade and a game improving irons like presented in the videos. A lot of tour players are now going back to irons woth a little more forgivness than blades like t100 from titleist because the feel is close enough for them. I dont recommand those hybrids/irons like the wilson because you’ll progress too quickly at first

    I shoot in the mid to high 80s regularly but have a ton of speed. I use 2021 t100 irons with x100 shafts. I started the year as about a 20 handicap, but have been steadily making progress. I'm currently playing at about a 12-14 handicap level. I'm using a set of hand-me-down Mizuno MP-30 irons. When I hit them well, they feel great, but when I have a bad swing, I miss then so badly that no club is going to save it. I recently used some impact tape to see where I am striking the irons, and I consistently hit every ball on the heel side of center, with an occasional shank. If I can move the hits over to the center of the club, and also get rid of my fat hits, my current irons will be fine. I suppose that an iron with more aggressive lofts might be a help as I tend to hit my irons very high, handy for hitting over trees, but not helpful in high winds.

    I got fitted for irons at the beginning of the year coming off of the "strata" beginner set for my first year of playing golf. Tried all different kinds but it came down to the titliest T200s and the Mizuno 923s and ultimately the Mizunos won. Of course my swing has improved drastically as well but I went from averaging rounds over 100 last year to being a 12.9hcp currently.

My first year I picked up a cheap second hand set of old Titleist DTR, I didn't want to spend much in case I didn't like them or didn't play golf much.
