- I quickly go over the vs racing wastegate and test the spring pressures using the sloppy mechanics test rig. Check out my latest video on VS Racing turbos • VSRacing 6762 Turbo Un...

I'm sure you've already figured this out, but the springs are designed to be stacked. Ie; 5psi spring + 7psi spring will get you approx 12psi. Stack them all in there and youll get around 18psi. It just gives the user flexibility in setting their target boost.
I tried them stacked and got it right.
ive been trying to figure out what to do and you have helped me i just got the actual 38 mm tial mvs wastegate and was trying to figure out what color springs to run...thank you now i see i have to stack them im running 25 ish psi in my big turbo focus now i see which ones i have to run thank you.
RacerX85 what was the price?
Ya 😅ya I
Ya
Great video. Just something to take into consideration though, the wastegate will also open sooner depending on the amount of backpressure you have. As an example, my 5.8lb spring opens at around 4lbs on the vehicle because I have an undersized turbo and the backpressure forces it open earlier. Whereas if I had an appropriately sized turbo it wouldnt open till around 6psi. Bottom line is most of the time it wont act the same on the vehicle that it does off the vehicle with a test rig like this. 😉
I have the same one 👍🏻
Tho I used the brass washers on the banjo fittings one at the top and bottom the block off screws just screwed in .
Thanks for the vid I tested mine and no leaks and popped off at 6 open at 7
I'm just gonna add a boost controller for easy measure 👍🏻
These are good for spring changes compared to the split clamp pita one I have.
Awesome video man
Very good video and helpful 👍
For some reason I think there is something wrong with this firing seat ring, The firing seat ring shouldn’t move at all the valve is the one should be doing all the motion.
That is not correct. I have run Tial and the seat moves because it heat and cool cycles thousands of times. If it was welded and did not move it would probably crack. I believe the Tial seat is actually a different metal. On the VS racing it looks like stainless steel. I would bet that the Tial seat would work in the VS racing part. Other parts are interchangeable.
Im trying to find an alternate for my broken tial 44mm ewg, I run 45psi and 800hp. You think this will hold?
Howzit man I've got a question I've got this same gates I've put in the 2 bigger springs but when i pupe it up on the low boost port it only produces 0.5bar /7psi should I directly pipe it on the top side rather meaning on spring pressure it will boost 14psi and if I open the regulator to the top side I'll reach 28psi
Is it normal for the fire ring to move in when the valve opens? (see 6:20 for example...) Thank you
yes
Yes
If this is a tial clone, will tial springs work in ir?
Yes
Where did you buy the VS waste gate from ?
From vsracing
I just buy a new single spring rate 1.3bar it works,if double up will increase my boost?
More spring rate will make more boost
Springs should be stacked so you get right pressures.
Technically you can not stack the springs. The way they are sized the one sits inside the other and so on from small to large.
You can also run a small spring then run pressure above and below the valve (top and bottom ports) using a pair of boost solenoids along with the correct boost controller and it is thw beat way to control boost.
At this point I would never run a manual boost controller and springs. That is archaic. Technology has surpassed this old methodology.
Do they sell replacement diaphragm for them for serving later ?
It's the same as a Tial diaphragm so you can just get a genuine diaphragm
Real tials work. Infact I swapped to a real one on mine as I heard the Chinese ones rip a lot faster
Can you provide any information on the regulator and gauge setup. Having trouble finding a 30-40 psi gauge. Any information would be appreciated!

@@TurbineResearch Thanks so much Sean
so is this the vs racing from summitracing or ebay ?
From VS racing
I thought that the smaller spring was the highest psi! Now for what I see is that the widest spring is 6psi, the intermediate in width is the 7psi and the smallest in diameter and height is the 4psi. Can anybody correct me?
You have to stack the springs, thats why they are different diameters
Can you clock the lid any way you want?
Yes
I have a fucking 40psi spring on my WG I almost blew my motor up the other day. Switching it to a 8lb springs whits wild man I had no clue
I have never seen a 40lb spring in a wastegate. I would assume it almost never opens up.
Rough on an engine!
@@keithcannon3682 yupp changed it out alresdy and the poor engine was just boosting to the moon im glad the rod didn't follow
What tool is that to check waste gate
Low pressure air compressor regulator from Amazon
Good video, I liked it... Subscibed to your channel now..
What if you add 2 or all 3 springs? Will it increases the psi?
Yes if you add all the springs it will make a ton of boost
Quality?
excellent, lasted me more than 5 years.
@@john-martin the vs wastegate really was that good?
Tim Web Yes very good. Im very happy with it. The diaphragm is still in great working order. Just took apart the other day to replace with a smaller spring and a new 4 port and all is well. Note: make sure the the 3 alan screws holding the valve to the diaphragm are tight when you buy and you’re good to go. Good luck
Can you pair two springs and see what that will net you? im looking for around 10-12 psi, wondering if combination of any two will get me there. thanks!
Vinny Cambiano I run the small spring and the big spring together in my friends bmw and we get 10psi on the bottom of the gate only. We run the medium spring with a tee to the top and bottom ports of the gate to get 12psi.
2Step _Anti_lag truly appreciate your reply. Quick too! How’s the wastegate holding up so far?
Vinny Cambiano no worries I’m glad to help. We had some issues with the clamp on the inlet but other than that it’s been great for 6 months of boosting daily
good news! thanks again sir
For future reference i think adding a manual boost controller is easier than swapping springs
not any different than the ebay stuff same stuff.
