It's pretty interesting to think about the fact that the Strike has received effectively two reworks from the HGSeed/Remaster with the HGCE and the EG, but the Aegis still doesn't even have a new kit out.
@MIRAGE THE GESPENST the point is that the Aegis Knight engineering and parts are so wildly different from Aegis that realistically they would not share a single runner
@MIRAGE THE GESPENST I admire your optimism, however there have been far too many cases of seemingly obvious kits never happening for me to trust bandai
One thing ive always loved of your reviews is your capacity to remember so accurately of all these different MS's. Like i said before, if i needed a scientist to build Gundams it would be you! You're one of those professors from Gundam Wing delivering OPERATION: METEOR
The way EG able to do better color separation on the head compared to the HG is a win for me. I build the EG Strike and now waiting for 3rd party IWSP i ordered. Hopefully it fits.
@@serialexperimentzhey3008 I believe Bandai HG Strike Rouge + IWSP is still available in number of places, like Galatic Toys ($19.99). It was recently re-released. 3rd party copy has couple additonal parts to fit it to RG kit, but the quality isn't really good compared to the genuine one. I think price was around $15 from ali. But just be careful when connecting to a strike body with a pure plastic hole rather than polycapped hole (like old 1/144 non-grade, newer HG or EG strike). I broke my IWSP's peg while trying to remove it after few years of display. Polycapped hole was fine even after more than 15 years of display though.
Did you ordered the IWSP made by TGF? Prepare some paints, it's all grey/black plastic, and probably some cement cause it has slightly visible seam gap too. One plus is it has adapters for HG/EG/RG included.
@@First-Name_Last-Name just arrived today. No brand on the box but yeah its in dark gray. I do intend to paint it anyway..i already painted the EG actually.
@@serialexperimentzhey3008 Brand is TGF. It got connector for HG and RG. Already test with the EG. Yeah it fits. Quality not that nice but i do intend to paint it.
Okay fun little tidbit with this kit's Aile Striker Pack! If you take the old(ish) HG Perfect Strike, you can swap out the white central piece of the backpack with the battery packs and swap it with the HGCE Aile Strike's you get a better proportioned and parts separated (Perfect) Aile Pack. The sword and launcher parts are perfectly compatible with the HGCE as well so you essentially get a better HG Perfect Strike!
Its really interesting to me that the first two kits Bandai did EGs of were two kits where there was only a little room to improve over the HG equivalent, instead of doing EGs of suits where the improvements and benefits over the equivalent HG would be a lot more apparent as it is with the Nu. Also this might've just been specific to my EG strike but I've found the ball joints in the hips and feet really like to pop off when I'm trying to pose it.
Absolutely love the HG Aile Strike Gundam revive!! I still kinda prefer it over the Entry Grade version since its not as simple and it's a little more compatible with some older striker packs
For example, I've tried putting the I.W.S.P pack (from the old HG Strike Rouge) on both the HG and Entry Grade strike. For the Entry Grade Strike, only the backpack worked perfect but everything else didn't fit on there very well. And for the HG Strike, the backpack and the combine shield worked very well (tho the shield you have to use the shield connecter from the HG Strike Revive). Unfortunately the 9.1 mm anti-ship swords don't work straight out of the box for both (that's from my experience)
I think the main pro of HGCE Aile Strike is that you don't have to buy an entire separate kit to get it a backpack. I'm tempted to get a dagger+gunbarrel solely to stick the latter onto my EG Strike, but i'd kinda feel bad about the dagger that I have nothing to do with
I've always felt kinda meh for the EG Strike since to me, the HGCE just has the simple advantage of having every basic accessory for a Strike, and it having the advantage of being a nice and simple build with easy ways to fix it up for beginners. Color seperation is amazing on the EG don't get me wrong, but I'd rather have the complete package immediately and with very easy and simple ways for beginners to learn how to fix up their kits. Heck I actually find the EG more appealing to those already in the hobby since if they want to experiment with an extra Strike alongside any of their other packs it's right there.
EG's are also a good alternative for learning on how to paint/scribe/etch HG/RG. Same scale and almost identical articulation. Cheap/easy build and won't be a huge loss if something went wrong during doing the painting/scribing/etching
There is one point you overlooked and tbh this is the clincher that makes the HGCE kit superior for me... the shoulders. Not that the shoulder joint mechanism on the EG is bad or super limited, but compared to the range available to the HGCE it falls short.
Just ordered the EG from USAGS yesterday. Excited to work on it when it comes in. I recently built the EG Nu, but have been tempted to pick up the HG version (or maybe the HWS variant) because of the Funnels and proportions. It would be cool to see you build and review the HG Nu since I know you recently did a review of the EG.
Kinda disagree on the comparison part. The EG hip joint is a ball joint which limits the hip movement. And the EG joint design is very simple and if you don't paint it's can get loose very quickly. Overall I think HG is a better deal because you have the aile striker and better kit IMO.
I have used this kit, HGCE along with the HG Perfect Strike striker packs, to make the Perfect Strike since this kit has a "stronger" torso and can support the Perfect Strike setup better than the kit included with the HG Perfect Strike. then, the Aile Striker of this kit is placed to the EG Strike :)
originally wanted the HGCE aile strike but between having the HGBF tall strike, RG impulse, and HGBF perfect strike freedom i dont think I want it anymore, those kinda scratch my itch in 1/144 scale. i would however love to grab the MG remaster at some point
This Strike by far is the greatest along with EG being able to to adapt use most of striker packs, IWSP, Aile, and the launcher, sword packs if bandai plans to reprint the old strike but the perfect strike pack being adaptable with the newer strike
I only have the entry grade. I display it holding keyblades and I gave him the galaxy booster pack instead of a ootori, iwsp, aile pack. I love the eg. eventually I'll grab an hg strike. got the rg aile strike backlogged tho.
Other than a difference in accessories and details, theres also the issue of the EG's joints wearing themselves out much faster due to being mostly polystyrene-on-polystyrene contact. The HG will last longer when subjected to the same amount of play. The same problem also plagues the EG RX-78 & Nu, and to an extent, it also affects the Fine Build System HGs (Leo, Windam, etc) and the 30MM line.
You know what bothers me? Why hasn't Bandai used this mold to its fullest potential? Like, we can have a new Strike Noir kit from this? Or even Perfect Strike (which the MG RM and even the flimsy RG, of all kits, already have); given how sturdy it is? AFAIK, other than the Build Strike it was based from, the only other variant we have gotten are the Strike Rouge (which is basically just a recolor) and the Tall Strike Glitter.
You know, it might be interesting to mix the two versions together with some of the Entry Grade parts added to the HG. Only main issue with the Entry Grade is that there's 4 different weapon loadouts depending upon where you get it from (The Armor Schneiders, Rifle & Shield, Grand Slam (large switchblade sword), and Bazooka). It really NEEDs a Full Weapons version that adds all of them in one place...perhaps also with the Christmas release EG Strike Rouge done that way as well to draw in people who might have a couple of them already. The Entry Grade Nu could do with an extra option such as a variant of the normal funnels, or a cheaper Full Weapons that adds the funnel weapon thing from the FF, perhaps an empty left arm and the handle for the second beamsword along with the beams... Another fun thing might be an upgrade pack for the entry grades, go with a simpler action base, decals, and the extra gear from other versions.
I would like Bandai to make some grunt suits in this entry grade quality, who doesnt want an army of zakus or GMs or Ginns? people would buy not only one but dozens of them!
speaking of the strike, why come there has yet to be a remould of the Strike Gundam or the Strike Rouge into Kira's Strike Rouge? and they could milk it further into both Kira's Aile Strike Rouge (which was used in the original version of SEED Destiny) and Kira's Strike Rouge Ootori (which was used in the HD Remaster of SEED Destiny)
Because there's no significant difference or no difference at all between Kira's Strike Rouge and OG Strike, even Strike Rouge itself 100% replica of OG Strike save for coloring and extended battery capacity.
@MIRAGE THE GESPENST AND you forgot about making the Strike's eyes green. Oh and adding in Cagali's personal emblem. Unless you're basing it off the original cut for SEED Destiny.
I have the HG Seed Remaster version, which now have no reason to exist anymore. I do have the EG kit and while it's pretty good I'd say it's the worst of the three EG releases so far. Especially the waist joint, it's a ball peg on a square(ish) hole and not as secure as the RX-78 or the Nu Gundam. I also tried it with the Windam backpack and while it's certainly compatible it's also quite loose.
