Heck, Why stop at MG 2.0? God Gundam Deserves a PG by now, ever Since I fought One that Tag Teamed with a PG Master Gundam in Gundam Breaker 3, I’ve just wanted one so badly
The pre-molded inner frame older RGs had was such a cool idea in theory and it's what got me into RGs initially. But yeah, if that idea came at the expense of the kit's longevity I'd rather take what we have now. Even if I don't often change the poses of my gunpla (I'd like to but my shelf is cramped and it's a pain to take kits out when I feel like it), having them loosen up over time means that sometimes they can't even stand up without help and I'd rather not have that. I'd definitely welcome the pre-molded inner frames back though if Bandai ends up refining them to a point where they're as sturdy as normal inner frames. Speaking of them coming back though, that makes me curious about how the PG Unleashed RX-78 holds up now compared to when it was released. With it being a PG, it's even more important for it to be sturdier due to it's weight.
Completely agreed. With the state that the MS Joint was in, the less pre-molded inner frames, the better. I got the RG Exia and its leg was sagging pretty much out of the box, and my RG 00 Raiser couldn't even stand up straight with the 0-Raiser attached until I tightened up the hip. With modern RGs and their MG-styled inner frames, these issues are pretty much non-existent, but there was definitely something really cool about the old full MS Joints. I definitely prefer the state that RGs are in right now, but if Bandai were to improve the molding process so that they don't wear down nearly as quickly, I wouldn't mind seeing the old classic-style MS Joint come back for a kit or two. Or even just reissue older RGs with the improved molding process.
I love the way the recent rg kits have done away with the pre molded inner frames. I really enjoy building them up instead. They look and hold up way better! The pre molded parts gimmick is not what I look for in rg kits. It's an interesting thing if used sparingly and done well. But not necessary for my enjoyment of this line of gunpla.
@@xnflg3074 The more recent rg, I think cross bone and on, no longer had the pre molded inner frames and have a more traditionaly built inner frame like most mg kits.
This and the most recent RG releases are absolute greats. I'm glad they did away with a complete pre-molded inner frame, although it kinda made the RG line a bit more like a 1/144 MG. IMO the idea behind pre-molded inner frames was great, it just wasn't executed properly. I think they would have worked better if they were molded entirely in ABS or some other kind of plastic (IIRC they were molded partly with ABS and partly with polypropylene, which I think contributed to its tendency to get loose relatively easily)
kinda unfortunate that the Fuunsaiki for the P-Bandai expansion set is just the old HGFC kit that came with the HGFC Master Gundam, kinda wished they gave the horse MS a RG treatment too.
I'll never understand why they don't put waterslides in RG kits. I'd pay extra if they just included them. The recent RG kits have been fantastic with all the detail but damn those stickers.
Yeah, more value for money. I bought RG Sazabi when it came out and RG Freedom along with it, so I got both at the same time. I built them at the same month. I don't pose them much often, the RG Sazabi is still solid to this day whilst RG Freedom is already loose.
You said it best. The pre molded inner frame was great because it was THE RG gimmick. It’s sad to see it go, but time isn’t merciful to everyone. The RG 00 raiser still holds up as one of the best RGs.
Anyway I think a good mix of both is the best way for RG to continue. If I want to build a MG frame then I’ll go build a MG, I don’t need a 1/144 MG scale
A good idea before placing the stickers is cut the corners with x-acto etc knife first. That way there won't be excess sticker sheet and it almost like dry transfer type. Then clear coat those evenly to cover the whole decal.
@@ZakuAurelius indeed waterslides are thinner than stickers. I remembered trying my Figma K-On Yui on applying waterslide face-expression on a blank faceplate. Looks nicer and cleaner overall.
I'm a casual gundam/gunpla fan, but I agree. Based on looks this kit is very appealing to me. Never watched G Gundam but will check out a recap just to see what this gundam is all about. I know it's about martial arts tournament and not a traditional gundam series.
you know, I'm just glad they gave the RG the same rotating gauntlets from HiRM those looked really awkward when it's just locked on the side of the arm
One of my supplier from china apparently already have water slides for this kit. As it seems, I'm the one who made the first order. I think there were also other stores selling water slides for the kit.
I got lucky in that I never bought one of the older RGs. Sazabi was my first RG, and that thing is every bit of a tiny MG. Plus 2 of the RG Evas so far. But RG God Gundam is on the way. Lots of good reviews. But it will be the first RG I build that actually feels like 1/144 scale, since the Sazabi is such a unit, and the Evas are as tall as MGs.
Glad they made a version of the God Gundam this beautiful. Can't wait for Bandai to release waterslides for this one and a potential gold plated Hypermode version. For the pre-molded frame I'd prefer if they removed them overall since they tend to get pretty loose over time. The kits without them are a lot sturdier compared to the early ones.
I believe SIMP already has a waterslide decal sheet on the way! 👍 We should have it at USAGS soon. And yes, no doubt there will be a gold plated version!
The God Gundam is my favorite Gundam model and I'm exited for my back-ordered pre-order of t his to be on the way! I might just pay the slight markup to get it shipped from Japan on ebay.
Mine finally came in but no cool packing slip folder or sticker! Heck not even a packed by or a packing sticker. I never asked for these cool free swag items but yall have trained me to expect them...
I'm on the fence about what RG I should buy next after I finish the Epyon The Tallgeese The Nu Gundam Or this absolute unit of articulation Any recommendations?

Agree with the decal parts. That's why I don't bother with them anymore. I don't really care much about those negligible details anyway. As long as the overall proportions of the kit are great and looks accurate to the anime I'm good
I'm planning on getting RG God Gundam but I'm wondering how long does it hold itself from being loose all over the place. Are the pre molded inner frames really that bad after a few months?
I like that Bandai started including English in their manuals. However I really wish in the future they would release them in full-English. Some areas in the manual are missing translations. Would also be nice to insert English Translation manuals with the re-print kits as well.
7 months late, but I'd rather have them get rid of the pre-molded frame completely. The recent RGs have had quite the minimal use of them, and I think it's for the better. The RG Nu's funnels don't quite age greatly, And I'm pretty sure the arms on this one won't too. If they will keep the RG frames, They should be in the less important parts of the suit, or perfect it so it won't age badly. With the recent reveal of RG Epyon, can't quite take my head off the fact that the whip is pre-molded, could put a huge dent in the experience in the long run.

The head sculpt on this is incredible. really hope we get an mg 2.0 that looks like this in the future.
Oh yesss!! The old mg god gundam is so out dated that it makes my dad look younger
I wish they do an RG/MG of Shining Gundam too and the rest of the other gundams from other countries
Heck, Why stop at MG 2.0? God Gundam Deserves a PG by now, ever Since I fought One that Tag Teamed with a PG Master Gundam in Gundam Breaker 3, I’ve just wanted one so badly
A third party company should try upsizing this rg to 1/100
praying to God Gundam that Master and Shining are coming too
and RG Lumber Gundam to lol
Amen
I'm still hoping for tequila gundam
Personally I want to see windmill gundam get the rg treatment it deserves.
@@vali69just imagine the articulation that the windmill Gundam could have. unleashed it's full potential

Premolded frame is mistake
You can't repaint it
You can't modify it with tamiya cement & pla plates
You can't pry it open to fix loose joints
RG have forgone premolded frame and it has shown to be much better & much more solid
I think the current issues now is RG being prone to crack, especially in vent details, due to how small & thin the part is
Also certain female to male joints have thin walls on the female & male joints are generally thicker because it has to be tight, this causes cracks on the female joint & you usually have shave some inner wall of female joint
