Stayed Gone is in my opinion either the 1st or 2nd best song in Hazbin Hotel. And that is a HIGH BAR because many of them are fantastic. It blew me out of the water, dunked me in again, and blew me out ANOTHER time. (Let's pretend like I didn't describe waterboarding as positive now that I reread that.) It's so good I straight up tried to learn the piano parts for this song (wip) and it took me no time to try singing both parts. I wasn’t at all ready for a villain song THIS SOON. (Though I shouldn’t have been surprised. We’re in hell.) The introduction of the Vee’s absolutely SENDS me, (they are just a hilarious bunch together) and anything Alistor does is beyond freaky but they also just let him 100% steal the show. The other parts of the episode I was fine with but the villain dynamics are just OUTSTANDING.
The songs in “Hazbin Hotel” are a true marvel to behold, in so many different ways besides the animation and lyrics. Take “Stayed Gone” as an example. Not only does it establish the rivalry between Alastor and Vox, it also gives us a good look into their personalities just the way they’re singing their lyrics. Vox’s aggressive diss-track may give the impression that he has the upper-hand but you notice that he sounds nervous and really unsure of himself. A sharp contrast with Alastor whose every word just oozes with confidence despite his calmer demeanor. Ending the song with the radio demon using Vox’s opening lyrics against him to really drive home his superiority is just musical poetry and perfection! I can’t even imagine how the next three seasons will be cooking when it comes to gracing our ears with their impeccable songs.
The punishment for them is that they can't die like normal humans, can't trust anyone cause someone could turn out to be murderer raphistt and stuff like that and most of the sinners are like this, they also have acid rain on which Alastor was talking about in episode 3, and they don't have a justice sistem, there's no cops or anything like that.
@@The.Original.Phoenix7 yeh but I'm talking about hazbin only.and even in helluva boss the justice sistem is broken only if it's not about very royal demons.

And now Pentious being the new friend that just wants to belong somewhere.
I haven’t watched you guys since the arcane reactions and omg i’m so happy to see you guys are finally married!! I’m so glad you’re reacting to hazbin.
13:50, ROUND ONE, goes to Alaster. You know, for all his talk of professionalism and control, he REALLY went overboard as soon as he heard Alaster was back in town.
You might like Helluva Boss too. Same universe and creator as Hazbin Hotel. Free on youtube. Currently on season 2. New episode at the end of this month.
Pentagram City is basically the hellish version of NY City and is the biggest and most important city of the Pride Ring, being home almost exclusively to sinner demons, with Charlie being one of the few hellborn demons living there. Just like NY, Pentagram City is divided in different districts, each for each part of the pentagram: Uptown (upmost location where the hotel is located), Downtown (the center, where the Heaven embassy is located), Doomsday (the most chaotic part of the city), Cannibal Town (where the cannibals live), Industrial (where Carmilla lives) and Entertainment (where the Vees live). Pentagram City is also the biggest and most important city of the Pride Ring and is home almost exclusively to sinner demons, with Charlie being the only
Charlie has never experienced what its like to grow up human so the most she knows is bits on what a good human is meant to be or do and the flimsy reasons that get them in hell but not the in-between. Her heart is in the right place though.
Being in hell is punishment itself in this world. Sort of a "if you cant behave you cant go to heaven" kind of thing. So youre trapped in hell for eternity where you can only die by an angels hand locked in politics of contract overlords that make the world around them worse
But Charlie is setting out to show the possibility that people aren’t always straight out evil and have some regret and could become better if they decide they want to and be given the opportunity to get a better life. The show’s main theme is about redemption while Helluva Boss, it’s sister spinoff, it’s main theme is about relationships.
i love it. Vox goes all Alastor boooo, nobody cares. boooo i say! While Alastor retorts with style and class and razamatazz. Fi Fei Fo Fum i smell the fear of a flat faced man be he alive or be he dead, i shall grind his bones to bake my bread.
The punishment is everyone. In this iteration of hell some of the worst people are brought together and do horrible things to everyone else. A majority of the suffering in this hell is what they do to each other. If they werent mostly horrible people i figure things would be fine aside from the extermination every year. So much of hell you see people partying and such. I mean hell there even seems to be a currency system in hell..its all a self powered suffering machine. Its also kind of funny in a fucked up way when you realize that the worse of a person you were in life the better time you have in this hell. Either it enables you to accumulate power easily and have the strength and will to fight for yourself or it straight up gives you a powerful form to start off.
Hell may look like just a darker version of Earth, but that doesn't mean it's not a torment to the sinners that are sent there. Sinner demons are (in a loose and black-and-white term) bad people who are confined to a single part of Hell (the Pride Ring) from where they cannot escape. This causes them to enter in conflicts, fighting and "killing" each other. As sinner demons can only be killed by angelic weapons, they always respawn painfully whenever they are torned apart. Not just that, but the fact demons can make deals to own souls shows how some demons can submit others to them.
(At 9:12) Radio Demon vs. Television Demon. Which demon do you think is more… "entertaining" (radio and television both electronics for entertainment)?
After you finish this series I HIGHLY recommend checking out its sister show Helluva Boss made by the same studio set in the same universe, they began making it to occupy them while they were waiting for a company to pick up Hazbin hotel. It’s completely free posted on RUclips, Hazbin Hotel focusing on redemption as their main theme while Helluva Boss focuses on relationships between the characters and explores a lot of amazing topics delving into nearly every characters backstories throughout the show and the resulting characteristics they each have effecting their current relationships
So they don't really clarify certain things and you only fully understand things that are mentioned if you also watch Helluva Boss. The "Pentagram" Sir Pentious mentioned in the pilot is Pentagram City which as the same suggests is shaped like a pentagram it's the city the show takes place in and is a city where the majority of it's citizens are Mortal Souls. In the first episode's song Happy Day in Hell you actually get to see one of the non-Mortal Soul demons a Hellborn Imp. He's the one that was singing about shoving things in the other guy's holes. Also fun fact about Imps is you can tell whether they're male or female by their horns; males have thick white stripes on their horns and females have thin white stripes and it's a really cool detail as you can spot trans imps by that. The other named city we know about is Imp City which is the part of the Pride Ring that Helluva Boss mostly takes place in. Both Pentagram City and Imp city are located in the Pride Ring; Hell is divided into The Seven Rings of Hell which in no particular order are Pride, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, and Envy; and Mortal Souls aren't allowed to leave the Pride Ring. Each of the Rings is ruled over by one of the Seven Deadly Sins who are all insanely powerful Hellborn Demons, excluding the Ruler of the Pride Ring the Sin of Pride which is Lucifer who is also the King of Hell. There is no punishment in Hell, being sent to Hell is the punishment in and of itself. Which is why Hell appears to just be a regular world with people living their lives and having jobs, only things are just really sh*tty. They're trapped there until they're exterminated and everyone around them are sinners who have done things of various severities of evil so it's just a horrible place to live as everyone just makes life terrible for everyone else. But there is no specific punishments or anything. Vox and Alastor aren't punishments for each other Vox is just antagonistic towards Alastor because of reasons and is why trying to kill Alastor is Vox's "kink". The ranking system in Hell from lowest to highest goes: Hell Hounds < Imps < Succubus and most other Hellborn demons < Mortal Souls < Overlords who are Mortal Souls that have obtained substantial power < the Ars Goetia they are the Hellborn Demon nobility and the weakest of them is several times stronger than the most powerful Overlords < The Seven Deadly Sins excluding Lucifer < Charlie < Lilith < Lucifer.
Charlie clearly doesn't understand what redemption really means. However, her lessons actually help sinners to develop the bases and tools they need to actually find redemption. She teaches them notions like kindness, forgiveness, trust... that alone are not enough, but enables sinners with what they need to actually improve themselves and face their sins. Not just that, but the fact the hotel harbors different demons, it allows them to form bonds with one another.
Just for the record because I don't think it's ever really stated but as Lucifers Daughter, Charlie is technically far far more powerful than Alastor. The Hierachy should be smt like Lucifer, then Charlie and her Mom, then the Deadly Sins that rule over the seven rings of Hell (Hazbin takes place in Pride. Thats the only Ring Sinners get sent to), then Overlords like Alastor, Vox, Valentino etc and then Sinners
Yes my ultimate best baby girl is here, I love you Valentino. God he’s such a shitty little moth and I love everything he does, the way he squeaks when he gets so wound up and how he was just bedazzling his gun what a little goober. The Vees are the best power throuple.
Little tip for you! You can find out the time when demons died by how they speak. Little spoiler: Alastor died in the 40s, Valentino is spanish and died probably in the 70s, Velvet is british and probably died in the XXI century
I wouldn't be too hard on Charlie for putting Angel to play that role. She doesn't know anything about his problems and he's always wearing a mask of nonchalance around the others in the hotel. She would've asked him, but he said himself that he's here just because of free rent, not for redemption.
He's not "struggling" with drug addiction either. It's HELL. They are in HELL. He's HERE because of drugs and whoring and being a degenerate. Everyone Charlie wants to save is. They mentioned briefly like the fire and brimstone kind of hell, but this seems like just a place people live. Like yeah, the punishment of Hell is EVERY shitty person from earth ends up there and by extension makes Hell a shitty place. Hell is where all the serial killers, the criminals, the people that want to torture people for entertainment go. The people that just don't give a shit about anyone else. Turns out when you shove everyone like that into one city, it's not great as a community. Angel is only upset because Pentious is getting Charlie's admiration, rather than him being upset about the drug part. If anything he's complaining about how bad the script is. Basically Angel's just jealous.
@@haku8135 Yes also considering angel kept saying he's not interested in redeeming himself but only because of free rent while pentious directly says he wants to be redeemed(which is fake at that time) and participates in her project with passion. I kinda understand why she favored pentious over angel tbh. And the fact that charlie has never experienced humans' life and has been probably sheltered also makes her hard to understand the concept of sin. However, charlie's kindness and forgiveness seems to work with sir pentious since he always wanted to be respected and acknowledged by someone.I think charlie's character development will be along the line of understanding sinners from their perspectives and she seems to acknowledge her mistakes and try to fix her problem so there's more possibility. (sry i didn't know this will turn out to be essay.)
14:50 The three V's together run all of Hell's Television, Social Media and Porn Industry. The amount of souls they own or control together puts them on the level of an "Overlord" which you know from the next episode. Basically any one of them only counts for 1/3rd of an Overlord and Alister is one of the strongest even by Overlord standards. Vox has no chance against him.
So a demon's true form is usually related to how they died, or lived. Still not sure on that. Also my own personal theory is that the X's on a demon's body is related to their fatal wound.
Damn, I’m gonna have to do some lore breakdowns aren’t I? This stuff is never explicitly stated in the show, so I’ll let you know to alleviate some confusion. There are a few things to note about how Hell works in this universe. Firstly there are two major types of demons. The first are Sinners, who are humans who have been damned to Hell after death. When they arrive in Hell they gain a demonic form that usually reflects how they died and is designed to make them hate how they look. Alastor is a notable example, seeing how his demon form is that of a deer, referencing how he died in a deer hunting related accident. Sinners cannot reproduce, are confined to the Pride Ring of Hell and are biologically immortal. The only way they can be killed is through the use of blessed weapons, which angels use during the Extermination, explaining why Hell is so overcrowded. The second type of Demons are Hellborn, which are exactly what they sound like. These are demons that were born in Hell. They vary a lot depending on how high up the hierarchy they are, but the lower classes are able to be killed with regular weaponry, whilst royals need the blessed weapons described before. Charlie is the only Hellborn in the main cast of Hazbin, but the sister series, Helluva Boss focuses a lot more on how the lower and upper classes of Hellborn live in this world. The Hierarchy of Hell basically works like this, from highest to lowest: 1. Lucifer. A fallen Angel. The King of Hell and the Sin of Pride. 2. Lilith. The First Woman and Lucifer’s wife. The Queen of Hell 3. Charlie Morningstar. Their daughter. A smol bean. 4. The remaining Six Members of The Seven Deadly Sins. Asmodeus. Satan. Leviathan. Mammon. Beelzebub. Belphegor. They each run a ring of Hell, kinda like Dante’s Inferno. 5. The Ars Goetia. A collection of 72 noble Demon families with very strong magic and rigid sensibilities. 6. Overlords. Powerful demons who have come into being by providing necessary advancements to Hell. Alastor is the Overlord of Radio, because he brought the idea of radio with him to Hell when he died. 7. Sinners. Described above. 8. Hellborn demons. 9. Imps and Hellhounds. The lowest of the low. Often working class or even slaves
I think you guys are reading to much into that deal between Alastor and Vaggie, they didnt even shake for that. It was a simple deal, he would help her with the commerical as long as she never asked him to do anything involving TV, he hates TV and all technology past 1930s.
11:55 "ALMOST beat him" I'm glad someone else caught onto that, it's implied that the two got into a fight a while ago, and it was a close call, but Vox did just barely come out on top
I think the reason for that is Vox got backup at the last moment which I'm guessing is Val and Velvette. Remember Alastor said Vox is powerless without the other Vees. It could also mean in the middle of their fight, something more important came up and Alastor had to leave with extended for seven years during which Vox took advantage of and monopolized the media during his absence, or Alastor was simply caught off guard. I assumed Alastor was more powerful than Vox and in Stayed Gone, Vox's demeanor suggests he's actually pretty wary of Alastor. These are just multiple theories anyway and could be wrong.
It just occurred to me that by the wording, Vox probably is more powerful than Alastor. *SPOILERS*! Overlords get their power via influence. Currently, especially after his 7 year absence, TV is far more popular than Radio. And the wording “He almost beat you THAT time.” Altogether implies that Vox is stronger in raw power but Alastor is just tricker.

My interpretation of the hints we were given was that Alastor was taking down the overlords one by one. But before he could finish off Vox, Velvette and Valentino stepped in, and they fought him off. I think that's also when they became The Vees
Angel dust family were gangsters and having to pretend to be one brought back memories, he also uses drugs to cope with his own inadequacies
I just love how Alastor just fries Vox at the end by default, because he/his face can’t be captured on screens.
everyday we getting closer and closer to episode 4... when that video airs im going to sob.
That's so real I'm really excited for there reaction!
You know the song is good when it’s the thumbnail of the video
6:48 How am I just noticing that Kitty is a Robo-Fizz? Damn he's popular
Oh man… they hate Valentino now, but just wait til ep 4… I cannot wait to see how they react 😬
We’re in hell.)
The introduction of the Vee’s absolutely SENDS me, (they are just a hilarious bunch together) and anything Alistor does is beyond freaky but they also just let him 100% steal the show.
Hell does have a justice system. But it only affects Hellborn demons, which you would know if you had seen Helluva Boss.
So basically Hell is Tampa?
@@The.Original.Phoenix7 yeh but I'm talking about hazbin only.and even in helluva boss the justice sistem is broken only if it's not about very royal demons.
@@Saba-tt7xf That is true. But at least there is some form of justice system in Hell. I mean, we know there are laws against going to the human world unpermitted and too frequently. A prime example is Blitz using Stolas' grimoire.
Fun fact: Angel dust's VA voices the eggbois as well
I just love the dysfunctional family dynamic the main cast has. Charlie being the youngest sibling (ironic, since she's probably the oldest out of everyone), Vaggie and Angel being twins, her being the rational emo and him being the fun chaotic one, Alastor being the fun uncle bringing Husker and Nifty, him being the oldest, most responsible of the bunch and drinks cause he hates it, and Nifty being the chaos junkie that love it all. And now Pentious being the new friend that just wants to belong somewhere.
Can we maybe recast Charlie as not the sister? Because she and Vaggie do things sisters really ought not.
@@jimballard1186 step-sister then. They just have a very dysfunctional family dynamic that I find funny.
@@TheMadhatter1313 I'm cackling at this
I love Montana's expressions through this, haha.
The way she reacted to the "put something inside them" line from Valentino, priceless. :'D
I haven’t watched you guys since the arcane reactions and omg i’m so happy to see you guys are finally married!! I’m so glad you’re reacting to hazbin.
I do think the grand humbling of Alastor is one of my favorite things the show does especially after the set up we had from the pilot.
I think a thing with this series is Charlie doesn't really know what she's doing also so this is a learning experience for her as much as the others.
*coughs in knowledge of what’s coming*
Pentagram City is also the biggest and most important city of the Pride Ring and is home almost exclusively to sinner demons, with Charlie being the only
Alastor’s unfiltered laugh at the end there is so good
Charlie has never experienced what its like to grow up human so the most she knows is bits on what a good human is meant to be or do and the flimsy reasons that get them in hell but not the in-between. Her heart is in the right place though.
10:29 i just realized this show is a play on the phrase corporate hell
Being in hell is punishment itself in this world. Sort of a "if you cant behave you cant go to heaven" kind of thing. So youre trapped in hell for eternity where you can only die by an angels hand locked in politics of contract overlords that make the world around them worse
But Charlie is setting out to show the possibility that people aren’t always straight out evil and have some regret and could become better if they decide they want to and be given the opportunity to get a better life.
The show’s main theme is about redemption while Helluva Boss, it’s sister spinoff, it’s main theme is about relationships.
@@Otisboy121 yes I know. I was answering the question of why there's no actual punishment that they asked
@@infiniteshay8660 and I was corroborating in what you said.
@@Otisboy121 sorry I thought you were answering my post like it was a question

i love it.
Vox goes all Alastor boooo, nobody cares. boooo i say!
While Alastor retorts with style and class and razamatazz.
Fi Fei Fo Fum
i smell the fear of a flat faced man
be he alive or be he dead,
i shall grind his bones to bake my bread.
(At 7:44) No, Vox didn't try to hypnotize Valentino. Like anyone else would do in most reactions, All he did was just "snapped" raising his voice.
It goes to show how powerful Alastor is that he was able to disappear for a *long* time and still be able to inspire that much fear when he returned.
Either it enables you to accumulate power easily and have the strength and will to fight for yourself or it straight up gives you a powerful form to start off.
i just found your channel and i really love the way you guys edit and format your videos :) can't wait to watch more
Hell may look like just a darker version of Earth, but that doesn't mean it's not a torment to the sinners that are sent there.
(At 14:27) Well, when he was killed, he WAS mistaken for a deer and got headshot… after committing a murder. The "X" on his forehead is proof of it.
Everyone ignores how Alastor was capable of hacking Vox's video feed.
I love how every reactor I’ve watched all pronounce Alastor wrong. It’s hilarious. No diss, it’s just funny.
I cant sing stayed gone without alastor's meme: lets be gayyy😂
You do NOT want to look up a donkey show just know that it relates to angels work
Next you guys need to finish the disney channel trifecta. Which is amphibia!
Hating Valentino is the greatest understatement of the century. I'm pretty sure the entire fandom wants that Moth-bastard double dead
@@zekeavery6526 him and Lute
(At 19:15) WOW. WTF Charlie?
they skipped my favorite part! "this isn't stupid! it is the game! Sir Pentious did it well so please try to do the same!"
Alastor was gone for 7 years like charlie's mother
Bojack Horseman, best adult animated series i ever watch, please give it a oportunity
Yes my ultimate best baby girl is here, I love you Valentino. God he’s such a shitty little moth and I love everything he does, the way he squeaks when he gets so wound up and how he was just bedazzling his gun what a little goober. The Vees are the best power throuple.
Yeah yeah we all dislike the angels and the extermination.
But with Val it's on sight.
Am I crazy or did they remove the part where he says "What would the papers say" after he says "ofc, Can't let my project fall into disrepair already"
That whole anti drug skit I feel like even those in Refer Madness would be laughing at how hokey it is...
Vox vs Alastor
Little tip for you! You can find out the time when demons died by how they speak.
Little spoiler: Alastor died in the 40s, Valentino is spanish and died probably in the 70s, Velvet is british and probably died in the XXI century
vox I'm totally over him I have a whole musical number about how much I hate him me for sure mate

I had a hazbin hotel OC that was the book demon!
Man i hope you guys react to Helluva Boss or Murder Drones/Cliffside/TADC
Please react to Amphibia, Kipo, Young Justice, or Vox Machina after Hazbin Hotel.
They originally wanted to have Mark Hamil to voice Vox
Vox always reminds me of will arnett, kinda surprised it's not him
22:37 awh sir pen's face :(
is it only me or was s4 ep11 of korra removed from your channel?
14:50 The three V's together run all of Hell's Television, Social Media and Porn Industry. The amount of souls they own or control together puts them on the level of an "Overlord" which you know from the next episode.
Basically any one of them only counts for 1/3rd of an Overlord and Alister is one of the strongest even by Overlord standards. Vox has no chance against him.
Dont forget the free on RUclips sister show helluva boss
Bro your joeline is crazy
So a demon's true form is usually related to how they died, or lived. Still not sure on that. Also my own personal theory is that the X's on a demon's body is related to their fatal wound.
This should be fun.
You are really sure you hate Val now? Without Spoil: That will get waaaaaaay more.^^
If y’all are reacting to this i wonder if you guys would react to the amazing digital circus (when the show is finished at least)
YES! Love this one! 😆
Please, daisies, can you see the human form of Alastor, it came out recently about how he died
You guys should do a reaction to addict
Off topic from the video, but I'm hoping after Hazbin Hotel you guys will watch Amphibia!
I think you'll appreciate this, but I always imagine "It Starts With Sorry" as Adora singing with Catra
Did you guys catch the “7 years” bit?
The Hierarchy of Hell basically works like this, from highest to lowest:
1. Lucifer. A fallen Angel. The King of Hell and the Sin of Pride.
2. Lilith. The First Woman and Lucifer’s wife. The Queen of Hell
3. Charlie Morningstar. Their daughter. A smol bean.
4. The remaining Six Members of The Seven Deadly Sins. Asmodeus. Satan. Leviathan. Mammon. Beelzebub. Belphegor. They each run a ring of Hell, kinda like Dante’s Inferno.
5. The Ars Goetia. A collection of 72 noble Demon families with very strong magic and rigid sensibilities.
6. Overlords. Powerful demons who have come into being by providing necessary advancements to Hell. Alastor is the Overlord of Radio, because he brought the idea of radio with him to Hell when he died.
7. Sinners. Described above.
8. Hellborn demons.
9. Imps and Hellhounds. The lowest of the low. Often working class or even slaves
IT STARTS WITH SSSORRYYYYY
Ohhh the bad boys are here.
I think you guys are reading to much into that deal between Alastor and Vaggie, they didnt even shake for that. It was a simple deal, he would help her with the commerical as long as she never asked him to do anything involving TV, he hates TV and all technology past 1930s.
Velvette’s mean 😂 ? That’s a first ..
Alistor is extremely dangerous.
5:35, REMEMBER THE EYES! When a demon has a blackened eye like that, it means they are in a soul deal. That's why Dusty`s eyes are different.
11:55 "ALMOST beat him"
I'm glad someone else caught onto that, it's implied that the two got into a fight a while ago, and it was a close call, but Vox did just barely come out on top
Book demon? Anyone else think of Stolas?
