The central story of this show is the conflict (physical or otherwise) between Heaven and Hell, and Charlie's plan to rehabilitate sinners so that this conflict doesn't have to happen. Every so-called "new plot point" directly ties into this, either directly or thematically, and even then they never straight up forget any plot points. The odd pace of the writing is to blame for making it seem otherwise, but the show itself isn't bad if you can keep up.
A little fun fact. Angel Dust was playing with the window in the limo, because he died at a time, where automatic car windows were not a thing, so he got fascinated by it.
I'm SO glad Montana had the same thought that I had watching this pilot when it first came out - since Charlie is the only one who was born in hell, she was never sent there. She has the possibility of being a truly good person because she is not a sinner, demon, or fallen angel. To her, this is just where she lives, and she isn't 'required' to be evil in any way.
To explain the "dying again" thing, when a Sinner "dies" from typical means (like the guy that got hit by a car) they just regenerate later, but if a Sinner is specifically killed with an angelic weapon their soul just dissappears forever.

Just for you to know... Sinner demons are immortal, they can be shot, crushed, cut, blown up... that they will never die and respawn as if they are having a hangover. There's only one way to kill them for good and, when that happens, their essense fuses with the surroundings, creating the eyes that we see at the background. Between hellborn demons, only those with royal status (like Charlie) are immortal, while the others are mortal.
Fun fact: Caty Killjoy is based of a character from comedian known as Brandon Rogers who makes the craziest and out of pocket skits you'll ever see. The character name is Bryce and she is one of his well known characters he's made

Fun reaction, glad you're enjoying the show! For years all we had was the pilot, the official music video "ADDICT" and other songs (these shows inspire fan music that's better than most official soundtracks, well worth checking out), and it's been great seeing the rest of the world discover the Hotel. I know some fans were disappointed that the main show was toned down a bit from the nonstop craziness of the pilot. But seeing reactions like yours makes it clear that was the right strategic choice.
One thing I LOVE about Alastor on the Pilot is his energy, like, hr just summoned tentacles that blowed up a whole flying ship with the most terrifying face you have ever seen and then turns to the Hotel crew and says "Well I'm starved, who wants some jambalaya??" like NOTHING happend 5 seconds ago LMAOOOO love our ace king!

I agree with all this, but it feels wrong to say that voodoo itself (a closed religion that has been misrepresented as evil in all media for over a century) would cause the cannibalism. Now I don’t know enough about voodoo to say weather or not any malicious “dark arts”-style voodoo would lead to cannibalistic tendencies, but it feels disrespectful to a whole misunderstood culture to claim such. Gonna do a quick correction. Saying Alastor's stint with voodoo lead to cannibalism is ...kinda racist. Voodoo is not an inherently evil practice; it's an important cultural aspect for many Haitians/Descendants of Haitians. It's no different from any other spiritual faith. Alastor took Voodoo rituals and twisted and corrupted it, which is why all his Voodoo symbols are a little off.
In the Hazbin/Helluva Boss universe Satan and Lucifer are two seperate characters. Lucifer is Charlie's dad, not Satan. Satan is the ruler of the Ring of Wrath. Lucifer rules all Hell.

I did not expect you to start with the Pilot and oh my god I love your sinners. Anyways here's me giving lore that is unmentioned in the show. (I will misguide them with from major plot points using theories from the time of the episode) -Tom Trench died during WWII to mustard gas -Angel Dust's driver at the beginning is named Frank -Vaggie lost her eye when she died in 2018 I think?(I don't remember how she died) -10:57 the demon in the bottom right corner was the early concept design of Blitz who is a character from another show made by Viv in a separate show that takes place in the same Hell. -Alastor died in the 1930s when a hunter thought he was a deer while he was burying a body. -12:40 the dog person is the early concept design for Luna who is in the same show as Blitz -The super heroes part was scrapped later in the show -Charlie's 2 little demons are named Razzle and Dazzle who were plushies Lucifer brought to life to act as her bodyguards. -When a sinner dies they regenerate unless killed by an angelic weapon. If killed by an angelic weapon they die permanently "sounds a little like princess and the frog" Wait till you see who voices Husk in the official show.

So Husker's voice actor got replaced by Keith David who plays Dr. Facilier from Disney's Princess and the Frog which is a decided improvement. Alastor is still one of the fan favorites as is Sir Pentious(btw, you missed the after credit scene showing that he survived.) I can't wait to see you react to episodes 4 and 8.
I'm so happy you're watching this! Hazbin/Helluva are amazing! Which reminds me... when you finish Hazbin, you definitely need to watch Helluva Boss, the spinoff. It's required, you must watch it, no refusals allowed! 😁 It's not the clearest thing, even throughout the series, but Satan and Lucifer are two different people. Charlie is Lucifer's daughter, not Satan's. Also, it *should* remind you of Princess and the Frog: Alastor is a voodoo man from 1933 New Orleans. He's very Facilier-coded, but if Disney went darker and more demonic.
Don't you love the fact some people questioned if this was for kids? Ah, yes, a show about perverted demons living it up in hell flamboyantly yelling absurdities and having a lot of smex. Totally for kids! It's animated after all, if it's animated its just a stupid dumb kid show... right? God, I can't believe people still can't fathom the notion "just because it's animated, doesn't mean it's child friendly".
The geography of hell is explained more in Helluva Boss but basically human souls are restricted to the pride ring because they are innately more powerful than hellspawn in that they can only be killed permanently by angelic weapons. Otherwise they will literally just respawn in hell. This is also why the pride ring is overpopulated. But every sin has a circle or pentagram that they have hellspawn in, save for Pride whose only hellspawn that we know of is Charlie. Hellspawn being native demons who have lived there since hell was born. Sinners also cannot have children, but hellspawn can and when a hellspawn dies they do not reincarnate or respawn in hell. They are simply gone. Also Satan and Lucifer are two different entities in this world. Just like how biblically its never stated that they are the same. Lucifer rules over the pride ring while Satan rules over the wrath ring.

Great that you are watching Hazbin hotel!!! Some of the symbols used when Alastor appears on the screen are actually parts of real voodoo practices and has been critizised alot. Since Alastor can at times seem like a very stereotypical voodoo-shadowman.
when the sinner is killedin hell they just respawn but the process is really painful exept if they are kiled with angelic weapon then they just stop existing. its never said directly in the show but its pretty important infoso i figure you should know it

I agree with all this, but it feels wrong to say that voodoo itself (a closed religion that has been misrepresented as evil in all media for over a century) would cause the cannibalism. Now I don’t know enough about voodoo to say weather or not any malicious “dark arts”-style voodoo would lead to cannibalistic tendencies, but it feels disrespectful to a whole misunderstood culture to claim such. (/genuine, I only come from a place of learning and wanting to teach)

Gonna do a quick correction. Saying Alastor's stint with voodoo lead to cannibalism is ...kinda racist. Voodoo is not an inherently evil practice; it's an important cultural aspect for many Haitians/Descendants of Haitians. It's no different from any other spiritual faith. Alastor took Voodoo rituals and twisted and corrupted it, which is why all his Voodoo symbols are a little off.

In the Hazbin/Helluva Boss universe Satan and Lucifer are two seperate characters. Lucifer is Charlie's dad, not Satan. Satan is the ruler of the Ring of Wrath. Lucifer rules all Hell.

Anyways here's me giving lore that is unmentioned in the show. (I will misguide them with from major plot points using theories from the time of the episode)
-Tom Trench died during WWII to mustard gas
-Angel Dust's driver at the beginning is named Frank
-Vaggie lost her eye when she died in 2018 I think?(I don't remember how she died)
-10:57 the demon in the bottom right corner was the early concept design of Blitz who is a character from another show made by Viv in a separate show that takes place in the same Hell.
-Alastor died in the 1930s when a hunter thought he was a deer while he was burying a body.
-12:40 the dog person is the early concept design for Luna who is in the same show as Blitz
-The super heroes part was scrapped later in the show
-Charlie's 2 little demons are named Razzle and Dazzle who were plushies Lucifer brought to life to act as her bodyguards.
-When a sinner dies they regenerate unless killed by an angelic weapon. If killed by an angelic weapon they die permanently

So Husker's voice actor got replaced by Keith David who plays Dr. Facilier from Disney's Princess and the Frog which is a decided improvement. Alastor is still one of the fan favorites as is Sir Pentious(btw, you missed the after credit scene showing that he survived.) I can't wait to see you react to episodes 4 and 8.

It's not the clearest thing, even throughout the series, but Satan and Lucifer are two different people. Charlie is Lucifer's daughter, not Satan's.
Also, it *should* remind you of Princess and the Frog: Alastor is a voodoo man from 1933 New Orleans. He's very Facilier-coded, but if Disney went darker and more demonic.
Don't you love the fact some people questioned if this was for kids? Ah, yes, a show about perverted demons living it up in hell flamboyantly yelling absurdities and having a lot of smex. Totally for kids! It's animated after all, if it's animated its just a stupid dumb kid show... right? God, I can't believe people still can't fathom the notion "just because it's animated, doesn't mean it's child friendly".

The geography of hell is explained more in Helluva Boss but basically human souls are restricted to the pride ring because they are innately more powerful than hellspawn in that they can only be killed permanently by angelic weapons. Otherwise they will literally just respawn in hell. This is also why the pride ring is overpopulated.
But every sin has a circle or pentagram that they have hellspawn in, save for Pride whose only hellspawn that we know of is Charlie. Hellspawn being native demons who have lived there since hell was born.
Sinners also cannot have children, but hellspawn can and when a hellspawn dies they do not reincarnate or respawn in hell. They are simply gone.
Also Satan and Lucifer are two different entities in this world. Just like how biblically its never stated that they are the same. Lucifer rules over the pride ring while Satan rules over the wrath ring.

Great that you are watching Hazbin hotel!!! Some of the symbols used when Alastor appears on the screen are actually parts of real voodoo practices and has been critizised alot. Since Alastor can at times seem like a very stereotypical voodoo-shadowman.

when the sinner is killedin hell they just respawn but the process is really painful exept if they are kiled with angelic weapon then they just stop existing. its never said directly in the show but its pretty important infoso i figure you should know it
