I bought the A6 in plastic recently and it's super handy. For some reason when I saw other footage I thought it was glass :P But holding it in person it's pretty compact, flat and lightweight enough. Thanks for the heads-up about the stainless bottle. I think even with the proper caps that extra weight might be a dealbreaker for me :P

Yeh the regular A6 definitely is handy for smaller bags the vapur cant fit in but that stainless one is heavy for no reason lol its not even insulated

Great review! 1)leaky cap, 2)can't stand upright 3)expensive price. I'll get the clear one then.

With plastic you can see how much water is left. This is the best advantage and the most important reason to buy it. The stainless steel (the outer white color) will definitely peel off over time and not look nice anymore. The winner is definitely the plastic, apart from the fact that it (lighter and) looks nicer (more minimalistic).

That’s a bummer. I’ve always thought these were such a cool idea but not able to stand on their own is a goofy design decision

Yeah they could have easily designed it to have a more flat bottom but they really want to sell the stand I guess

@@PackingLess I think the stand was actually added in due to customer requests from people wanting it to stand on their desks rather than lay down and take up a lot more space on a desk. I suspect the rounded edges were an aesthetic design decision as it does look nice, it makes it feel a bit more premium and also stands out from other bottles (esp the clones that have inevitably come to copy it. They would have expected this and figured they'd do sharp edges as it's cheaper to manufacture. So this way they retain some difference from the copycats).

I would like the classic clear one because it should fit my sling bag, but 31 euros for a plastic bottle is a bit outrageous...that what my 1L insulated stainless steel flasks cost...

I wasn't looking for a video on the vapur 500ml but it was on my list. I find it strange that the metal versions are not the same dimensions (and capacity). Maybe it was a manufacturing limitation.
The plastic A6 is 375ml while the metal one is 500ml and thicker. I'm aiming to carry around 500ml but I can't go thicker since I won't be able to pack headphones in the bag. So the 500ml metal A6 will not work. The bag is the bigger bellroy lite sling.
The A5 bottle just fits, but it's more capacity than I need at 750ml. The perfect bottle for my use case would just be a slightly longer A6. The slim doesn't suit because it's actually a touch too long.
As for memobottle vs vapur - I think the vapur pouch style bottles will eventually fail. It's a matter or when. Lots of reviews saying as much, as well as personal experience with this style but not vapur brand specifically.
Ultimately the rigid memobottle is a better general use bottle while the pouch style bottles are more versatile but don't look or feel as good (sharp edges, flops around as capacity decreases).

Yeah I cant work out why they went with such a confusing naming scheme. They should have named the metal one A6+ at the very least so there wouldnt be confusion or maybe A6.5. The vapur bottles have lasted years of daily use for me without any failure but I think its because I'm careful with how I hold and unscrew the lid. I did have older ones before that leaked but thats because if you fold the sides as you unscrew it it does wear it down. But if you hold the flat side and unscrew it it doesnt bend and wear the plastic. But yeh I hope memo or someone make a nice self standing 500ml bottle in the future.

How have you found the seal on the clear version? I would be interested to know if it has started leaking through use. Thanks for the videos.

Thanks for that great review. I own the Vapur bottle but usually carry it outside of my bag because I do not trust the cap to stay closed since it just „clicks“ shut. I do not want to have my items, especially my notebook, soaked if the cap accidentally pops open. Do you have experiences how the chances are that this might happen? Thanks and regards, Christian

I havent had a vapur bottle cap open in my bag but some of the original (9+ years ago, its fixed now) designs did leak a little but I got a vapur bottle ive been using for 10 years now that doesnt and hasnt leaked at all

@@PackingLess Thank you for the swift response. I‘ve hat no issues with it also, but since I am writing with fountain pens it would be a pity if my notebook would be soaked accidentally ;-). Have a good one.

It doesn’t stand so you gotta screw that cap on every time. Good luck cleaning it. What a dumb design. Why are people hyping it? And the other is plastic not glass?! Might as well drink out of a plastic water bottle. At least that stands up on its own. Yikes!
