    HOW I REVIEW:
    As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
    DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
    A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.
    AFFILIATE LINKS:
    No matter if I like or dislike a product, I want to make it easy for you to check out the product yourself. Therefore I include a link of the productpage. I've thought about doing the thing where you hide your passport or other wallet with credit cards under the sink or bed... but knowing myself, I'll probably forget I did that, leave the hotel, get to the airport and then realize my mistake. i just always take my passport with me because you usually have to, depending on the country.

    I like the CAS2 but even I feel it is too small for travel use especially if you want to bring a water bottle and camera and packable jacket/totes etc. I also hate heavy slings like more than 1kg or so feels like a lopsided weight on my shoulder so I might as well go with a small backpack, feels more secure too. More bag companies should make 15L and lightweight bags, there is no need for 20L bags to be 2lbs or 1kg heavy. Just a random rant lol.

      @@Youknowthebo Many hotels now REQUIRE daily housekeeping, even if you put the sign out. I had the hotel manager come directly to my door and knock (with DND sign on the handle) with two other persons behind her, and said they had to "inspect the room", because I didn't allow housekeeping in for 2 days. In the states, this is even stricter, because (hotel in NYC), they wanted to be sure there wasn't any illegal weapons, drugs or child trafficking happening in the hotel room. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Agree with most of the items mentioned Bo, great video as always! For me, an essential for me that hasn't been mentioned is a secondary phone. It acts as a backup for my phone in case something goes wrong with my main phone while I'm traveling (happened to me multiple times).
    Also another essential is a good pair of earphone, for watching movie in the plane and to keep myself entertained. I used to rely on bluetooth wireless earphones, but nowadays I'm going back to wired earphones simply because it's one less item to charge every night.
    Also a multi port charger, preferably that is small but powerful enough to charge a laptop and a couple of other device is another must for me, I use the Ugreen 100 Watt GaN charger with 4 ports to charge my laptop, my phone and my secondary phone, and my camera with just a single charger. I want to "downgrade" to something even smaller and lighter but can still charge a laptop and a few other device, but for now the 100 Watt charger still does a wonderful job for travel.

      It is actually because the older german passport (with hardcover) was bigger than the new one they started giving out a couple of years ago. The new one fits but Bellroy hasn’t changed that on their website.

So let me get this straight, you have travel passport wallet, a day wallet, and decoy wallet with cash in it incase you get mugged right? I'm doing same loadout except I'll probably keep a backup wallet in my travel pack (1 credit card/1 debit card/some cash). Also probably carrying a second shitty iphone as a back up too. Loved the vid, def modifying my packing list now.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  Год назад +1

      Memo bottles I kind of the apple of waterbottles 😂 you were probably looking at the stainless steel versions. The plastic versions are cheaper. Still more expensive than regular round bottles. But to be fair they are worth the price Imho. They are much less likely to spill compared to cheaper gym bottles for instance (although I wouldn't use this for the gym because the lid is taking much longer to open and close). And more importantly the slim, flat and squarish form factor makes it much easier to pack inside your work back with all of your work items. Especially inside a briefcase or messenger for instance. I prefer packing my bottle inside opposed to outside the bag. This formfactor won't occupy too much space.

    No way ever would I leave my passport or other important documents unsecured in a hotel room, even if hidden. I take it with me or lock it in my luggage.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  Год назад

      I get that. But there can be situations in which you might not want to carry your passport (eg. Going for drinks or party).
      Also leaving your passport in your luggage in your hotel room also has the risk of someone just stealing your luggage. As mentioned, the probability of a theft being just "breaking into a room and then grabbing the next best thing" is quite high opposed to a thief actually searching around the room to find valuables. Therefore I expect a thief to probably just grab the bag if nothing of value is laying around (like a laptop for instance). But that's just what I am thinking and might not be the case.
      Again: I totally get what you are saying and I don't always feel comfortable leaving my passport in a hotel room. But I had more than one occasion in which I just could not bring my passport or the risk of loosing it was just to high.
