I used to be a tour guide up there. The abandoned camp is in silvergull Creek. The couple that live there were wonderful who we used to go visit every trip, the would make a sell jewellery and other bits and bobs and also allow the guest for a swim in that pool. Absolutely beautiful place of the world. There's some amazing aboriginal art at raft point and also a wonderful view of the archipelago when your up there.
About 15 years ago we followed a croc slide up croc creek that went over the boulders and through the long grass into the furthest water hole .We knew it was still up there because there was no slide out and the grass had been pushed down 2 feet wide towards upstream. So remember that for next time that they can get up into those holes as well.
I used to manage a game farm in South Africa and one morning we found a crock in one of our waterholes which was 15 km from the nearest river where crocks were found. It must have climbed a 9 meter electrified game fence and travelled through the bush to get to the waterhole on its way to the Jozini dam in Northern Natal. They are amazing animals and very clever.
@@joeymyopic Joey they don't jump the fence they just climb over it or push under it. A 9000 volt electric fence doesn't seem to phase them as our fences are there to stop buffalo, elephant and lion from getting out. We have 4 strands on the fence and 1 strand forward of the fence at about a foot of the ground in front of the fence and they just move over or under the wires. If it shocks you it will leave a lasting impression that's for sure, ask me how I know.
I’m absolutely loving this series. I likewise grew up watching Malcolm Douglas. It might already be on the cards, but I’m hoping you do a bit of an after trip video and talk about the logistics. Be interesting to hear how you cooked, how much fresh water you took, what sorts of food you took, what went well and what didn’t, what you’d take next time, and how 6 people in 2 tinnies made do without a loo etc. Thanks for sharing your adventure
Great video, I love that you all think that the way you climbed up to the top pool meant that saltys wouldn't be there LOL. 🙈🙈.That spa was amazing, but the oyster faces were epic! Thanks for sharing the video, a ripper. Stay safe, have fun, enjoy life! 👌🍻👍
Mate this is unreal content and you seem like a ripper bloke. Seams like you got a sick group of mates too. I wish I had a group of mates that would be up for trips like this. I'm just stuck in Perth waiting for the day to get out of the 9 to 5. Look forward to your future content 🤙 your channel will blow up soon. Just keep uploading consistently.
Thank you mate, I’m lucky that this is my family. I hope you find your people soon mate, sometimes just going travelling on your own can be the best thing as well! Videos will be weekly from now on, thank you for the kind words 😁

Wow! The people we bought the boat off had some funny stories about the old couple as well.
Watch the next ep we check out that art work, incredible.

@Andy-Gibb 30 foot fence would be an amazing climb for a croc. It must have found a feeder creek from the river
9 m fence? I doubt the most agile animal could jump 4 m

I didn’t know they could climb 😬
Thank you for watching stoked you enjoyed the video.
I worked on Koolan island for many years and on a high tide you can drive a boat into the pool , so always a chance of a crock
Bigger is not always better…🤔
Amazing tidal currents and there is a crock always 👀 lurking somewhere up there . Stay frosty!
And safe!
this is the greatest drone footage since the edmund hillary expedition
Love your beautiful country, looks so beautiful and pristine
epic thumbnail lured me in! spectacular bit of coastline
Yeah I think it’s my best thumb nail yet 😂
Great vid, it’s like a Malcom Douglas highlight reel, which is a good thing 👍🏻
Thank you mate
Great vid
There is an old Malcolm Douglass vid on RUclips where he is swimming in that tank with the couple who used to live there 👌 great vid thanks !
There is! Malcom was the one who inspired me to do this trip many years ago!
What a great episode ❤
Thank you 🙏🏽

That Giant oyster eating attempt was fing hilarious
Slim and Soph on Sailing Nakama were here recently. Their Westcoast of Australia series is epic. Check them out.
I fry those oysters, sometimes crumbed first. Any sort of sauce is good. Good bait too.
That’s great manoeuvring to get those two
Cats in that little pool .
I was extremely impressed too
Incredible place
Where is this exactly?
Nearly 15m tides from where I’m from but the water don’t look like that! 😂. Brown water with mud! ⚓️🦈⚓️🦈

Get your dad to check the mole on the back of his right shoulder cheers
LOL! Now we know who spits and who swallows! Oysters aren't the only thing I've seen to cause gag reflex like that! 🤣
Need to carry some hot pepper sauce and lemon juice for those oysters.

You can go to the US Virgin Islands, which is in the Caribbean, and you don't need a passport since it's a US territory.
Those tides are mental
