In the PS2 era, the PS2 was marketed as a DVD player as well so it was a boom because it could do both things and people were looking for DVDs. The Switch numbers are impressive considering it is a dedicated gaming system and nowadays that we have so many options and PC Gaming , the Switch is a massive success, now with the Switch 2 hype the sales are lowering with the expectation but that's normal for an 8 year console, no other way this generation lasted that long unless it was selling that well. They are are playing it safe and don't want to change the formula much, but still refresh it and evolve it with better specs and even mouse function, and retro-compatibility making Switch 2 a potential beast candidate for an outstanding catalogue, hoping it will be the definitive gaming console for many people ☺
Personally, I've already signed up for the Switch 2 pre-order alerts on multiple different retailers' websites so that I have the best odds of getting one, as I sadly see it selling out real fast :D
