LOL!! A Gulp challenge, I smash em one after another with Gulp. Honestly, catch em one after another with worms too, just Gulp is easier to take care of!
I get greens, chubs, and gills on them. Small suckers too. Your streams are a bit different than ours. Lots of times if you just use a small split shot with a #6 hook on the bottom they get it good if they don't hit it on float.
ruclips.net/video/CAeOBcDdkNQ/видео.html if you don't want this link on just delete it, I know some are strict with the comments. But this is an older vid of Gulp at work in one of my local streams. Sorry my vids sucked when I started lol
Hey Spencer I took the kid I work with fishing last night and he caught a ten pound channel cat which you might not find impressive but that is good for around here. He was using your double hook rig which I taught him. It was caught on shad which is only available in bait shops .
I love your tiny river videos. I fish lots of small water with big character (log jams ect.). It takes the willingness to try fishing such areas or proof of giants existence. Trend setter man. Iowa truly is the “show me state”
I use very small pieces of slim jim on a #12 hook with a couple split shot. As soon as it hits the water the chubs, sunnies and gills smash it. Cost 1.49 for a slimjim and I can catch 30+ fish on one easily. Way cheaper than using worms or powerbait. Try it
Hi Spencer. I carry gulp minows in my tackle bag. I use the 2 and 3 inches one in the summer. i catch all kinds of fish. I cant always get live bait. Which i prefer. But those gulp minows work for me. love them!
The only Gulp Alive that I have found pulls its weight is the minnows. I have fished them side by side with real minnows for walleye and they tied. The Gulp Alive pinched crawlers didn't work at all.
I know I'm like years late lol but the 1" minnows on a 1/64-1/32 jig on a good day will slay some bluegills and is my go to for bait cause worms don't last week's in a hot jeep..... 2lb test and a hole full of gills and you can fill up fast.... I've also caught channel cats, bullheads, bass, crappie, carp, suckers, white bass, and even a turtle on them
I heard people using corn soaked in Kokanee killer korn dye, a piece of corn on the hook after soaking it in the dye for 30 minutes. Supposed to be a good bait for bluegill.
Interesting, Science from a Science Teacher. Good job, nice to see how you catch live bait. I'll have to give that a try. I hope you were joking when you said NightCrawlers those things were tiny and shrimpy. Need some real ones. Another great old video that answers my questions. Spenser you really cover all the bases.
Spencer, I have a great place to get bait bluegill and sunfish... line hits the water, bobber never comes up. I'd be happy to hook a brother up. Its close to Dsm and right off I-80.
Man I don’t know how many times I’m out and find a good spot to fish driving down the road. Then have to drive home and grab some worms out of the bucket and head back out. Going to grab some gulp just to have to save some fuel which is needed to do these days.
River Certified as do I. I keep a thing of those fake crawlers in my truck. Now I’m not going to say they are better then live crawlers like they’ll claim but, I will say they do catch fish.
I've tried those and they have worked about as well as the gulp maggots. I'm gonna keep trying different stuff. Crappie nibbles are next on the list to try.
idk if its the beach i goto but i used worms fake maggots fake squid and i didnt catch any fish im going to try to go to new beach and fish im new but give sometips ty
LOL!! A Gulp challenge, I smash em one after another with Gulp. Honestly, catch em one after another with worms too, just Gulp is easier to take care of!
You're the one who got me to order 'em. I definitely think they will be killer for green sunfish!

A 10 lb channel is one hell of a channel. That's awesome man. Hope you keep getting on the water and having fun!
I love your tiny river videos. I fish lots of small water with big character (log jams ect.). It takes the willingness to try fishing such areas or proof of giants existence. Trend setter man. Iowa truly is the “show me state”
Honestly man, I like to explore and catch fish in new places. Going somewhere new and finding a big fish is the most rewarding feeling there is.
I use very small pieces of slim jim on a #12 hook with a couple split shot. As soon as it hits the water the chubs, sunnies and gills smash it. Cost 1.49 for a slimjim and I can catch 30+ fish on one easily. Way cheaper than using worms or powerbait. Try it
vince toth I'm definitely going to! Thanks for the tip and Thanks for watching!
Omg I haven’t fished there since I used to camp there deer hunting opening weekends !
You camped under a bridge?
Ogres camp under bridges it’s what we do !!! Plus it don’t rain under there
Hi Spencer. I carry gulp minows in my tackle bag. I use the 2 and 3 inches one in the summer. i catch all kinds of fish. I cant always get live bait. Which i prefer. But those gulp minows work for me. love them!
They definitely work. I use them for walleyes sometimes. Thanks for watching!

I'll definitely remember that one! Thanks man!

@@uriahtatman2407 You're never too late for good fishing tips
Try using raw bacon fat stays on the hook a lot better then worms and works a lot better then gulp
Cool idea. The problem is trying not to eat the bacon. Thanks for watching!
Always a pleasure to be educated by the educator💪💯
I heard people using corn soaked in Kokanee killer korn dye, a piece of corn on the hook after soaking it in the dye for 30 minutes. Supposed to be a good bait for bluegill.
I appreciate the tips man!
41 cent can of sweet corn from Wal-Mart straight from the can works
Great one Spencer!
Scotty Hill aka Catfishnfreak thanks Scotty!
Gulp are deadly for Wrasse in the UK. Great video.
Sure would be cool to fish over there. Thank you for watching!
I wish i could go back to the UK and go fish , i loved the UK
Another good video. Makes it interesting like your watching a sporting event and rooting for either worms or Gulp, lol.
The berkly gulp looks tempting to buy
Are creek chubs good eaters?

I try my best to. This was definitely a fun one to edit. Thanks for watching!
Ive had lot of luck for sunfish in small ponds and stuff with gulp night crawlers when uts super hot out
With sunfish I sometimes wonder if it even matters. They're like little freaking piranhas!
@@RiverCertified true given the right time of day and time of year they will litterally eat anything that wont eat them
i catch plenty of pan fish on the gulp maggots
Jessie Sineath no doubt they work, the real stuff just worked better on this day. Appreciate you watching Jessie!
I use extra spearmint gum... I chew it and then put a little piece on the hook.
Thats pretty cool really. Thanks far sharing that.
You should do a live grasshopper vs worm video sometime just for fun
What is the name of that fish you caught?
Creek chubs
Hard to beat crawlers but gulp is handy when bait is hard to keep alive.
Do you have a baiting holding tank or do you use the cooler? Is it just set up with an aerator?
Yep. I'm gonna make a video on it next week.
River Certified awesome looking forward to it.
Spencer, I have a great place to get bait bluegill and sunfish... line hits the water, bobber never comes up. I'd be happy to hook a brother up. Its close to Dsm and right off I-80.
tiny hook and about a quarter inch of crawler... bring a light rod and prepare for fun.
Thanks for the message man! I really appreciate you watching!
But gulp is easy to have bait at any time. May be great in a survival bag also
Good point man
You know what I bet would work the best? The REAL maggots in my worm bin.
Haha I bet you're right, but I'm not doing that challenge!
Seriously, damn soldier flies, can’t keep em out. I scoop and throw em to my chickens
Man I don’t know how many times I’m out and find a good spot to fish driving down the road. Then have to drive home and grab some worms out of the bucket and head back out. Going to grab some gulp just to have to save some fuel which is needed to do these days.
How do you have an idea for a video and poorly execute the contest by not bringing 2 identical rigs?
when theyre biting, make no difference what you use. when they aren't makes no difference what you use.
That is deep
Ima gonna try this next time I take the 3yo fishing.
That should be fun. I've never thought about doing something like this with kids. I'm gonna have to try it with my nephews!
Do a video of your tank
It will be out in the next week or so!
You need a lid and bubbler on your bucket.
Thanks for the tip man, I appreciate you watching!
Otherwise they jump out.
Those gulp night crawlers may do better. Looks like a turd
Cat Daddy Fishin I'm sure I will try them one if these days. I'm always trying something different.
River Certified as do I. I keep a thing of those fake crawlers in my truck. Now I’m not going to say they are better then live crawlers like they’ll claim but, I will say they do catch fish.
We call them snicker bars for big predator FISH...lol
Gulp earthworm, red wigglers
I've tried those and they have worked about as well as the gulp maggots. I'm gonna keep trying different stuff. Crappie nibbles are next on the list to try.
I’ve caught bluegill with Berkeley crappie nibbles, however, never a crappie.... odd
R they easy to keep alive??
Tom Keeton the gulp aren't alive.
River Certified sorry i was talking about the creek chubs
Chunk of worm, then tip it with gulp maggots, deadly!!!
I'm counting lost one it still bit
Didn't care for gulp worms are better two to one lol
Ron Self agreed. It's at least 2 to 1. Thanks for watching!
Use a bait that looks and smells like a worm? Or use a bait that looks and smells like itself. Gulp will always be a backup.
Drew Hackett nicely put sir.
Exactly, I keep a bottle of gulp maggots as back up, but they don't hold a candle to a pack of red worms.
True, I have some gulp earthworms as backup when everything else fails
🐟 on
Yes sir!
idk if its the beach i goto but i used worms fake maggots fake squid and i didnt catch any fish im going to try to go to new beach and fish im new but give sometips ty
> in front...
Use two rod
Gulp is my panfish go to......
It will definitely get the job done. I will always have a jar in my truck. Thanks for watching!
River Certified I think the gulp gets better as water warms up more.
Catfish Capone good point. I'll have to test that in a month or so.
5:18 haha
Glad you appreciated that one haha
Gulp SUCKS in ANY bait they make.
Pit Dawg I have had good success with the gulp minnows for walleyes and wipers. Beyond that, not much for me either.
Gulp 1” minnows........2.5” / 3” minnows.........UN BELIEVABLE - EFFECTIVENESS!!
Gulp crickets are pretty damn good, too!!
