Fishing With Berkley Gulp 1" Minnows For Whatever Bites!

  • I took out the kayak for about an hour and a half to chase anything that bites on the ultralight! I rigged up a 1/64oz Fire Red Mule Jig with a little 1-inch Berkley Gulp Minnow. This multispecies mission was super fun and definitely a success. Landed some of the biggest sunfish out of this lake that I have yet.
    Needless to say, I am now a believer in the Gulp Minnows! I will continue to play around with them on my ultralight to see if they keep producing for me. Stay tuned :D

    Mule jig and 1” berkley minnow is one of my main baits. Caught lots of bluegill, crappie, and bass with them down here in KY.

    Quote of the day: "I would not want to fight that duck." In other news, the only 1" Gulp Minnows I can find are labelled Ice Minnows. Is that what you're using? That looks just about the size I'm missing for trout and panfish. That was another fun video visit, so thanks again.

    • @FishAnything

      Haha thanks Jim! Mine are not labeled Ice Minnows so I’m not sure what those are! That said, when I look online, they look virtually identical 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Man, tbat 1" Berkley Gulp Minnow and the 1/64 oz Mule Jig are a match made in heaven. Yoi crushed it with the multi-species panfish. I bet this combo would work well for ice fishing too. These Berkley baits are nice because they transport nice in the jar and they don't go bad on you like worms or maggots. Embrace the 🐟 💩 Ethan. It is a sign of good fishing 🎣 luck to come 🤣

    @wildcatindustries8030 2 года назад +1

    Caught 2 3lb trout and one 3.5lb trout on these with a crappie magnet 1/32oz jig head while fishing for sunfish, broke the hook on two different occasions and bent the 3rd one completely backwards but still landed all three, it’s hard not to catch anything even on the 1in gulp. My new trout setup is some 1/16oz heavy gauge jigs with the 3in gulp and it works some wonders. Definitely worth the money

    I haven't tried the minnows of that size but I've caused a bluegill fishing frenzy with the larger 2.5"" minnows. Up until May 2020 I had no idea Bluegill could swallow 2.5" minnows! If I catch more fish with the larger size minnows I'll be sure to repost on this page. FISH ON!!!

    • @FishAnything

  • @noobpyrotech9991

    Do you throw out the minnows when you are done or back in the jar with the jig head still on? I put the minnow on the jig head in a airtight container and it shrunk down, hardened, and almost fused to the jig. They are a bit delicate.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  3 года назад +1

      I never leave them on the jig when I put it away because of how they dry out. Usually just fish them til they rip and call it a day lol

    Berkley gulp should be illegal lol. I love them. Another bait to try though is the Nikko straight tailed pinworm. They work nearly as good as the gulps, at least for me. And they last forever. Just another idea in a sea of ideas lol. And I am sure you have been asked a million billion times but what about pedal drive for the kayak? The hooks on the jerkbait got me thinking what if you got a hook in your hand and can't get it out? Very hard to paddle like that. I've had a hook to the finger and no way I could paddled if I had been in a kayak.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  4 года назад

      1) Gulp is awesome 2) those baits also look awesome 3) pedal drive is supposed to come this summer however it will likely be delayed 4) don't you dare jinx me like that! hahaha
      Seriously thanks for the suggestions - very good points.
