I think the comments spur from why not design this for a mass produced truck that's already on the road? It would be a much better business model to make a product their is actually demand for. These trucks don't even exist, they haven't for two years now and they're not going to, especially with Tesla stocks down over 53% in the past 10 months. Not gonna happen. Tesla has already said to expect "maybe a few Cybertruck deliveries in 2023" which doesn't sound likely. Great idea, just kinda missed the market.
@@abingham3747 I can understand people being pissed about the delay, but really? "Not gonna happen"? I can just see Tesla spending billions on a 9,000 ton press, and hiring hundreds of people for a fictitious truck.

No, they’re just using it to sell their cars. I remember thinking of putting a tent on top of my roof on top of the bars, because I was living out of my car and I was sleeping in a two door coupe, 2001 Toyota Celica GTS. And that was around 2017 I wanna say I worked at Amazon in Tracy at two different locations I can’t remember when I first thought of it. I think it was around 2017. Anyways, I ended up seeing this roof tent like nine months ago being sold in different styles, hard shell like a 45° angle one, a box one, one that extends, I saw a new designed van with a pop-up roof and I thought oh wow they took the idea of the roof tent and they built it into the design of the van. And now the cyber truck has this. I honestly thought of the roof tent for homeless people no one would ever put a tent on top of the roof unless they were crazy or homeless because my thoughts “that’s the only real estate that I own” I can only build up on top of my car which I own. And so for someone to put a camping tent on top of the car as an addition to going camping with their family just sounds crazy because no one would ever think of that because that’s out-of-the-box thinking oh and necessity is the mother of invention, and that proves it came from necessity . You know and I’ve tried to hold onto that type of thinking ever since I was a kid.
This looks incredible. Would love to see this kind of design quality available for trucks that are already on the road and a bit more affordable. Design and engineering team did some incredible work here
This is cool.and very versatile. I wouldn't camp like this because I have a big family and we prefer a Class A, but for the individual or even adventurous couple it sure could make sense!

We're going for gold Jay! We expect there to be a copycat for half the price that's 1/10th the quality. That may be the better for some people. Thanks for the kind words and real talk!
This one actually makes sense and is simple. The other cyber truck camper I saw that expands in two different directions would be a nightmare to engineer and all those joints are just places for leaks and problems. This looks good.
The one that expands with powered actions? The CGI looked great, but there was no way it was ever going to be built. It smelled like a con job to me. This one will not look *exactly* like this video, but can get close, if they don't try to skimp on construction. At $24,000, I fear it might not be *that* good.
This set up is so sick, or as my teenage daughter would say, it’s slay! Look forward to seeing these on cyber trucks, and hopefully whenever my reservation number goes into production, I’ll upfit mine too.
It would be better (1) may be extend out from the back by 1-1.5 feet so as to utilize the lowered truck bed door, (2) the tent is squarely pop up rather only rise on the back.(3) a provision for an opening on the tent's bed to allow easy access to the cabin compartment of CT through the moon roof. (4) the pop up tent can be remotely open and close from CT's cabin.
This is an amazing design and idea, but the shown design will be very different from what actually gets made. All those things need to be stored somewhere, and that takes up space. Or you're getting things from your back seats. This is just a concept so far, but I hope to see the result.
The font is a tribute to the DeLorean, the inspiration for this beautiful truck. We like it, but understand it's not for everyone and that's why we'll have the logo delete option. Thanks for checking it out!
This is exactly what I wanted for my Cybertruck! My only request is you make an option for hard sides instead of tent sides. I go in high wind areas and the noise for sleeping is bothersome. I do think I saw an option for blowup insulated sides that might work. Great design! Also, it takes away from that ‘not so nice’ triangle look of the Cybertruck.
Hey Jay! Thanks for the kind sentiment! We spent a lot of time thinking about how we could have a hard wall option for this, but unfortunatly it would have comprimised the design in too many ways. We'd have to do a more standard pop top that would leave the rear hatch in place (instead of moving up with the lid and opening up the enitire back) so you'd have to crawl into your camper before standing up. Considering this, and a handfull of other things, we ultimately made the decision to commit to the canvas tent.. "Stealth mode" is our proposed solution to camping when the weather is paticularly severe, but it may not work for you if you plan to do predominatly high-wind camping. We have also seen that inflateable tents are becoming more popular and plan to integrate one down the road. Our current design lets you to quickly zip out the tent and swap for another. This allows for easly replaceing damaged tents, or swapping them for different seasons/weather. Plus, with on demand air in the Cybertruck, inflating and deflating will be a breeze! This may be a good solution for your use case! Our protoype is nearly done and we'll be showing it off next week and you'll be able to see how the tent can be replaced. @@collegepros Keeping your truck functional as a truck a main priority. You may as well just get a van if you compromise that! That's another reason were excited about the easily removable tent. Did you not watch this video? You can add solar panels onto the top of this camper. And trust me, adding solar panels would provide you with a much stronger charge than any built into the Cybertruck
Hey @CarsonGalloCarsonJGallo. Thanks the props on the design! That would be definitely be something to consider. @@sethwatson5797 Our estimates (based on an aerodynamic analysis and the added weight) suggest a 6% - 10% reduction in range. This will depend highly on the use case. Someone driving at 70+ MPH for long durations would be on the high end of this. This can be offset with 400W solar on the roof (as long as Tesla allows for solar charging as they've said will likely be a thing with Cybertruck). We consider this to be fairly minimal if you compare it to towing a trailer. Check out this report from Car and Driver on the other electric trucks on the market. Some suffer up to 70 range reduction..... www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a40896618/ev-pickups-towing-test-hummer-rivian-lightning/
Hi Electric-Rideable. Thanks for the comment! We are doing everything we can to get to production as soon as possible. That said, it will take us about 4 months to produce our first production model after we get all the final details on the truck. So no, not once Cybertruck releases, but we'll realistically be hitting our stride around the same time Tesla is producing the Truck in volume based on their previous ramp ups. The base price of our camper is $24,000. Thanks for checking it out!
Yes, we'll need some more details before we go into full production. Currently working on a full-scale prototype with the info we have. Due date late March. Once final dims are in, we'll make the tweaks and get rolling.
2 questions: 1) Does it damage the plastic where it sits on the bed of the Cybertruck? 2) I read that it attaches with clamps to the bed. Does it not utilize the OEM roof rack mounting points? If it doesn't how do you prevent it from sliding or shifting slightly?
Hi Dr. Vincent, 1) While we don't have long term testing on this yet, based on the design there should not be any damage to the plastic. There will be a rubber seal between the camper and the truck to protect from damage. 2) It's possible that you read an older article. This is what we were planning before Tesla announced they'd added mounting locations for products like ours. We will be using the 8 designated mounting locations for a secure hold. Thanks. Let us know if you have any other questions!
As long as this thing comes with a good warranty and is made of quality outdoor tested and rated materials I can justify the price. hopefully can last a lifetime.
Yeah that's great. Put Fred back there with Dino and the milk bottle. "Wilma!" Mama stays in the control pod with the box boy, temp control and radio.. Try this instead: MAKE THE REAR SEAT FOLD DOWN.
In the most recent cyber truck the ramp is not touching the floor and size seems to be much smaller which makes me very doubtful about my impulsive order the same day Cybertruck was announced.
An idea. Could you add the LED top bar light that was initially shown with the Cybertruck concept art. I see a good space for it from your visuals at 2:30
Hey Luis. Are you refering to the one that was embedded in the truck in the Alpha prototype that it seems that Telsa may have decided to take out? Or are you speaking of something that could mount to the roof? To inlay one in the composites of the camper would be pretty tricky considering the tight space and the fact that section acts as a strut between the two sides of the lid. We wouldn't want to compromise the structure there. However, if you mean adding lightbars to the roof, the sky is the limit. The camper design includes routing pathways up to the L-track on the roof so that a handy person could add whatever lights they like and run the supporting power without the need to drill any holes. We'll have our own light bar kits at some point, but it's a phase 2 of our project.
Most of the accessories would be inaccessible in stealth mode. You could pull your cooktops down and still use those. You could also access water through the shower feature when the lid is closed. Stealth mode is meant to be a place to crash out when your in need, or of the weather gets too severe to have the roof and tent deployed.

Nicely done
Wow, this Cyber Truck Camper Kit is l i t! How much are they and will they be ready for production when the Cybertruck releases?
Hi Electric-Rideable. Thanks for the comment! We are doing everything we can to get to production as soon as possible. That said, it will take us about 4 months to produce our first production model after we get all the final details on the truck. So no, not once Cybertruck releases, but we'll realistically be hitting our stride around the same time Tesla is producing the Truck in volume based on their previous ramp ups. The base price of our camper is $24,000. Thanks for checking it out!
Nice but don’t you need to know the exact production model dimensions of CT and all attachment points before you go into production?
Yes, we'll need some more details before we go into full production. Currently working on a full-scale prototype with the info we have. Due date late March. Once final dims are in, we'll make the tweaks and get rolling.
Why worry about minor details like that when he can scam money with a render?
Great idea if it’s not windy.
2 questions:
1) Does it damage the plastic where it sits on the bed of the Cybertruck?
2) I read that it attaches with clamps to the bed. Does it not utilize the OEM roof rack mounting points? If it doesn't how do you prevent it from sliding or shifting slightly?
Hi Dr. Vincent,
1) While we don't have long term testing on this yet, based on the design there should not be any damage to the plastic.
@@spacecampers7963 thanks!
This is AMAZING !
Can’t wait 😍
As long as this thing comes with a good warranty and is made of quality outdoor tested and rated materials I can justify the price. hopefully can last a lifetime.
Agreed, we're looking forward to living up to our promises
Yeah that's great. Put Fred back there with Dino and the milk bottle. "Wilma!"
Mama stays in the control pod with the box boy, temp control and radio.. Try this instead: MAKE THE REAR SEAT FOLD DOWN.
In the most recent cyber truck the ramp is not touching the floor and size seems to be much smaller which makes me very doubtful about my impulsive order the same day Cybertruck was announced.
These are gonna be cool!
this sounds awesome
Would be good to get it here in Thailand
how to battle moisture? My model 3 trunk is awful.
wind when cooking?
Incredible.
So cool!!!
Looks cool, hope it goes well for you & your team. Just need Elon to get his rear in gear to make the truck.
This is a DREAMMMMMM
Hmm yes, very futuristic.
I have a similar thing on my Mazda Bongo from the 80s
Love it!❤❤❤
Great design. I want one. The only problem is the price. I would pay $8-12k for a base model without and cooking capabilities or solar panels.
Noted, thanks for sharing!
Can you stealth camp with all of those accessories added on?
Most of the accessories would be inaccessible in stealth mode. You could pull your cooktops down and still use those. You could also access water through the shower feature when the lid is closed. Stealth mode is meant to be a place to crash out when your in need, or of the weather gets too severe to have the roof and tent deployed.
Solar panels is a must !
So amazing
This is just a dream project right?
No. The prototype is being built now.
@@spacecampers79631 year later, and still nothing but renders.
@@TroySavary Been working hard Troy. We posted a video of the prototype several months back if you'd like to check it out. ruclips.net/video/ETBg2QODpO0/видео.html
@@spacecampers7963 Forgive me for being skeptical with all the people taking deposits for none existent products in the EV and EV accessory space.
@@spacecampers7963 Watched video. Actually pretty impressive for not having an actual truck to build it on.
Have any of these been sold yet? I'd love to see the real thing.
Hey @vertstang123! Our presale is open and we've built a prototype of our camper which you're welcome to check out on our channel. Right now our design is finalized and we're just waiting on the last of the capital we need to move into tooling.
Very cool!
the Cybertruck will be the most popular and affordable survival truck in the coming Apocalypse
Very cool! How can I invest in your company early on?
Hey, @juniortrader you can get ahold of us to answer any questions at support@spacecampers.com . Thanks!
