Thanks for the comment - we're also working on a truck cap that will have a more approachable price tag and be strong enough to attach any aftermarket rooftop tent. It's a way down the road, but we'll have a racking system for uninstalling both our camper and truck cap for at-home storage. More to come!

Hey @MasterOfTheUniversePSD! We're overdue for an update. Right now our truck cap and wedge camper have both been redesigned to final Cybertruck dimensions and we have everything we need to get into tooling except final funding. The press treated Tesla pretty unfairly this past year in our opinion and we're still working on raising the last of the capital we need to keep moving forward. We're pushing hard to have a better update for everyone soon.

Hi Dr. Vincent, 1) While we don't have long term testing on this yet, based on the design there should not be any damage to the plastic. There will be a rubber seal between the camper and the truck to protect from damage. 2) It's possible that you read an older article. This is what we were planning before Tesla announced they'd added mounting locations for products like ours. We will be using the 8 designated mounting locations for a secure hold. Thanks. Designs for our truck cap and camper are finished and ready to bring into tooling but we're still working to raise the last of the investment we need for production. RTM composite tooling is expensive, but very worth the investment in terms of product gains. We're hoping for a break here soon so we can get everyone a better timeline

Hey MrTeslaX. The 'space camper' or our pop up 'wedge camper' is also in progress. This is a more simplified version of a basic truck cap we'll also be making. Designs have been finalized and we're ready to move into the tooling phase very soon. The 'slower than expected' ramp up from Tesla combined with the recall has made some of our investors weary, and the last bit of funding has been held up our forward progress a bit.

@@spacecampers7963 I am looking for avery basic canopy for cubertruck with roof rack on the top of it so that I can install rooftop camper on it. This give lots of space under the canopy once the vault is open.

Thanks Skip! All of the molds for the protype were built on a giant piece of glass that was removed from the Space Needle's viewing deck. It made for an excellent flat surface that we could put all the pieces together on.

Hey Jay. Our engineers took a second to consider this and they think this will be achievable with the current design. The best way would be to use one of these third party Bluetooth camera/mirror combos, and mount the camera on the interior of the cap on the top surface so that the camera looked through the rear hatch glass. This way it would be safe and keep clear of any dirt/debris on the camera lens. How does that sound?

@@collegepros We're including routing pathways throughout the design to accommodate customization in a clean manner. There will also be an option to add a 12v power inverter (from the 110V provided) so running traditional aftermarket accessories will be straightforward. Tesla has put there focus on building an incredible foundation, and left some of these improvements for others to sort out. We're happy to support this vehicle!

We're planning for that - jury's still out on if the truck's battery will be compatible with solar charging, but regardless we'll be using solar to help offset the draw from lights and accessories.

To be fair, there are only a few thousand on the road but there are millions of order reservations placed! I have seen 2 so far and one was sporting a black wrap! In a few years this vehicle will be common place and the bugs should be worked out! I absolutely hated the way it looked (in photos) until i saw the black Cyber Truck! I plan to buy one as soon as they work out the bugs and drop the price to ~$45k

Hey @brodynastasia789! We've actually incorporated tunnels that allow tailgate button access so you won't have to open the tailgate from your phone or inside the truck

@sounderxile3947 The production model will have an option for a stand alone-heat pump (AC and heater) by Ecoflow. There are inlet/exhaust ports built into the camper. We're keeping things modular so you can remove items individually when you don't need them.
