- SOOOO.... Wow!!! never thought the results would come out like this. I attempted to paint a car for the first time and i'm just not sure about the results. There's a lot that goes into painting so i have to take my hat off to those in the game. Cant rush perfection and now i can definitely see the difference and why painting cost so much for us auto guys.
Please make sure to leave some feedback on what you would have done or used for this project. Super appreciate the view, but please subscribe if your reading this.
Cant wait for the next project to see if i can just get that much better.
God bless and be safe!!!!

The first thing you did right was to have the balls to even do it, great job!
Thanks for watching. I feel everything in life is a do it yourself. Just have to be willing to take a chance.
@@rollcam321Hey man, looks great. What compressor did you use and what size gallon was it? Im going to paint my car and looking to see which compressor is sufficient.
Damn, we need to work on a project💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I’m always down
Came out good you never know till you try I would have used 180 to get the chips and deep scratches out spot primer then block with 320 and wet sand 600 grit by hand wash and paint
I have to learn about that wet sand, but yes spot on….
I should have used a higher grit to get it all smooth. Thanks for watching
You did good bro that car looks great I was questioning on if I should paint my car myself but because of your video I'm going ahead and doing it
Awesome, let nothing hold you back. It’s always trials but that’s how we learn. 💪🏾
What compressor and paint gun did you use?
Whats important is that you start. You can only get better feom there .. look into k2 primer . The hood you could of bring it down and feather off with 220 or 180 to get it done faster , feel with your hands for bumps and then clean it off with 320 and primer off with thick coats to cover the scratches and block it with 320 and finish with 400 for base . At least this is a start you can look at videos on the tube to guide you for . And one last thing you can never be too clean .. 80 % is prepping and cleaning 20 % painting
You did wrong on prepare; that old paint should be taken away with P320 to primer or P240 to bare metal, then primered, sanded with P400 (step 1) and P600 (step 2), and then painted. And sand all the surface, don't stop close to edge; take a manual sanding paper or scotch brite there, don't spray new paint over shiny old one; will not make contact, will last only some months/years. You did ok on painting. Car should be completly masked with paper or plastic, while spraying.
I recommend "the gunman" for knowledge.
love the feedback, and yes the word primer has become new to my vocabulary …. But i think ill leave it to the professionals, im just trying to learn anything i can. Again thanks for the feedback, know i know a little about sandpaper because i only used one grade on this car.
Hey man keep at it don’t get discouraged you will see a huge improvement on your next one, hit me up on Instagram if you have questions, I’d be glad to help. @88_LSX
Every custom shop I go to is telling me body and paint is a dying trade. It's giving so rare the prices and the wait time is outrageous. This is something people are going to have to learn to do themselves.
Did a great job buddy keep up the good work
Thank you brother. Appreciate you checking the video out
It’s not good but hey atleast you tried, you learn with time
And by not good I mean is that when you look at it , at an angle u can see the scratch marks before u didn’t sand it properly and didn’t prep the whole thing well. It looks like as if u just spray painted it over the old paint
Yes for sure, I was happy with it looking better…. But not too bad for my first time. There’s a process to everything, and painting over scratches taught me that there’s a lot more prep work needed.
Not bad for the first time) next time apply primer first sand 800, than base coat when it dries clean it with microfiber- clear coat 20-22 psi
I’m clearing out some space to start back into it. Can’t wait. Will add another video soon.
Great pre on the car before paint
Thank you, it was great practice. Loved the results.
Please subscribe
From my 1st take .And im a novice who has only been primmed, because of the Texas weather! Had you you chose some 320 sand then bk up to 600 to remove scratches & those imperfections on the hood . And choose a decent primmer you didn't need much . I dont see runs so i believe your technique is up to par .You think your impressed now .Wait till your next paint job . Good job and keep the material coming 😎👌
Thanks so much man. Much love and yes I’ll post another video soon.
With all my respect you should clean the shop before painting any car
Absolutely I’ve learned a few things while trying out painting. It’s been an awesome learning experience but will leave it to the professionals.
I'm jealous cause my first paint job came out not even close.
I loved it, can’t get enough of it. Definitely gotten a lot better since then. Maybe it’s time for another video???
@@rollcam321 yes another video!! This came out awesome
Thanks so much for watching. I will have more up soon
That’s one of those 20 foot jobs , but good job for the first time 👍💯🇺🇸
Yea man I was stoked. Good times. Ready to tackle something else and out the efforts into sanding more for sure.
You did a good job brotha! I'm sure you've learned more since the video and read comments. I'd definitely say the biggest area for improvement is the prepping. Lots of tutorials for it if you do a diy paint job again. Looks way better though! Take pride in it 💪🏼
Seems like this paint came out so shitty , I am watching this video because I want to re paint the exact same car, lmao 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 we all have to start somewhere
Good video bro
Thank you man. Is appreciate you, please subscribe if you haven’t.
Great job. Remeber if the bodywork is good then the paint should be better good paint has to have good bodywork
ay for the first time painting its prolly better than anything i could do in my first five times. also good choice on the kanye track bro. don't listen to the critics man for everything considered its great
Damn I love the feedback bro. Do you have any paint videos?
@@rollcam321 Nah but i might try in the future thanks for the video so i can learn this 🙌🏽
No clear coat
I did in the following touch up paint jobs I attempted. Definitely a process but I
Loved the results.
bro these comments are NOT IT, youre car looks fucking SICCKK , the whole point is that it’s a diy , no professional shit and the results were great
People with more experience are shooting down the first timer.
I learned to take it with a grain of salt. Thanks so much for watching. Appreciate you man. I’ll try and get another video going soon.
Should have just painted it all
Your right but I’m learning. I’ve done quite a few since this one.
You gotta crawl before you walk. A lot of missteps but there’s room for improvement.
So true. I was just stoked to be able to pull it off. I realized the prep stage has to be more detailed before painting.
Yet I was still pleased as you can tell by my dance moves 😂😂😂😂
Should keep painting bro
Really, you think so?
@@rollcam321 yh bro make updates of what u learned
He’s for sure. I’ll keep you posted bro
You did a good job just need to work on prepping the car more I see the scratches on the trunk still
I been trying to paint better painted my old truck and new truck but still doesn't look good enough to me. Actually wanna paint it again. Got to learn how to paint closer to the vehicle though about 4 to 8 inches away. But I will eventually get better I use reducer more now so the paint is thin I know it other stuff a lot of stuff to get better at I actually wanna get a job doing auto painting and detailing too. But some I see have to have experience which I don't yet but have been applying. The job at now been here almost two years but have been messing up on stuff doing cleaning on the summer work it different this year because made more mistakes but don't want to be at this job that much longer they did give me a point though but I actually wanna work for myself been through many jobs in life already. But auto painting I really like polishing need to get better at too though but only been doing the paint stuff and polishing with a da sometimes more since last year June. And I painted the first time last June.
Keep applying the pressure, those that prevail reap the biggest rewards. And never settle, everything is temprorary.
im so sick of hearing this music in every god damn video ......................................................
Is it Kanye? Let me know maybe other people feel the same way 😂😂😂
@@rollcam321 nah, music is great!
@50Calx2 I was thinking the same thing, thank you 🙏🏾
Sorry but this is a really bad paint job. You did not do the prep correctly. You need to sand it much more than that. Once it's sanded to the proper level you have to clean it very well and use primer to even out the surface. Then sand the primer again to prep it for the paint. Once gain very good cleaning to prep for the base coat paint...
This is just a horrible paint job... Hopefully you did it for free. At the end you say that you can't believe how good it came out - I hope that was a joke.
Sheesh, your a tough one bro. Either way god bless
Man apparently you didn't watch the video. Instead of the harsh criticism help the man out. He even stated he's open to advice. One more thing its his ride not yours if the man's happy about what he accomplished who are you to bring him down. Straight up hater
Nah don't worry about this hater, a first timer learning and acting is nuff respect. This is your first one and really, you learned lots along the way and to be honest for that car from where it was to where it is.... It came out fine. Definitely room for improvements but hell, I'd way rather drive the after then the before. Blee homie, keep learning and one day you'll be painting something really great.
Thanks so much man, I definitely learned a lot about painting.
Prep work is where I noticed I slacked off on thinking the pain would cover it.
But like you said, learn a little and gain some experience. 💪🏾
