As in all decision making there are always compromises. In this case it is convenience vs slightly better taste. I chose convenience and love my TrueBrew. There is no wrong decision.

I went from the single cup Technivorm to the True Brew unit. The coffee tastes pretty much the same, but the True Brew does it all at once, however the True Brew does make a mess in inside and is a pain to clean...water and grounds everywhere. But, the cleanup is just part of the unit...I am staying with the True Brew...

I had a True Brew but returned it after about 3 weeks. The cleanup was definitely a deal breaker for me (who wants to do that on a daily basis?!), as well as the inability to empty out and change the beans to get a different blend every now and then. I'm considering the Moccamaster now - thanks!

I've been trying decide which coffee brewer to get. I like a good cup of coffee but also am big on keeping things simple. This comparison helped me decide on the TrueBrew. Thanks for doing.

After watching your videos I’ve decided to pull the trigger and order a truebrew :) I like dark roast full bodied coffee and I know a lot of dark roasts can be oily which isn’t good for machines like this. Can you recommend a few good dark roast beans that would be safe to use in the truebrew so I can order them early to have them ready by the time the machine gets here? Thank you!

Hi Rebecca! I was wondering if the Moccamaster is a 9.5/10 on the taste scale, what would you give the True Brew? Oddly enough, my trip down the rabbit hole has brought me to either a set up of KBGV Select/grinder/nespresso/frother or a True Brew/frother. I know I lose something on taste, just how much?

I definitely think Technivorm is a better brand for coffee makers. I have a Moccamaster going on 8 years. Best coffee maker I ever had. Makes the best tasting coffee. It’s really not that much more work.

So, another review video I saw on the True Brew machine said they dialed the water temperature setting down I think one notch if not two out of the three settings to enhance the flavor. They felt like it was too hot to get the full bouquet of flavor. I’m going to try a 2 setting instead of the factory 3 to get the same result. Wonder if that would do the same for your Ethiopian?

Temperature for different beans varies for origin and roast level! A more medium bean usually likes a hotter water temp while a dark roast is usually better for a lower water temp :)

I see something going wrong electronically with the delonghi before too long.

So far so good and they have a three year warranty.

The one sticking point for me is the inability to clean out the bean hopper, last I checked. That and overall longevity of the unit with all the electronics and processing, will want to read reviews over the next year or two before considering purchasing.

you should list the brew times for each cup size please!

You might want to include the grind time, weighing time, et al for Moccamaster for the brewing time comparisons, because, well, no grind, no coffee. And maybe all of the other preparation bits, like, face machine, 0 to completed brew.

With the moccamaster some will not use a grinder and use pre-ground coffee! That is not an option for the TrueBrew

I agree, the mocamaster cannot brew whole beans.

They are similar since they are both ECBC certified, and will brew a gold standard cup :)
