Excellent video. I think the reason why you're getting less than 20 or 24 ounces of coffee is due to the dryness of the coffee bean. Some coffee beans are drier than others due to variety, size, and age. The drier the bean, the less brewed coffee. I'm glad you made this video. There certainly is a learning curve here. It makes a better-tasting cup of coffee than a Keurig because it grinds the bean for you. But alas, as you mentioned, you can't control how much is ground for whichever cup you select. Delonghi makes good machines. Pricey though!!

Been watching a lot of reviews on this expensive coffee maker and yours by far is the best I've watched. Read many reviews on how people are saying it's too messy with how it throws grounds every where and the water just makes a mess. I believe people just aren't using it correctly or understand how to use it. I really enjoy a nice bold cup of black coffee and am thinking your review just made my purchase that much easier. Thank you for such a detailed review.

Well, merry Christmas I got mine this morning didn’t have any ground coffee so I had to look at your video on how to make it without I agree not my favorite way to make coffee and it would only be in an emergency situation. Thank you so much for your video and help me set it up Get going because I thought it was broken when I put the ground coffee in the hole because I put way too much in and all I did was go right through and make a mess so as soon as tomorrow morning, I’ll be off getting myself some ground coffee. Again, thank you for your wonderful video. It helped me in all areas and took the fear out of using this wonderful machine.🇨🇦

I just bought this coffee machine and I will say I do enjoy the brew it makes. The light, gold, bold brew strength does make a difference but definitely agree it's not very noticeable. It might grind the beans finer to try and get a stronger extraction. Just a guess though.
The only thing that bothers me about it and it happened when making a lot of coffee for a family gathering, was it doesn't calculate it's water level very well. It stopped 1/4th way through my last brew and flashed the add water light before it would continue brewing the rest. My gripe with that is we have an older Keurig that is smart enough to know when the water is too low to make another start another brew.
Other than that though I enjoy my purchase. I would definitely wait for a sale if you can to save some money. Pretty pricey drip machine but it is nice. It's not made in China too.

Haha ive been waiting and looking for your review. I bought this a month ago and absolutely love it. 3 coffee drinkers in the house and probably 15 cups are made daily on this machine and performs flawlessly. Also funny side note, i went to best buy which only sells the 499 model and they price matched targets 399 price. Added bonus

@JustADad I think we're gonna start seeing a lot more of these type of coffee makers. I drove truck for years and some of the truck stops had and still do have coffee makers where you chose say 1 of 4 bean types and then pick your size and then it would grind and brew. For truck stops it was always a great cup compared to what use to be available which was horrible, which led me to getting a inverter in my truck and always having a kuerig with me. Honestly I'm surprised it took this long. Sorry for the long post. Glad they don't charge by the length though I'm sure that's coming lol.

I have a Delonghi Magnifica ECAM23450SL for espresso & cappuccino's, its the same process. Keep an eye on the storage bin for the pucks after long term use, mine alerts me to empty it after only one puck in the bin and will not start until it's emptied. And you only need to rinse the grey piece inside with water once in a while. Great review!

They have a dual-pressure mode brewer. The espresso brews at a much higher pressure than coffeee. I had one of these and they don't make really good espresso. If you use same amount of beans, grounded to the same level, the other "real espresso" machines put out a creamy delicious shot where this one is just watery. This machine offers flexibility but is master of none.

Thanks for going over the preground coffee functionality. Most videos barely mention it. My wife only drinks a cup of decaf once in a while, and i think she would end up using that feature while I grind several cups of regular per day.

I know this video is a year old and I don't know how I missed this coffee maker. I do have a couple of questions. Do you still need to test for the hard water if you use water from a Brita and since it has been a year do you feel it's a quality machine will it last. My absolute favorite coffee maker was the original Cuisinart grind and brew. I must have bought five or six of them during the time they were made because plastic parts springs etc something would always break this is an expensive machine I don't want to spend the money unless I know it's going to last me a while. I'm subscribe to everything Just A Dad so I value your opinion.

Okay, I have my TrueBrew machine and you are right, it makes fantastic coffee, but I am running into a problem with the innards making a mess. After only two 12oz cups I am having to clean the mess on the inside. I also have seen that I'm not the only one with this issue. Have you run into this problem, do you have a solution? I love the coffee, but this seems like a clear case of rushing to market before all the bugs are worked out. I really want to keep this machine, but unless I figure this out... it has to go back. Any ideas?

@@Samantha-yl5dy Unfortunately... no, but I have decided to keep it anyway because I enjoy the coffee so much. I just decided to make peace with it. They will get better.
