This really is lovely, so cute! I love the idea that some mad engineer swindonised a narrow gauge saddle tank with a belpaire firebox and the only option was to stick a pannier tank on there too. Wonderfully bonkers. I must have one 😁
I found out about something modellers call Scale Coiour a while back. It's not a product but rather a concept, the idea being that if you look at, let's say a real life train from such a distance as to make it look small, the atmosphere will actually mute the colour, because the atmosphere is a dense matter consisting of whatever weather happens to be happening that day, in other words it act's like a camera lens filter, it blocks out certain light waves. I recently googled it and was bombarded with products, nice, but finding out what effect the atmosphere has on the dispersal of refracted light bouncing of any given surface if viewed from a distance would in my convoluted opinion give much better results. I like how you've noticed this concept and wish you all the best with your journey of discovery. Cracking little self build that 0-4-0 though, what's not to like about it.
Nice piece of modelling, sir. It must be something else to be able to take an idea and make it real with the 3D printing now. Great video Tristan. Thanks again. Keep Well now!
Small is beautiful. Amazing ;itt;e steam engine Tris. I have seen the Adler on the Brecon Mountain Railway and you have given me an idea to convert a 3D body I bought from Shapeways.
Me: My god YT recommendations suck. They're so wacky and don't even relate to other videos I watch lol My recommendations today: Baby GWR 57XX Pannier! Me: :o You've done it!
This could be the dcc combination i have been looking for. I have a Harton electric no2 kit on the go, which is even smaller than this little model of yours.
So cute! The upgrades are great! With 3D printing, I’m looking at a normal filament printer for HO scale stuff, can you still get decent results from a filament printer in HO or is it worth putting in the extra cash for a resin one, I’m on a bit of a budget but could maybe stretch it if I wouldn’t be able to get good HO stuff out of a filament printer. I’d rather put in the money for something proper than pay less for something that I can’t get as much out of.
I think the Filament printers can do a good job but I believe a resin printer will really get the detail you are after. Its just more messy with resin but if your ok with that then go Resin.
@@OONeal my friend recommended a very fairly priced package with the UV curing thing and the printer, so I think I will go with resin and see where it gets me, I’ve seen resin prints before and have always been impressed by the quality so any mess is probably worth it!
Tris this looks amazing! I like building freelance models. If you are after a replacement chassis I built a quarry Hunslet with an n gauge Percy chassis it’s a great base for narrow gauge builds
Hi Steve, thank you yes I’ve seen the n gauge Percy but only found expensive ones for now but I would like to get one as that would be a much better runner. Take care
If i saw that going round on a lay out wouldn't know if it was hand made or factory built , really good modelling Tris. Would like to see a how to, conversions from dc to dcc ,+ cab , directional lighting & sound if possible. Keep going mate . Stay safe
Thank you Phil that’s very kind of you to say. I would have to learn how to do it first but it’s on my to do list of things I would like to learn about. Take care 😊
hello Tris hope you are well fella. just wondering if you could have a go at printing a Ivor the engine body. I've not seen one ever made and i know you like a challenge
Hi Tris, so impressed by your upgrade. Loved the idea of a tank engine doing a wheelie, must be the high pressure boiler! Have you got room for a trailing pony to make it an 0-4-2 to overcome the wheelies? just a thought. Cracking job, you should be proud. 👍
I was thinking about a pony truck I would have to modify the chassis to fit it in but it’s possible I think. It’s just having the confidence is the thing but I will get there 😊 thank you for your kind comment 😊
Thank you Jade 😊 I lost alot of motivation on the station as the locos ran poorly on it. I wish to do it again some time but do something more simple and that runs well.
I am using a Resin Printer, Its a Anycubic Photon Mono X It is very good but you need to mount the model at an angle and that helps remove the line. something around 43 degrees with the smoke box pointing away from the build tray. Also the Alias setting I put on 8 which helps smoothen out the model. I hope that helps 😊
@@OONeal and what kind of resin? Do only use a uv box to cure the resin or r there any other things u have to do to it? I design OO and N scale models as well but have been getting them printed by someone else so I was just trying to get an idea on where to start if I wanted to print them myself
she's beautiful , 10/10 on the cuteness scale .

As cute as a button. You are so gifted, brilliant. 😊
Thank you very much Pauline 😊

Thank you Trev, its nice to get the models even more detailed and complete. Take Care!
FABULOUS MODEL, the attention to detail on such a small model is really impressive💯💯
Thank you very much!

Great video Tris. A very nice locomotive you have made their. The DCC really makes the model run well. I like the demo board too. Cheers. - Nicholas.
Thank you Nicholas!! I will be making a video about the Demo board so hopefully you enjoy watching that
I am really impressed with your detailed work on it, and the locomotive itself. It needs so much patience! I'm speechless ☺😍

That's nice I'm planning on making a oo gauge steam railmoter using a Hornby 0-4-0 and a auto coach
Excellent, I hope you enjoy making it!
@@OONeal thx I will just need to find a gwr crimson auto coach for not stupid money
Certainly squeezed a lot of detail on the model and lots of electrical gubbins in such a small loco!

@@OONeal I undrstand the frustration. Its vitally important on a model railway to have good running trains - otherwise it becomes tedious.
What would happen if this was 7 1/4 inch scale?
