Thanks so much for inviting us out Eric & Chad! We had fun & we learned something 👍🏾👍🏾
I can’t believe you didn’t have Eric bust out the Robinson M96 “stoner”
I have an unopened crate of 7N6 i can sell ya ... 😆
youre awesome Hank ! :)
Pookey Love !
Had to hit you with a sub after this one! Keep doing your thing!
In some games, they treat the SkS like either a sniper rifle or a DMR.
No gun guys are like. "SKS is wood and non detachable mag...must be sniper rifle"
Same people who made this game thinks you can't aim in the 80s without a red dot
In the game the 63 is a DMR
Edit they also have the DMR 14
@@Excalibur01 That's just for customization.

so we're 36 years old and still playing video games damn right
I'm 36 and Still can't figure out my xbox1. So I shoot the real stuff. (My dad has some awesome friends)

There's nothing better than the sound of discharging an AK pattern rifle!
Fixed that for you.
I was getting some work done on my ak and when one of the gunsmiths charged it to saftey check it another one popped his head out from all the way across the store and said “is that an ak bolt I hear?”
Wish i could.. sks is the nearest thing
Berett 50? The big clack crunch. Or the loading of a howitzer. Just saying
I loved that the first black ops game had the CZ 75 as the final pistol you unlocked
Last great cod. Such a great variety of style in that game
Original Black Ops had a much better weapon selection, and was all around a better game
My favorite from that game was the g11, the burst is just so satisfying.
Damn right die hard's a Christmas movie
*"Yippee ki yay mother f○cker!"*
absolutely
So is Full Metal Jacket.
The best Christmas movie

Love hearing you and you friends talk about the SKS.
Treyarch's attention to detail with firearms is horrendous, atleast MW 2019 tried.
They didn't try, they achieved
@@DerWaidmann_ they did a great job, just isn't perfect.
@@nickloven6728 I still think they have the most accurate depiction of firearms in any video game ever
50 round Bakelite mag was the deal breaker for me.
@@DerWaidmann_ Some nitpicks I found about the weapons in the base game, not including new weapons that might also have issues. I also have issues with the reload animation themselves aswell.
M4A1 (MK18):
1. This isn't an M4A1, it's an MK18 with a longer barrel.
2. The pin for the auto sear is absent, IRL this would prevent the weapon from firing in full-auto.
3. When converted to 9mm Parabellum, the receiver doesn't change at all (the ejection port does)
FR 5.56 (FAMAS):
1. It has the barrel and gas block of the Remington ACR, the FAMAS isn't even gas-operated.
2. The model shown in-game is the FAMAS F1. However, the 50 and 60 round STANAG magazines are compatible, which is incorrect. (The FAMAS G2 does accept STANAG magazines)
FAL:
1. The gas block is depicted AK style, this is not the case IRL.
2. No FAL variants are capable of shooting in bursts, which can be done in-game with the three-round burst perk.
3. The fire-select modes are switched around.
4. The FAL in-game has five heatshield vents, the real one only has three.
FN SCAR-17 (SCAR-H):
1. The weapon lacks the three vent holes, being replaced with one long slot.
2. Has a fictional magazine release.
3. Incorrect ironsights, the top half of each circular sight is missing.
4. Greatly dramatized siderails.
5. Despite obvious fears of copyright infringement, "FN" is a shortened name for the SCAR's real-life manufacturer, Fabrique Nationale. They have even marketed themselves as FN. Don't see why this is in the name when they're trying to avoid potential copyright laws. Then again, IW hasn't faced any lawsuits, so why are they still changing guns?
6. The gunsmith includes attachments to make a SCAR-SC, but lack the most important part: the 5.56x45 magazines.
KILO-141 (HK433):
1. The game is set in 2019, however, IRL the HK433 is in a prototype phase right now and isn't standard issue for any law enforcement or military organization.
CR-56 AMAX (GALIL ACE)
1. The default in-game barrel length is 11.8 inches long. No Galil ACE variants chambered in 7.62x39 use this barrel length.
2. The game model lacks select-fire, however, the real model does.
RAM-7 (CTAR-21)
1. An extremely boxy receiver, with straight-line flattop.
2. The weapon has an AUG style trigger and a crossbolt safety, not present on any TAR-21 platform weapons.
3. The weapon, while based of a CTAR-21, features two horizontal vents and the charging handle from the Tavor 7. However, their placement has been swapped, with the charging handle at the front of the weapon with the vents in the middle.
M13 (MCX VIRTUS SBR)
1. The handguard is depicted with two pins instead of one.
2. Like on the MK18, The lower receiver lacks the pin for the auto sear above the selector switch, which would be required in order to fire in full-auto.
AK-47:
1. This weapon has no inaccuracies, it's even a true AK-47 with the milled dust cover!
ODEN (ASH-12.7)
1. Another accurately modeled weapon, nice!
2. It uses the M203 grenade launcher in gunsmith rather than the more accurate Russian GP-25 grenade launcher seen on the AK-47.
GRAU 556 (SIG SG 552)
1. Inaccurate default stock.
2. Heatshield vent holes are noticeably flatter than the real gun.
I slightly disagree. The go to pistol back in the 80s & 90s was the Beretta. Even Bruce Willis in Die Hard and Riggs had one in all the Lethal Weapon movies.
The gun didn't enter service until 85, the game's set in 81. Granted that's not a problem since there's other guns in game that are out of period.
@@FriendOxygen625 the gun in game is the m93r which was produced in the 70s
@@FriendOxygen625 I've read the S&W Model 59-s were popular among special ops guys during the 1970s and 1980s.

LOL. I'm 62 also. Games keep my reaction time up to snuff otherwise I'd be drooling into a cup. o7
People don’t like a target that shoots back, so keep on trucking! 👍
nothing wrong with that
As long as you still enjoy it thats all that matters
That’s awesome! I’m 47 and love call of duty, battlefield, and other games. The kids call me old, but they fail to understand that my generation was the first to grow up with video games. I had the original Atari, and the Commodore 64 (which had DOS-based games like “Zork”).
I’ve been watchin you for so long I can’t even remeber when I started because I was so young. Thank you for the commitment to this passion.
Much respect for talking with people who play the game, and not just looking at a list of guns from the game and just choosing what looks good.
We were issued 1911A1s in the Coast Guard in the 1980s
The last 1911A1s the US government bought were made in 1945.
Our Gunners Mates rebuilt them with new springs and anything else they needed. The only new item was the Pachmyer Grips. They ran just fine. I had great confidence in our 1911s.
When you have to use FMJ, the .45 acp is the way to go.
When I got out of the Coast Guard in 1989, I joined the PA National Guard 28th Division aka the Bloody Bucket.
Look up 28th Division in WWII.
We were issued 1911A1s also.
Our Cold War Mission was to fly to Germany, where our equipment was propositioned.
Then we were to hold the Russians at the Fulda Gap.
I have a friend who was a LRP in Vietnam.
While on Patrol he and the rest of the team were ambushed by 3 VC.
A bullet went through his XM177E2's receiver and into his chest.
He drew his 1911A1 and shot and killed all three VC. His teammates did not survive the ambush.
There are lots of true stories like this from WWI through Vietnam.
Read McBride's 'A Rifleman Went to War' about Trench Warfare'
And then of course there is Alvin York's Famous use of a 1911 in WWI. Some mistakenly say he used a Luger. But it has been confirmed he used a 1911.
that's cool how did the guns hold up out on the water, was there excess rust etc?
@@WhoMovedMyFreedomPodcast We took good care of the 1911a1s and cleaned them often. We used CLP to clean and oil them.
On a boarding team of 5, each of us would carry a 1911A1. And one crew member would have a Remington parkerized 870 loaded with OO buckshot and another would carry a M16A1.
On our Cutter we had overwatch with the M2
50 BMG and our best shot with an accurized M14, the M21.
Rust and corrosion is always a problem on our Cutters but not on our weapons.
We were always chipping and painting.
And anything made of brass was polished.
And any wood was well cared for.
You rarely saw any rust stains on the sides of our Cutters or anywhere else.
We had great pride in them.
I was stationed on the 205' Ute. Her Keel was laid in 1944. She served
in WWII. In the Korean War the Army gave her the Nickname Dead eye Ute as her gunners were
incredibly accurate with her 5" guns giving them support.
She was in the Vietnam War. The Mariel Boatlift from Cuba. And the Hatian exodus.
The Mariel Boatlift and Hatian exodus were no fun at all. The Ute was not equipped for this type of duty. But we did a good job, while performing all of our other duties at the same time. Including SAR Drug interdiction etc.
Unfortunately after all her service she was decommissioned and sunk By the Navy for target practice.
The Coast Guard Cutter Decisive was a 210' was a much more modern Cutter. I served from 1980 to 1989.
When I got out I went to Penn State. Coast Guard units were too far away. That's why I Joined the PA National Guard.
Cheers
I like taking the SKS, Browning A5, JP Sauer and Sohns 38H, Model 1935 mauser, etc. to the range. No optics.
Funny thing about the Type 63 in Cold War is it’s semi-auto not select fire and the M16 is 3 burst only.
In the campaign, there is a full auto version of the M16
Well, the M16 is multiplayer is correctly 3rd burst because it’s an M16A2. The M16A1(Vietnam) in the campaign is correctly Full-Auto.
Die Hard ... christmas movie

Eric, assault rifle is a real term, "assault weapon" is not.
he probably didn't get enough sleep
Assault rifle is a made up term by liberals to make rifles scary.
Assault rifle is a media trigger phrase to grab attention in order to glorify the situation.
It's because liberal media wants people to associate AR-** as meaning Assault Rifle model.
@@jacobstrutner8232 assault rifle is a select fire detachable mag fed rifle in an intermediate cartridge, it’s an actual term. Assault weapon is the one you’re looking for
Type 63 is not just an SKS though, it has got different gas system if you look at the gas tube. Parts not interchangeable. Also the magazine is proprietary.

I saw my SKS on the thumbnail. Sks paratrooper. Takes a full AK mag standard. It's awesome
@Sickens_like_the_chickens I've had it for 8 years now and I've only had feed issues with some of the cheap wolf ammo. Otherwise it's never had an issue.
SKS paratrooper was a model specifically made for the USA market!
Not an issued gun
@@stever8776 it's my SHTF gun. 30 rounds of defense or deer hunting. I love this damn gun.
It’s not a paratrooper model. It’s a norinco sks-m. They never made an sks with ak mags in paratrooper length as an issued weapon.
@@Freakingstang you're wrong. The paratrooper model m is the name. It's not an issued firearm, it was made for sale in the US as a sporter rifle. It's still called a paratrooper just because it's shorter than the standard model.
A cool 80’s knife was the original Cold Steel Tanto. They advertised it being able to cut through a car’s sheet metal. I worked at Hoffritz cutlery at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles in the 80s where we sold this knife.
ERIC!!!!! The red tape on the mags was from DIE HARD TWO!!!!!! TWO!!!!! TWO!!!!! And both 1 and 2 are Christmas movies. Just like Lethal Weapon 1 is a Christmas movie.
Dang, that 1911 reminds me of my "dream pistol" of the '80s and '90s, The Browning High Power "HP" Practical.
I always thought that the "base" SKS would make a better improvised DMR with something like a "PU" or German ZF-41 scope system, similar to what the US did with the M14/M21/Mk. 14
No Mac-10? No RPD?
not in top 5
and I don't think they own an RPD
I'm surprised the mac-10 didn't make the top 5 it is awesome in the game...... maybe not so much IRL, but awesome in the game.
@@guyfox1206 it melts in the game but recoil is ridiculous, aim at a guys feet and by the time the mag is done your shootimg into the air lol
yeah pretty accurate, as a young dude whos into guns and games I would say this is pretty decent. The problem is game developers change the stats of the guns such as, damage, accuracy, mobility, and whatnot as well as attachments that can be added to the guns. MP5s are more respected and seen as a go-to weapon especially in Modern games surprisingly, even though its an old weapon. Used as a gun for fast-paced Mobility running and gunning. Cool video as always!
thanks for the feedback Nate
In COD Cold War the technical accuracy of guns is decent, the historical accuracy is quite bad.
@@hendriktonisson2915 yeah the history is like supposed to be twisted since you chose the ending. You chose who is the spy and who wins the cold war, the soviets or America.
@@nateburrito7914 I specifically meant having historically inaccurate weapons in the game that did not exist during the 1980s.
I was under the impression that the Type 63 uses an AK type rotating bolt but with an SKS gas system, not just a select fire SKS that takes AK mags.
In the Army, as a knife, I sometimes carried a Gerber BMF, or the Mark II, or the Mark I. I only have the mark I still with me. Let the others go long time ago.
Hankstrange is so underrated.

Red Orchestra reference! Hell yeah Eric, I'm with you
Maybe do a guns of Half-life sometime? There's a lot of iconic guns from the first game and its sequels "Opposing Force" and "Blue Shift" to Half-life 2. A lot of games got me familiar with guns in the late 90s and early 2000s like all the classic Tom Clancy stuff but Half-life was the first peg.
Me laying on the couch watching this video.
Sits upright when I hear making a "guns of heat" video. Definitely caught my attention
What i like about my Yugo SKS is it has the grenade launcher attachment so it allows you to shut off the gas block for better accuracy. I dont know if all SKS's have this feature but its pretty cool.
It’s sad that Cold War sucks with their attention to detail
Indeed, however the gameplay quality is the best since black ops 2 IMO
Glock was available to the general public in 1984 I believe. My Gen 1 is now in my safe and not a gun safe.
I change mags every year or two.
In 78 or 79 I bought my 1st 1911. A brand new series 70. I shot this gun in competition until 2008? From the moment I bought my Glock I've carried a 17 or a 19 EDC.
Love seeing a SKS. I still have mine from 1993.
We were already in the cold war in the Vietnam War
Speaking at 19 minutes 50 seconds the type 63 was immensely popular amongst the infantry non-fighting people made the administrative decision not to keep making them outside like you generally traveled with the 10 or the 20 round in play knowing that you could switch to full auto and 30 round mags times a whole squad and light up a column not fully auto towards a group spread out but a column it was the perfect ambush weapon
Black ops 1 was the better cold war game hands down
There's still 1 million active players on PS3.

LMAO!
1911-style pistols just feel really good in hand and to shoot. They were never designed or built with compromises or by the dollar to be sold to a consumer back in the day. Idea was to make a best fighting handgun in the world at that time. People's hands and sensations were exactly the same in the early days of 19th as they are now. I love two-toned 1911's. Friend used to have an original Springfield 1911 in 9mm with a Wilson 6" pipe and trigger and Pachmayer grips. What an accurate pussycat of a handgun
in the 80's in the Army MP SRT teams we sometimes got the MP5SD. But not all the time. Loved that gun.

Cold war era? That XM177e2 being the grand daddy of AR in carbine lenght and Mp5a2SD hands down.
Whenever I mention .338 Lapua my dad always tells me about how when he was younger in the late 80s, the police department in Springdale, Arkansas where he lived had a .338 Lapua that they nicknamed “The Amputator”
another top 5 gun video idea if I may suggest are top cloned handguns-cz 75, sig 226, beretta 92...
I just wanted to share that the XM4 is in fact a real predecessor to the M4. While it is very similar to the XM177, the XM4 was to the M4, what the X16E1 was to the M16
The type 63 isn't just a select fire sks. It's a Vietnamese copy but it looks very different.
I love my 1911s I'm 20 and own 2 now lol I bought a taurus for my first then my baby, a kimber pro carry! The feeling of a 1911 is unbeatable

This video was cool. Being s gun guy and a Cold War player it’s cool to see the guns in real life. It was also funny to see them talk about the game. Great video keep posting more like it!
I would posit that the Browning HiPower is definitely a handgun that can be found around the world in use in many countries, especially, in the UK sphere of influence from the "colonial" period of the 1940s-1980s. Also, the HK PSG1was an early issue special-purpose build "precision" rifle during the 1980s.

My buddy got into firearms because of Battlefield. He started learning about guns through gaming and now he's built an AK and a couple ARs, he reloads ammo, and he's an almost bottomless pit of firearms knowledge. Huge second amendment proponent and shoots as often as possible.
All because he thought the guns in some games he played were cool lol
that's great
Eric I'm surprised that another iconic gun from the eighties is not in the game and not part of your top five . The A- Team AC556. Especially since you invited Mr. T to co-host the show.
The tape on the mags was from Die Hard 2...which is one of the first sequels I can remember that gets disregarded by the latter entries. IDK...I like DH2.
Hey Eric! Small detail but Jim Fuller is actually no longer with RD. He has his own company now called Fuller Customs.
The Type 63 isn’t portrayed correctly in the game...it’s not select fire. It’s modeled after the 63 but doesn’t have any option to go full auto. Really, it’s just a basic SKS, in the game lmao.
It plays like more of an SKS-D. A standard SKS that takes AK mags.
Only reason it’s not a select fire in the game is for balancing I’d assume. If they made it full auto they’d probably run the damage to the ground
@@NinjaManPoolDude Reminds me of the FAL in BO2, it was treated as a semi-auto DMR by default but there was an option to make it full auto which was just stupidly overpowered lol
@@jeepinbanditrider yes, very good point!
@@NinjaManPoolDude yeah, I am sure that’s why but it would’ve been a cool attachment slot (select fire option).
IMO the move away from pistol caliber SMGs like the MP5 is because of the explosion of smaller more compact AR pattern rifles. Why go into a situation with a carbine sized package that shoots pistol ammo when you could go into the same situation with something that's slinging rifle ammo.
I’ve heard that’s the exact reason LE agencies in the states have moved away from SMG’s like the MP5. A smaller package shooting 556 is more appealing to use rather than 9mm
@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez probably factors in as well.
good to see your into cod man...that's awesome...u gotta play it ( edit: the type 63 is a semi only in the game and yes the m60 is in the game as a light machine gun so is a " stoner 63" is that a real gun? )
The learning of historical details and facts enriches one's life.
main reason the SMG guns have dropped by the wayside in law enforcement is because they aren't as effective against body armour but equally can over penetrate, meanwhile 5.56 will zip right through handgun rated body armour but be less prone to overpenetration, plus the increased accuracy at range where an smg would struggle if they started taking shots from 100+ meters away.
Type 63 was first brought to me in video games via Siphon Filter Omega Strain in the Belarus level.
Love watching Hank...
thank you RTS
What about the Robar conversions that became popular for SWAT teams in the late '80s for the Remington 700 platform. That was Die Hard 2 that had the red tape.
Best channel on the tube. Merry Christmas and God Bless.
The Disco firing line was awesome lol
I did a modern XM177 build with a brownells upper and it’s pretty nasty.
IV8888: "Assaultrifle is not a term."
1940s Wehrmacht: "Halt mein Sturmgewehr!"
I’m really surprised they don’t have a Beretta 92 or CZ75 variant in Cold War, There one of the best hand guns ever made and it was made from the 70s
I’m 56 and play a shit ton of CoD, keeps me young 😉
I’m 19, and I’d like to say: Keep doing what you’re doing, age is just a number.
You use the knife for the silent stealth kill when you don't want to alert the guards. At least that's the way it usually works in these types of games. Just purchased Cold War but won't have a chance to play it until later today. Looking forward to it.
Hank knows guns about as much as I know watercolor painting.
It’s funny they designate an ar15 as the xm17. The xm17 was a bull pup from bushmaster.. bushmaster being a big name in the ar market..
That retro Car 15 is a beauty of a rifle
Type 63 basically was a trial and error like M14, but this hybird of AK and SKS helped the development of Type 81, which is a much better rifle.
Holy shit Eric I've never heard someone so young sound so old lmao. I'm an "old soul" and all, and understand gaming wasn't/isn't everyone's hobby but when you talked about games it definitely seemed like Hickock talking about them lolol. All love though brother. I get a lotta interesting looks when I wear my russian oil change shirt lol
God I love guns!!! I am so jealous, lol.
The SKS was far too nose heavy and, with a 4-5 moa capability, spray and pray was effective with it.
Tell that to a real shooter....
