How to Chain a Load correctly Loading Drill Rig Equipment in Sydney I was in Sydney to loading drilling equipment and thought I'd do a video showing how I chain and strap it up.
Now THAT is a good sharable vid for the young rookie truck drivers. If I was just starting that career I would need a few like this with different loads Johno. Good job.! 😊🖐
Hi from France,a nice little load of general freight, complete with dogs and chains, well back in my day there were only dogs and chains ,not forgetting the little "half hitch" to tie down both front and back gates, with that little 8'×4' little tarp to cover the general tarps and curtain tarps... I drive a petrol tanker here in France now,you know some days i drive as much as 350 kms,all at 80 kmh on motorways....... You blokes would have a ball over here, twelve hours days,no week-end work, not even a clutch pedal anymore,no more gearstick....it's hard i know, but some-one has to it. I absolutly love your chanel.
Thanks William. I would love to come to France and drive. French girls are lovely too. I don't like automatic tricks so that post I wouldn't like but maybe one day I'll get over there.
@@RoadTrainAdventures my name is John Villain. You know i hated automatic gearbox's as well, i thought that they were the greatest piece of shit ever...until the factory driver trainer explained how they were designed to be used, changes everything. But yeah, whipping around with a 13 speed Roadranger is fun (never had an 18 speed, never used a Spicer either)behind a big old Cummins is something I'll admit. Aussie women are pretty too you know. Have a great day.
If I dont have any time pressure and I don't need to move the truck to get out of peoples way I love chaining down/strapping complex loads. Chains are actually enjoyable to use, especially when using that style ratchet. Great video.
@@RoadTrainAdventures do you put a twist in the strap on each side to stop it flapping in the wind? I can never get them to stop flapping unless I twist it but I know technically it's wrong to do it.
@@stuartnjaii I see people do it every so often and I've tried it myself. It makes a massive difference and stops it from flapping completely. It also depends on the load and the angle of the strap too. Sadly the NHVR look down on it though. I'm surprised more people don't know about it.

Put in your request and I'll set if I can do what you're after.

Yeah I love my wife. I think she's got. I have 18 speed. 13 for road trains is not enough.
Great video mate, you made that look easy.
Thanks Bruce. Glad you liked it.

Thanks man. I actually prefer straps over chains.

No I've never seen anyone put a twist on the strap and I don't do that myself.
@@ESPSJ no it's not wrong. There was a study done it doesn't change the load rating or breaking strength of a strap at all 👍👍

Welcome to Sydney mate , and yep it’s still raining..cheers Bob.
Yes it's raining all over the east. Global warming hey.? ha ha
As a truck driver ! Putting the strap on the timber to stop them spreading ,great idea “
For sure
Ive only chained drums but I have always given the chains a good whack with me bar before doing a final tighten,, seems to help
Lots to learn.
For sure
Awesom.
I wonder where that is going? Looks like it's for drilling huge shafts for what, ventilation, foundation piles?
Foundation piles is right.
thanks mate
