I'm not surprised, that's par for the course for Japanese businesses, they do not subscribe to the customer is always right model of the west. If you have a special request you better grovel first and make it be known that you expect a no but would appreciate a yes.
Any company that blocks you for asking for decent customer service or giving feedback doesn't deserve your money. Bad news spreads worse than good news, customer service 101.

Another quality refurb video as usual! Inspiration from these repair videos has paid off; I've cleaned out one of my old NES controllers and tightened up the joystick in a beat up N64 controller too to try and get my feet wet.
For Christmas I've been getting vinyl records in the mail from a good friend of mine. He knows what I like so it's a very nice surprise to see what albums he sends my way.
Damn wth j4u?!?! I heard that they were trigger happy on banning buyers but that's just silly over combined shipping. I'd give them a 1 star feedback if they are gonna act like a spoiled brat over something trivial.
I don't get why they would get angry for combine shipping...it's not like it makes their job any harder; they save on wasting packing material, and the customer saves on shipping/import fees...win-win for everybody.

Any "extra money" wouldn't go to the seller in the first place. It would go to the postal service, money which is paid for by the buyer, not the seller.
Tea Burn Not if the postage was cheaper than what they were charging the customer, they would be able to bag the money themselves. Sounds like they were doing that, why would they block people for simple requests like that. Shady AF.
I see. I guess that's possible. I've also seen several ebay sellers sell stuff for ridiculously low amounts for literally pennies, but absurdly high shipping prices that even if you were shipping something across the world several times, it still wouldn't cost as much as what they're asking for on the shipping price....so that's how you'd know they're really making their money. There's a ton of shady practices out there that buyers gotta be careful of.
From what I've experienced, it might be redundant? For the most part they do, with added handling fees, but maybe the order was too large, or some ridiculous other reason.

David, "The 8-Bit Guy" on youtube has many videos of him refurbing yellowed plastics, called retrobrite. You should look him up!
I need some answers here the polarizer film to the back of my polarizer in my GBP is burnt. I replaced the front polarizer layer already... There still a sick burn mark on the back. Is there anyway I could fix it without the backlighting kit
Also you can fix these burnt screens ! Just change the front polarizer and it's super easy to do. Go watch Sjm4306's video

Great video that shows it doesn't always work out (lines on screen) I've just had my own disaster today trying to fit a backlight to a pocket. Thought it was going well until I saw I'd loosened the ribbon cable and snapped a few of the traces... grrrr. Any tips for easier removal of the rear polariser?
Ive broken a fair few too, just take your time and dont be impatient.. like me!
A gentle heat gun and blade usually does the trick

For Yellowing you can try Salon care 40 creme and sun/uv light.
But the horizontal line seemed gone when you played Snake Roy??
you can fix vertical lines by using a soldering iron

Mine had s vertical line that is in the screen on my pocket Gameboy.
Why two of them had a burned screen?
Every time that I try to get one of those in Japan4U there gone or there pretty beat up and I love the Game Boy Pocket DMG style.
I have a Gameboy Pocket that was damaged by battery acid. all of the acid is cleaned up.there's brand new contacts in the Gameboy now but something on the Gameboy motherboard is stopping it from working, like a fuse or lost trace on the boards. would just give up on it but it still works when I plug it into the wallmaybe it's just one of the fuses have blown but I don't think so I have a multimeter but I don't know how Gameboys layout works but it's definitely nothing to do with the batteries.the batteries are pumping power into the Gameboy just something is stopping it from working on the board

If Nintendo ever bring out a classic Gameboy, I reckon that's what it will look like. With 20-30 games on it like Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Tetris etc.
i remember having one of those when i was 8
the gameboy pocket and pokemon red was the initiating factor for my hatred of AAA batteries (2-3 hours runtime at best)
wiring 2 D cells to it allowed me to play for over 2 months between battery replacements (even with the screen light attachment thing that plugs into the AC adaptor port)
though it wasnt really pocketable with 2 D cells taped to the back of it, the battery certainly outlasted any road trip i was forced to partake in

How long have you "plant" this video?
I bought a DMG styled pocket from Japan4U and got blocked shortly after as well. Their reason? I asked them why the pocket had lines on it when powered on since in their pictures their were no lines. They gave me a couple dollar refund then blocked me. It sucks because the refund was not worth the block since they are the biggest provider of reasonably priced gameboys.
This video is going to blow up! Mark my words.

I suggest you try an ultrasonic cleaner on the parts. It can make things look brand new as it cleans very deeply. I use a solution of Simple Green and water.

There's a way to fix those horizontal lines on the LCD screen. There's a video that shows you using a soldering iron and applying heat with the base of the iron on the contact points of the LCD screen (the gray plastic rubber part). If you haven't thrown away that LCD screen I suggest giving it a try and see if you can get that horizontal line to go away! Please don't give up! :)

I had a big burn on my pocket screen and I totally borked it trying to fix it. But I can't bring myself to take one out of another working pocket just for mine. If anyone knows where I can get a screen or a pocket with a bad board but good screen please let me know. :)

Sometimes you can reheat and reseat the glued ribbon cable connector where it's glued onto the display glass substrate. Of course you can also burn the cable or completely snap it off, so there's that, but if you have an extra display and you wish it didn't have nasty lines, might be worth a try.
Could be actually, nothing to lose if its already broken! Might wait for one that is worse.
have anyone ever try peeling off & replace the back reflective layer of those screen?
you can actually order some sort of aluminum reflective tape that is specially make for this purpose on ebay.

You can sometimes fix the lines on the screens by running a hot soddering iron over the ribbon cable, the heat sets the pins again, just dont touch the iron to anything and youre gucchi

4:21 - "never actually too sure how that's happened" - pretty sure that's sun/heat damage from being left on the dash of a car on a hot day (or few). iPod/iPhone LCDs get that way all the time as well. :( Great video so far, though - especially love the music!
I thought that too, but the case wasnt that yellow. I have seen some where the case is mint and not remotely sun faded, but the screen is burnt to hell!
something about those GameBoy's don't look official, I swear, I don't remember Nintendo being embossed on the plastic case like that...however, i haven't seen a Game Boy Pocket in YEARS!
