I was face to face with Samuel L Jackson in Huntsville Ontario. He had his head out of his Jaguar window, Kangol and all with a big shit eating grin on his face. I told my friend that I just saw Samuel L Jackson and he quickly laughed at me and asked "Now why the hell would he be in this little shitty town in the middle of Nowhere, Canada.
I found out years later that a lot of the filming for this exact movie had been done in the Huntsville area and he in fact rented a place in the area.
That MF looks even cooler in person!
    Great choice and great reaction!
    Cheers!

    What up Show.
    Late comment.
Another Shane Black special and one of his best.
In terms of it's story & genre, it predates Jason Bourne on film.
The director was Renny Harlin, helmer of Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger.
Sam Jackson in his first 'big budget' feature.
While Pulp Fiction & A Time to Kill were drama-driven with a smaller budget.
His role as Hennessy was an eyeopening.
Laughs, bruises, bleeding and still he kept going.
Geena Davis was so good as Charli Baltimore.
Playing off the personalities to which she almost has no control over.
It's a beautiful thing to see her go from housewife to spy.
Being trustworthy and still mother-ly dedicated in her newfound role.
Too hot, too sexy and too mesmerizing for words.
Many props as one of the first actresses in American film to completely 'throw herself' into an action role.
Barely needing any stunt double whatsoever through fiilming.
Renny Harlin & Geena Davis were married (1993-1998).
He first directed her in Cutthroat Island (1995).
    Not considered a good movie.
But watch at your own risk.

great film back in 1996 i think it was a box office bomb though which is a real shame (Ground zero for this concept was La Femme Nikita aka Nikita (1990) probably one of the best international film of the 1990’s it’s beautifully shot has crazy action scene it’s on the same level as John Woo’s The Killer (Nikita is mostly remembered for the tv series on USA but, the original French film is fantastic the american re-make Point of No Return (1993) is awesome to i always consider The Long Kiss Goodnight the sequel to Point of No Return (all three films are intertwined with various ideas and action set pieces! Fans that love Long Kiss Goodnight should without a doubt check out Nikita (1990) & Point of No Return (1993) you’ll appreciate both those films and even maybe love them as much as you love this film 👍👍👍👍👍

Samuel L Jackson tried for years to get a sequel made. It would have starred him and the girl who played the daughter, who was now the super spy. He was never able to convince the studios to get onboard with the idea. When they climb out of the (really) frozen lake, Davis and Jackson had to do the scene three times. Apparently, they weren't "popping" out of the freezing water cinematiclly enough.

    • @PopcornReactions

"Easy, sport. I got myself outta Beirut once, I think I can get outta New Jersey."
"Yeah? Well, don't be so sure. Others have tried and failed. The entire population, in fact."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Shawn Doyle.
Pay Day Fact: Shane Black became the first writer to sell a script for $4 million. He later admitted that this caused a lot of envy among his fellow screenwriters, as well as accusations of commercialism.
Location Location Fact: The resort Windemere House in the Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada burned down while filming scenes there. The production company had to re-work the scenes in Collingwood, Ontario. Windemere House has since been rebuilt.
New Ending Fact: In the first draft of the screenplay, Mitch (Samuel L. Jackson) dies of his bullet wounds. Test audiences liked his character and performance so much so that the ending was re-shot, letting him live to save the day and redeem himself. On the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014) on January 14, 2019, Samuel L. Jackson listed Mitch as his favorite role.
Action Star Fact: Geena Davis and then-husband director Renny Harlin checked how long she could hold her breath in their bathtub to prepare for the "water torture" scene. This film and Cutthroat Island (1995) were attempts by director Renny Harlin and his then-wife, Geena Davis, to not only further her career, but to generate more public interest in female action stars. The ice skating scene was scripted to end with Samantha performing a double axel flip and simultaneously firing over her upside-down head. After two aerial-rig configurations (in sub-zero conditions) and several attempts at greenscreening failed to hold any convincing fluency to the action, it was dropped from the final cut of the film.
