I have the roller stones in my fridge that I pull out and use. I literally cannot live without a good under eye GEL patch (ones that actually adhere, aren’t overly saturated and not paper towels etc). And I have my phone set for making a good sleep schedule. If I miss one of these, I can tell.
I have had people tell me to get a little filler under my eyes as we loose skin density over time. I just haven’t trusted anyone yet to do fillers. And if I did, less is more would be the rule.

So, hi everyone! I just wanted to share a fact. We are all at minimum, 50% better looking than we think. Why is this? It's because when we look in the mirror, all we see is our physicality, and especially any imperfections or annoying changes that come with age, hormones, etc. But when other people interact with us, they see a combination of our humor, intelligence, compassion, spirit and looks. You are beautiful, waay more beautiful than you think. Happy new year!!! ❤️

So you can imagine my disappointment trying to do the big triangle concealer method nearly every youtuber reccomends. It made me look considerably worse. I learned a few yeats ago that i had to specifically target the indentation/shadow and it's so tricky. But it does help, esp. the more famoloar you get with your own problem areas. I did find this video very helpful, but for more than one reason. I am 49 and definitely struggling with hollows under the eyes. I don't want to mess with fillers either. This video made me feel so much better about my own issues. While some of it is because I now have a technique to try, a lot of it is because of you yourself, Wayne. You have so often repeated the mantra of embracing aging as part of life, and the gift we have of still being here when so many are not. That really stuck with me. I also realized that while you are really bothered by this it is certainly not as noticeable to others as it to you. That is also reassuring - since I feel like you look amazing, so maybe my own eye bags are not the first thing people notice about me. Thank you for continuing to be honest and vulnerable in a relatable way, and for not hiding behind filters,

First, a bit of gentle lymphatic massage helps depuff in the morning & second, Silc Skin silicone eye patches (I prefer this brand to SIO). I use these patches every morning, as soon as I get up. They act as a sort of "compression garment" for the puffiness under the eye. Leave them on for as long as you can & you will be amazed at the improvement. I can not thank you enough!!!! You have literally changed the way I feel about my face!!! This video and the one on only applying the concealer at the inside corners (to stop creasing) have been the most helpful makeup advice I've ever received. I have had what I thought were "dark circles" under my eyes since my early teens, and I always slathered the lightest concealer I could find all over my under eye area and couldn't figure out why it never made any difference. And as I got older, the creasing and and settling got worse and worse and I just felt helpless. But it makes so much sense that if you are covering the whole area in the same color concealer, everything is going to maintain the same level of difference in uneven-ness. I paused this video and immediately went to try this and I almost cried at the immediate difference I saw in my face. I've been doing this technique ever since you taught us a decade ago and it's amazing! I just watched another fairly popular British RUclipsr do it and say it was her friend and fellow RUclipsrs new technique and said the credit is owed to her. I politely shared that you're the originator of this specific technique from the start. She got upset and told me that "Wayne Goss did not invent the laws of highlighting and contouring." She admitted she has never seen your videos about it, but still didn't believe me.
I had no idea giving Wayne credit was offensive to anyone. I only mentioned the specific technique and she's talking about inventing highlighting and contouring. It was strange and didn't make any sense.
I've been watching RUclips from the first year and I constantly searched videos about under eye bags, tear troughs, under eye hollows and concealer techniques for them. I watched all the videos, there weren't that many back then. No one before Wayne taught this technique.
I got the Aucoin book when I was a teen, this technique was not in there. I watched pro and celeb muas and they weren't doing this technique. Now influencers are pretending it's their own. I see other people being credited all the time for other techniques like Mary Phillips and KJH, but when I share that Wayne gets the credit for this, they react negatively.

I watched this twice just now. Unfortunately, in the last couple of years (about age 70) I've developed these "bags", more prominent under the left eye. I think I remember a previous video of yours that lightly touched upon this but wasn't specifically dedicated to this technique. I've been trying to watch myself when applying concealer under the eyes and not apply it on the bags. It's a hard habit to break, but I am working on it. Thank you, Wayne, for this more in depth tutorial.

This subject doesn't seem to be commonly dealt with in tutorials as there really is no quick fix. I have taken care of my skin for as long as I can remember and at 59 barely have a wrinkle, however the onset of these dreadful malar bags has really knocked my confidence and totally agree with what you say about swapping them for wrinkles! I find mine are worse if I don't drink enough water, but that aside there doesn't seem to be much else that has a lessening effect. I’m also 53 and I was born with those eyes. Very puffy lower lids and hollows underneath them have always made my face odd.
As a thin child, my face looked very fat. In my 20s, I’d frequently get told I looked like Susan Sarandon. She’s a gorgeous woman, but also 25 years older than us. When you’re not even 30, it’s not great getting told you lol 50. I had no wrinkles, just these eyes.
I have had some success with threads and use them if I have a wedding coming up. They’re not a permanent fix, but they have an instant improvement as well as the longer lasting effects of collagen boost under the skin. There is a minimal pinching feeling as the needle pierced the skin (usual after lidocaine cream or injection, I use cream because what’s the point of looking to numb the pinch of poking 🤷🏻‍♀️). The procedure is in office and very quick. I no longer do it regularly because I only leave the house about 4-5 times a year, unless it’s to the hospital.
I’d seriously look into it at med-spas or plastic surgeon’s. The nurse practitioner can perform the service. There’s no need for a surgeon.

I just wanted to leave this comment here that may help someone. You are 100% correct regarding fillers. About 20 years ago I decided to get filler, I’ve always had deep set eyes. During that time I was in my 20’s and very self conscious. I am now in my 40’s and the filler never fully dissolved , it left me with the worst under eye bags. It made my hollows deeper after a while and big bags under my eyes. I never had the bags prior to filler. The only fix is to get surgery for me. Filler will stretch the very sensitive skin under your eyes over time regardless of how good the injector is. So for anyone reading this don’t get filler! Ever! If you aren’t afraid of surgery and can afford it opt for surgery. I wish I knew then what I know now.
P.s thank you for the tip ♥️I tried it and it did help. Not alot but still better than the way I was attempting to conceal . :)

Wayne, thank you so much for all your videos. At the age of 54 I'm doing a Degree in SFX. We have a beauty module, which I have been dreading, as I don't wear makeup. But watching your videos are helping so much. They are informative and easy to follow. You are a star!

This is not just for aging eyes, I have been doing this since I was 17. I do use a slightly yellowish pigmented concealer or powder directly in the eye bag. I can do a whole face of makeup but without this, I feel like my makeup is crap. I've NEVER had my makeup done and the MUA actually did this, I always have to go back and fix the under eyes. Wayne, is the the only person who I've ever heard talk about normal faces and how to deal with them.

You definetly helped me with the previous videos about concealing without creasing, now I'm feeling young and fresh in makeup again, I was almost giving up of it (even tho I love it) because it was making me feel and look older. Means a lot to me, really thank you.

This is so helpful and timely! Your brush looks like it gives just the right amount of product/placement for this technique! I love your candid reviews and how you are encouraging us to be real and not the instagrammed filters we see everywhere. ❤️

    THANK YOU..THANK YOU..
I too feel so subconscious about my bags...but in addition I have dark circles.
I wouldn't consider cosmetic surgery , first because of my age and secondly because I couldn't afford a good one.
When I watch tutorials and the ladies eye area look so smooth and flawless it's a bit discouraging.
I LOVE the way you explain everything so thoroughly.
I respect and admire you so.
    Thank you again

Wayne, I’m 65 years old and overall very pleased with my skin. I have very few lines and wrinkles, thanks largely tob genetics. Thanks Mom. 😊 HOWEVER, I’ve always had these vile bags/things as well and they’re only got worse as I’ve aged. Thank you for the tutorial, will give a try. ❤❤

Years ago I ran into your youtube channel when I was looking for exactly this. It has always been hard for me to hide my eye bags... hereditary. I have had eye bags since I turned 13!!! Imagine that! So I just want to send you lots of love because of that first video. I saw one when you got filler...and Now I see this one... and it just makes me appreciate you even more. I too hope to find a non filler/surgical solution. I tried the Thomas Peter Roth eye firming cream. It firms the under eye buy I can't used makeup under or over it. And if it overdries there is a white residue you have to constantly moisten again. I feel your frustration in this videos because as a 36 yr old... I shouldn't be struggling for years over this. But makeup helps, your techniques help, and in the end, the day goes on and we keep living. 💗

Wayne, thank you for being so amazing and helpful. I really appreciate your mild manner and wonderful makeup advice.. especially as it relates to improving the look of our skin as it ages. Mine is just starting to show my age, and that’s such a difficult thing emotionally, and you’ve really helped me be able to accept it and embrace it knowing that makeup is still going to be fun as i age.. i just need to change my technique a little bit 😜 this comment probably sounds stupid but again, thanks Wayne. You’re the best.

Thank you, Wayne. My under eye hallows bother me a lot too. My video lighting hides how bad it is. Your techique here really helps. I think a fractional laser treatment may help it a bit also. I would love to try that someday.

I actually just spoke to my Dermatologist about this. I’m not a candidate for fillers as my skin is too thin in that area. She said that PRP treatment helps build collagen in the trough area.

I have eyeglasses and sunglasses that cover mine up nicely. When I use concealer and then wear my eyeglasses I am able to hide the shadow/dark circle lines/creases. The bottom rim of my eyeglass frames sit where the main under eye bags are. I was very careful to pick out a very flattering pair of eyeglass frames. I really took my time and I am very happy. Plus- they help me see better! Win, win!

Wayne, I appreciate how honest you are and how realistic you keep your advice. I have this same issue and yes, it is my nemesis - FAR more so than wrinkles, I concur 100%. Overall my skin looks pretty good for my 50+ age, BUT for these damn bags that make me look tired. I find a light dab of translucent powder is an essential step for me to blur them out as best possible - def makes a noticeable difference. Thanks for the tip. 👍😊💖

Eye bags are quite different than dark circles. Eye bags are impossible to fully conceal since they are loose fat pads that will continue to fall with age. Filler doesn’t work for all face types and may move with time, leading to worsening appearance. The only true way to deal with this is surgery.
Thank you for the vid, this is really helpful!

These two problems are the exact things that I’m dealing with as I approach 40. The shadow from the change in terrain, so to speak, combined with actual purple / blue under eye discoloration is my downfall. It truly does take more time to deal with and is aggravating. Such is life. 😑

I feel you....I have deep folds under eyes.....nothing conceals them....my face looks good, skin texture is good but ugh!....the under eye wrinkles....and jowls too!...facial exercises help to minimize the jowls....but the under eye
caverns are almost like a curse....

😍great tip. Honestly I know how it feels but others see it different than yourself. You look down and then look up with the eyes. Normally your eyes look down as well and it’s not that noticable.
