My sister's 05 Freestyle. We just replaced both sway bar links, outer tierod ends, clean maf sensor, replaced pcv valve, fresh air actuator. Had what seemed to be a oil smell upon stopping. Degreased underside so we could better pinpoint leak. Found it was actually leaking antifreeze. Determined it was the water pump. We ordered new pump today. Ford wanted $3500 to do these fixs. Had put a clean piece of plywood under car after cleaning the underside. Took 2 or 3 days to show up. But sure proved helpful. She got this car new. $3500 outa the question for a 200, 000 mile vehicle. Just gotta wait on pump to arrive. Enjoyed your videos brother.
I just changed mine. The uppers were easy to remove the nuts. After that, I pried the link off the bottom end. Then I used an angle grinder to cut and hammer out the lower end.
Giving it a TOOT of lube and some UGGA DUGGAS with your impact, can't believe you didn't shout out THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM, LADY !! We both spend too much time watching ERIC O at SMA. GOOD JOB and THANKS for you time and effort.
I really like the click click from the torque😂. Amazing video , thanks i will check my tomorrow. I tough that the noise was the tie rods ( wore out ) in my 04 pilot but nope still does . Question in the lower control arm i easy to change both bushings ?
Hope all is well with you Will! I just started your YT videos and love the extra effort you put in the videos with diagrams. Would love to see more videos! Cheers and happy holidays
Great video and thank you for it! I have this same vehicle and when I'm backing out of my garage turning to the right I feel a couple clunks and this is the only time it does it. Any suggestions what it could be?
Same thing, I hear a rattle on Honda Pilot SUV 2017, i need to do it or I will put it in a repair shop, I will show them, your YT video so for them , not to destroy anything below.
Me and my friend replaces those links on my car aswell. they were completely shot. We ended up to cut them off. Couldnt get the nuts off/out. But my car is really unstable on the road. Really scary to drive. Car travels from side to side.. not the whole time but now and then. And also having some noise on small asphalt cracks and such.. shocks, lower control arm.. etc are replaced. Alignment done two times. Cant figure out whats going on. Car passed the inspection here as well. The inspector didnt say something about anything was bad or "might need to replaced soon", "this is going bad...", "there is some play here.." Any wild suggestions? Maybe swaybar bushings causing the noises? Now when ive replaced the links. Noise sound like a bonking on the floor :) and sometimes cracking noise when i turn left or rioght and give a little throttle. Steering feels like the whole steering rack or wheels are loose but they arent. Really annoying with this unstability. Just cant figure it out.
Lower control arm ball joint was shot. Crack in the bushing. Big play in the joint. Replaced lower control arm a second time. Car is more stable but still feel a bit bad.

What are the torque specifications for the links?
Awesome explanation and diagnostic thanks!!
Those compliance bushings done for!!!
Great work Will , You fixed it right up !!
Compliance bushing is shut, have you noticed?
Little heat and penetrating fluid would make that job a lot easier.
It is true

Excuse my butting in. You check inner tierod ends? That goes up in the boots. And maybe the cv axle. They may click as you turn. Best of luck to you.
My front end would shake like hell when I would hit a bump. It was the steering box.
Lower control arm ball joint was shot. Crack in the bushing. Big play in the joint.
Replaced lower control arm a second time.
Car is more stable but still feel a bit bad.
I wanted to grab a Sawzall and butcher those old end links. I've had nothing but bad luck taking them off.
I just installed two new MooG links in my Pilot and still have the knocking sound.
Click click 😂👍Thanks Will!
My calibrated elbow lol 😂 your welcome
Im still hearing a noise. What could that be
I'm hearing a noise for a little while until the suv warms up
This is my Pilot to a T!!
Can the everyday Joe Shmoe tackle a job like this in his driveway (ie, without a lift)
Absolutely! With the right tools and determination, anyone can tackle a job in their driveway. you may hate working on cars afterword's though lol
That car needs new compliance bushings
1:40 rubber bushing looks pretty bad
Does the rear have anything other than shocks that could make an impact?? I changed all 4 shocks and still have a lot of rattling when I go over bumps
