I didn't realize that prices in the US are so high for French skincare. If you ever travel to Europe you can get these for like 10-12 euro, even less when on sale

Because it's an import. Cerave is more expensive in Europe than the US by a good amount.

Idk, these days la roche posay does go for 20€-50€ a piece and then I scout for sales to get my stuff.

@@queenbunnyfoofoo6112 cerave is not that more expensive, most products for European market are made in Europe, so no import costs

It's the same issue everywhere. When you go to Japan, you get get Japanese skincare (obviously not luxury but average skincare) for super cheap. But when you want to buy it in Europe, you have to at least pay triple the price, if not more. It's crazy.

I'm excited to try this! I can't use the original because it has shea butter in it!

I've the cream version but I prefer Avene Cicafate. I'm out of the Avene so might give this one a try.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember clearly watching your review for this product last year. Is this a re-upload?

Am I correct in that the Baumé (cream) is safe to use on cut skin but the gel is not? LRP writes “If your skin has been burned or is subject to cuts and grazes, speed up the skin barrier recovery process with a protective repairing balm such as CICAPLAST Baume B5” but sounds like they stare not to use the gel on broken skin. Anyone know?

Check out Dr. Dray's reviews of both product. The gel has a lot of glycerin in it and is a skin protectant but not as occlusive as the balm. The goal in helping skin heal from cuts is keeping the skin hydrated and moisturized (the hydro patches serve this purpose) while also protecting it from irritants and pollutants. Not sure if the gel is occlusive enough for this purpose, I think Aquaphor or Vaseline works much better and is endorsed by doctors after surgeries etc. Hydrocolloid patches are great for deeper cuts.

I was supposed to get this product through Influenster to review (still haven’t received it) but noticed they explicitly do not market it as a moisturizer as they do the cream… some reviews complained that makeup does not apply well over top and their follow up was that it is for temporary spot treatment as needed… I’m excited to try it.

Dunno why, but Zinc let it be supplements or as an ingredient in skincare, breaks me out: red bumps, hives, and red skin… same with vitamin C, Niacinamide, green tea, centella, panthenol, and retinol/retinoid. Not purging.

    • @ScoobyDoosMom

It’s so hard when you’re allergic to ingredients that are in so many skin products, especially ones that are supposed to be soothing. 😢 I didn’t realize zinc allergy was a thing; I wonder if that’s why I can’t tolerate mineral sunscreens? Id read zinc is almost never the cause of allergy (so much false crap on internet) so I assumed it was some other ingredient. Green tea in a compounded cream, really irritated my skin. I didn’t notice any allergies until after starting Tretinoin last December so maybe it’s made my skin more sensitive even though I tolerate the Tret fine. (Go figure!) I used to be able to tolerate Cerave moisturizers & healing ointment and other moisturizers under my eyes but now they all sting & burn but only under my eyes, not rest is skin on my face. Only moisturizer that doesn’t burn my under eyes is the discontinued Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream fragrance free; I haven’t tried the reformulated one but with my luck…😮I can’t find anything moisturizing that my under eyes can tolerate except a discontinued moisturizer.

The problem with the packaging is the connected tip breaks off after some time of opening and closing. When it happens the product squeezes out from the side and not from the tip anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The original price you think you paid seems about right - that stuff is only about a tenner(ten pounds) in the UK. 24$ seems very inflated 😕

French pharmacy in the US is always going to be expensive. La Rosche Posay is $15-$50 over here.

We still dont have the gel here in Australia ( I don’t think?!). Would love to give it a try - I LOVE gel textures even though I have dry skin, I just prefer really lightweight products and not to feel smothered. Especially at the moment in our summer heat. Thank you so incredibly much .
And again, you really are absolutely glowing and look beautiful ☺️
Oh edit- I basically just use level serum and azelaic acid for mild hyperpigmentation ( and of course sunscreen). But feel that perhaps maybe I need something else to improve it further… do you think C-glow by G&G may help?

    • @paigeme886
      @paigeme886 9 месяцев назад

Gosh… that’s actually more expensive than I believe it would be here too . I have seen the prices for La Roche over there and surprisingly it is I think slightly more affordable here which is completely out of the ordinary ( prices here are insane for everything…)

This is one of the few products ....so far .. that I've tried and had no success.
I think my skin doesn't like zinc containing products?...
Maybe , just maybe... My skin doesn't like mineral sunscreens..... just too drying...
Then again, maybe it's just me😮😊

Too bad the gel formula costs so much more- $24 as opposed to $16 for the balm.

    • @ScoobyDoosMom

Haven’t tried the gel yet but I want to. The balm, like many of their products, is overpriced for what it is. I’m not a fan of the Baumé. It’s messy, it pills on my skin and I’m never sure if it’s going to help heal if I rub it all the way in or if I’m just supposed to leave it thick on the skin like a mask. After reading what someone wrote on here that the nozzle breaks off after a while and then the product squirts out of side of tube, I may save my money. At these prices, they should make better quality tubes.

Doesn’t hurt to be kind. Sarah works hard and is so open to constructive criticism if you found the product hard to see but being mean is not constructive.
