In today's video, we explore an abandoned hotel. It was reportedly the home of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio while filming a movie in 1952.
Former guests of the hotel include U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Joseph Cotten, and Al Capone.

I am following you on Instagram now I love to explore these abandoned places they have so many memories and so many ghosts in them they're so beautiful I wish wish people would fix them back up there so many people that need homes
Ñ
I went to the abandoned hospitals there it’s cool to say I was at some of these places before you😁
you so cute
As a senior citizen, I remember these times, and people when growing up. I totally respect what you are doing, your demeanor, appreciation of history , and historical structures. The music sets the tone of peace, and respect, as does your tone of voice. These might never be documented respectively without you. You were brought up well.
Oh wow what an amazing time to grow up in, I bet you have some amazing storys to tell.
Keep safe and stay well xx
Julie Klie OMG you beat me to it~ I was going to comment THE SAME!! I'm 68 & I love & appreciate Steve Ronin's adventures! I would've done this at his age if I knew it was possible then. I was really worried when you were walking on the last floor~ it sounded like it was cracking & anyone could fall thru & you were by yourself!!! Also LOVE the drone shots you include. Thank you & stay safe!!
Stop the 🧢
@@suzanneduff327 Thank you . You stay safe as well
Nice comment. Very wise.
If this is Hotel Niagara, my life changed in 1965 due to something that occurred in that building. At that time, there was a radio station on the mezzanine - on the left side as you walk in. It was WHLD. The ballroom probably replaced it when the station moved out. I was in the control room and picked up a copy of Broadcast Engineering magazine. I answered an ad for a recording engineer wanted in Hollywood, and ended up with a 38-year career at Capitol Records in Hollywood. Now retired, 84 years old and still living in California, I was saddened to see the condition of that building that once contained a great radio station and made such a profound difference in my life. Thanks for showing it to us, Steve.
Awesome.
That's a great story
Such a great story! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼
That’s amazing!
Your comment made me smile, amazing story!!
The way Steve treats the content of his videos with such respect shows you he's not just doing a job, he's fulfilling a passion.
Probably my #1 for abandoned building exploration and content.
Steve needs a longer intro. And more footage of his own face. I agree he is fulfilling a pa$$ion.
So strange that it so glamorous on the inside but the exteriors looks like a prison.
That’s basically all of New York lol
Okay that's what got me.
Why people want to go in with spray paint and try to finish destroying beautiful old buildings like this is beyond sickening!!! Thank you for taking the time to film your videos, it's evident that some young people really do care about the past and clearly you do😊 Keep up the good work!
I went to my friends wedding here in 1990. It was a beautiful place, and I was sad to hear it closed years ago. I can't wait to see it reopen. Thank you for your amazing videos, this was one of my favorites.
What was the name of this luxury hotel?
@@reginahoughtaling2147 I seen one of the comments on here say the name of it was The Niagara
I'm from Buffalo, and will never get over Niagara Falls wasting away for the past 40+ years! So much potential and beauty destroyed by neglect & dilapidation!
I wished you would have inserted pictures of the hotel in its glory days
I'm currently working out how to find old pictures x
That's what I'm thinking too
Me too. Would love to see what the ballroom and entrance looked like back in the day as well as the penthouse suites.
Any luck?
Yea that would of been sweet
Hi Steve. This hotel just screams the early 1930s, 40s, 50s, & 60s. I keep seeing short film clips of those classic stars in their evening wear, the sounds of big band horns, & polished floors, glass, & brass. I hope the owners will be able to complete the restoration and not lose it. It's just incredible. Stay safe
It's such an amazing master piece
Being in the grand ballroom, it wasn't hard for me to imagine the way the room must have looked in its day, and also imagining Marilyn Monroe on the arm of a dashing suitor, getting ready to take to the dance floor. I could also picture her and her entourage coming through the grand front entrance and lighting up the entire lobby with her beauty. Norma Jean stole my heart, and as a senior in high school in 1965, I remember feeling utterly devastated by her death. I still have a copy of our local newspaper that carried the front page headline announcing she was gone forever. Your videos are beyond amazing and through the entire tour I could feel and picture her there, perhaps throwing a cocktail party in a lavish suite on the penthouse floor. Kudos to you, my man!
I remember delivering pizza there in the 80's the place was beautiful if you came in the side door the were marble floors and stairway thank's for sharing great video
What was the name of the hotel?
@@queenoftenthousandmoons8864 The Niagara
Dang the 80s?
@@atlantasportsfan7196 yeah one day u old to if u lucky
If you had a few pictures of this Hotel in its days....that would have been great!! I can hardly imagine this hotel coming back to a new life the ceilings are in bad shape and the roofs foundation in it’s day it must have been so beautiful!! Niagara Falls is so beautiful 💕
I can't understand how this place is abandoned smh you would think one of the celebrities would invest in this hotel since an iconic person like Marilyn lived here.
What celebrities?? They're all dead. 🙈🙊🙉
@@freedomforever1962 🤣
Your photography makes every building look so beautiful no matter how old and decayed it is. Loved the main entrance it was so bright and the location so close to the falls. Amazing 😊🇬🇧
If only the walls could talk, they would tell some stories. Totally beautiful quite a place in its time, thank you for sharing
I hope they keep some of the original design when they renovate. It’s so so beautiful and grande. You just don’t get that kind of hotel anymore!!
Hello Fern Coleman
@@vikasbist8362 Hello 👋
The chandeliers would be worth thousands......they are rare and vintage. If this hotel is restored the lighting will be removed; cleaned and rewired.
I was thinking that myself. Has to be around 20k each at least.
Ya think
Stunning ceiling roses in that ballroom and in amazing condition. Loved the entrance too! 🐨 Thanks for sharing Steve
The Brock Plaza Hotel
In 1952, the 20th Century-Fox film Niagara was shot in Niagara Falls. Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotten, and Jean Peters all stayed at the Brock, with Marilyn staying in room 801. In 2000, the final scene of the film The Whole Nine Yards was shot on one of the balconies of the Brock Plaza Hotel.
It's good to hear that they are going to restore it.
its not good condition again so dont restore it
Drastic under estimation on the value of the chandeliers. Worth quite a bit more.
Right even scrap value is way more than estimate...
Yeah that kid had no idea what he was talking about
$800 hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
Just getting anyone to restore the missing pieces of crystal is difficult enough. I wouldn't doubt if those were more likely $75, 000 each. Hell of a job to clean them.
In our Vegas Casinos one chandelier is worth $80-150 THOUSAND dollars!!
During her short life, Marilyn Monroe became one of the world’s most popular and enduring icons, known best for her sexy roles in films like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Some Like It Hot. Perhaps less known, however, is that the American actress with the trademark blonde coiffure and little black beauty mark loved a fancy hotel. Indeed, her spirit lives on at some of the most glamorous properties around, from the New York City hotel where she had an infamous row with Joe DiMaggio to the Hollywood haunt she called home for nearly two years. Read on to go inside the luxury hotels where Marilyn Monroe would stay
Marilyn was a very savy business woman.
What's the name of the hotel
Well I recall her dieing in a empty small Bed Room
Or murdered there
@@tanyasmith7123 it was never proved if it was suicide or not some say she was murdered by a overdose
It’s little wonder this young man now has almost 700k followers! He is one of the best in the game! Such professionalism and just easy to watch!!
Thank you very much.
Happy 2021 guys!!!!
Its crazy how they just let buildings and homes just rot instead of maybe starting a shelter or a rehab for people
But I guess they can do whatever they want whoever owns it
Nice to see some elements of this place restored and hopefully the rest renovated! Great explore Steve!
This is such a wonderful place! Thank you for sharing guys!
The chandeliers are so incredibly beautiful 🤩 and the telephone booth I’ve seen in the older movies. Thank you for sharing 😊
It’s a shame that buildings aren’t being built like they were in the olden days. They can stand the test of time but these other buildings can’t last and they just fall apart.
Guys leaving: “Do you want my help”
Dude with Steve: “No you can keep your help”
Sounded rude as heck to me!
It did seem unnecessary to say it like that....
I was thinking the same thing. Very rude and unnecessary!
Very rude, kinda ruined the vibe
I agree! It is kind of making me not want to watch this channel. Someone is being kind and you reply so rudely, it says a lot about who you are as a person. If he is in every video I’m unsubscribing.
I’m pretty sure they said: do you want my helmet
Dope video as always Steve!
Still has so much beauty visible. Sad that it wasn't restored. Awesome place Steve!!
Thank u for taking us with u , love it
This is The Hotel Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY. Built between 1923-1925. Closed in 2007. It was a popular hotel for honeymooners in it's glory.
Thank you!
I love this explore Steve. I have been to this place when I was a child. Wonderful memories
Wow, lovely hotel full of rich history. Those chandeliers were spectacular- what a lovely find and let’s hope it does get restored 🌹
Definitely worth a sympathetic renovation . 26:38 shows how they hid those large steel trusses inside the partition walls of what were probably meeting rooms. This place is well built !
Dude you absolutely killed this video! I love all the camera angles and drone shots, I couldn’t stop watching.
Watching from the Uk, thank you for sharing this adventure having being a great fan of Maryln for years this was amazing, hope you and your family are all ok during these troubled times, please stay safe x
Why would such a hotel ever be abandoned in the first place? Sad.
Money, not being able to manage the upkeep, lack of modern amenities ... costs a lot to go through to fully wire the thing with all the things that people expect today in a luxury hotel.
Heard it’s haunted
@@DeniseRamirez222 really ? Wow 😲

@Induxvideos its demons taking on a form of a dead person.

It really is. I've asked what brand it is.
Thanks 4 sharing .it was such a beautiful place once .
Another AMAZING explore. Thank you Steve for taking me to all the places I'll never get to explore.
💕
Beautiful! Just pray they actually renovate this amazing hotel. Be safe n well. GB
Thanks Steve and gang. You really find great places. Peace to you also
"You can keep your help."
Wow you totally seem like nice guy.
I thought the same thing. Like why be rude? what do you gain from that?
If walls could talk! These videos take you back in time and you can imagine what it was like. It is sad they are just left abandoned.
Thanks for bringing this I enjoyed it besafe Steve

Wow! Very beautiful! Great documentary! Very nicely done... keep up the great work 👍
What a beautiful place! Thank you for sharing!
Looks like it's in Niagara falls New York. I have been in there in the mid 60s when my family were on vacation to visit my mother's family that place was fantastic.
I love this channel so much. I feel like I get to explore with you even though Covid has everyone stuck inside. Thanks Steve ❤️
I bet this place was amazing in its day ❤️ love the drone footage too thanks Steve
Hi Steve, hope you are doing ok, this building is absolutely incredible I enjoyed watching your video!!!
Great video Steve
PROUD to be part of the Ronin Army! That actually made me almost tear up...I am so honored to be part of this channel family. I can't do Patreon at the moment (finances are terrible, like so many other folks around the world) but you have my whole heart!
I loved this hotel. I hope that it will be restored soon. It is absolutely to beautiful to be abandoned. John F. Kennedy stood out as a guest for me as well as Marilyn Monroe. The entrance and the ballroom were stunning. Just a shred of what that hotel once looked like. Very grand - I can only imagine the events hosted there. So much history. Thank you for capturing this and sharing. We all need a reminder of what "gems" are in the USA. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💖 Kat
Those chandeliers are beautiful. Must have been a magical place to stay back then.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching.
Really amazing video Steve! Such an opulent hotel, especially that curved part with the revolving doors. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful video Steve.
Love the video, keep going and be safe, stay strong.💜
What a great place so sad they weren’t able to keep up with a place like this with all its history ❤️ Great Vlog 👍🏼
They did a thorough job emptying that place out.thanks for the adventure.
The ball room was fantastic and you took gorgeous shots.
Hi Steve and my good neighbors from Buffalo. I really love the upstate New York video’s of yours. I’ve been to exactly where you filmed countless times. Enjoyed seeing the old beautiful hotel. It really is so sad how the once thriving area keeps wasting away. The falls are breathtaking and worth a trip. It does surprise me how easily you got in. Especially in city districts. I really look forward to videos of yours from this area. Its fun recognizing where you are. I feel like an insider🤓 Stay safe wherever you’re adventures take you.
I first came upon your content and just fell in love with abandoned places. Then I started to view other explorers. But you're my top number one explorer. I'm PROUD TO BE CALLED ARMY RONIN
I hope it does get renovated and brought back to it's old glory, not just another hotel.
This place must have been magnificent.
Thanks for another tour.
Your respect earned you a subscription from me.
Mahalo. 🤙
Thanks for the video that hotel is gorgeous. You've got me curious of what it used to look like now I'm going to do some digging. Thanks again.
Love your work!!!
Hope they keep the entrance! Thank you!
I sure hope they keep the original doors and phone booths!
For sure
That kind of phone booth allowed you to have a private conversation, no one eavesdropping.
Q: "How could you explore a place without a camera?" A: "Just like we have explored the whole world for thousands of years"- one of the most millenium questions ever heard :) great video thank you!
Remarkable building. I truly hope they do restore it & reopen this hotel.
Hi Steve..im from Philippines 🇵🇭..im always watching your videos..i think all your videos i already watched..just like a movie marathon to me..keep sage always..
It is so awesome that you care about these landmarks of our history
What a beautiful building. You did a great job!
TFS this. It’s so sad to see such elegance crumbling away. 🙏🙏👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much for this tour Ronin and crew .... in its hey day hotel must have been absolutely stunning and very lavish .. love ❤️ the crystal chandeliers. The views are magnificent from the top floor[s], roof terraces ... so sad to see all the decay but it is to be expected really given how long it must have been empty and unused .... must have been very expensive to stay here, that’s not counting in the top floor penthouse suites ...... the foyer is magnificent, ceiling is beautiful even still despite signs of deterioration .... thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😁 .... not enamoured with the facade, ugly for a hotel that was for rich and famous !! As another commenter has said, it looks like a prison ! Still, maybe the owner[s] didn’t want to draw attention to this building with so many rich/famous staying here .... All the best to you all 😁👍🏻 ... ❤️✌🏻🕯 ......
Amazing.
Monroe, JFK, Sinatra, Gangsters like Capone, Lana Turner, West (Forgot her first name the "come up and see me sometime" gal.), Liberace, Jayne Mansfield, Rock Hudson, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Carson, Gabor sisters(Ava & ZsaZsa), Ava Gardner, Sonya Henny, Bing Crosby, Fred Astair, Ginger Rogers, Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, Cary Grant, Bogart, Lauren Becall, James Stewart, Gary Cooper, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Montgomery Cliff, Henry Fonda, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn, Bob Hope, others, all walked through those doors.
I feel sorry for the young people out there that will never experience the fun of a phone booth! The closing of the door, the little fan, the scratch pad and pencil all in your own private space, just for a few minutes. The sound of the returned change if your lucky
I love watching abandoned explorations. I have three autoimmune diseases. I have problems with too much stimulation. I want to thank you for being so chill, informative and very good with the cameras. Your my favorite urban explorer.
Bless you Nancy I’m so sorry you’re feeling poorly. Look after yourself, especially with this Covid. Hope you feel better very soon. Take care 💓😊💓
Heeeeyyy love your channel dude awesome cinematic views and camera work its incredible what you do. Thank you dude
Very rude to say “you can keep your help” lol
I thought the same thing but who knows
Sounded like keep your health
Right lmao what an asshole
I thought he said hat ?
Came here to say this, ruined my vibe for video tbh
That was a cool hotel at one tome , im sure . It would be nice to see it all redone . Thanks steve
Your a rock star Steve ty 💋 love the pictures you have such a good eye for it...
what a utterly amazing channel this is. thank you 🙏 from England
Glad I got to be able to watch this tonight
Definitely real crystal.
Thanks for a next ,great video 👍👍👍
Ronin you gotta go back to this place after it's complete renovation would really like to see how great it turns out. I really enjoy your videos keep up the good work and please stay safe ✌
The lobby and building layout reminds me of the old Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX. Seriously cool property!!! Fortunately The Baker has been undergoing a massive renovation over the past couple of years and the Grand Lady of West Texas as she is known will be welcoming guests again within another year or two. I have some photos from when I explored her back in 2017, and even in all the decayed grandeur there was still a magic about the property. I recommend checking out the history of the place if you've never heard of The Baker Hotel of Mineral Wells, TX. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm a new subscriber, and already hooked on your videos!!!!!
What a beautiful building. I love how you show the details. So beautiful and tell the history behind it. I wish you could of found pictures of what she looked like when she was open.
I hope they can get her opened back up. To beautiful of a building not to.
Hi Steve, its so good to see you again. I've missed watching your videos. 🤗🤗🤗
Fab! Love the chandeliers & lobby ceilings beautiful too. What was the hotel called back in the day ?
That was very interesting! First time I have seen any of your videos! You have a good voice for narrating !
I can hear the echoes of the hustle and bustle and voices of the past when you pan around the foyer. Its almost as if the walls breathed in and now they are exhaling.
“So, this is one of the floors.” Really? That’s some fantastic insight right there, Beavis.
Lmfao
Good explore very interesting.
I admired how you explored respectfully the place s you visited im proud of you from the Philippines truly filipino Steve Ronin
I love the sound of the rain so peaceful
